I now see I’m in a long line over 10k or more! I’ve no wonder the PaybyPhone App is not fit for purpose as any revenue generated must be spent employing people handling legitimate complaints. I think it is about high time the government/Mayor of London actually intervenes where councils persist with such a defunct system.
I’m appalled and wonder if there is an ombudsman to report all our complaints?
Please help Trust pilot?

Terrible if a mistake has been made and need support. Robot chat advice useless and end up going around in a loop before site crashes. Why can’t I just speak to someone!

They charge nearly double the price! We parked by Madeira Drive in Brighton and decided to pay using the app. For 2 hours, they charged me £6.50, while the machine price was only £3.70! On top of that, they even charge you during the hours when the car park is supposed to be free! 🤯🤯🤯

First ever experience using this app. First couple of attempts got error messages. Finally thought the payment had gone through, message on screen saying paid until 16:37pm and headed off to have lunch. Came back to find a parking charge notice. No sign of our payment in the app history so no chance of appeal. Never using this again!!!!

Most of these apps/websites aren't designed to be actually the most convenient way of paying possible. This goes the extra mile by crashing out on payment, etc.

More often than not go through the whole processs only to get a "something went wrong" message. I tried sending them a message but never received a reply. The two car parks I use where this happens have no card payment facility either!

Client depuis plus de 13 ans cette aprèm je ma garre à Vincennes, et je prends toujours 2 à 4 heures au cas où mon rdv déborde ! au bout de 5 minutes je me rends compte que je n'étais pas à la bonne adresse, je voulais interrompore le stationnement et payer 15 min ou au pire 30 ' je me retourve sans le bouton pour faire l'action ! aucun N° SAV ! Honte à vous honte à vous en 2026 vous répondez à vos clients avec un simple chatbot 1er génération il ne comprend pas plus que les fondateur ni les dévelopeur qui ont poussé cette version du VOL direct.
Voilà aujourd'hui je désinstalle l'APP à jamais ! si c'est pour payer à la borne je ferai comme avant. et je laisse une place vite sur mon tel ! car j'ai toujours aimé cette app et j'ai même convaincu des centaines de personnes autour de moi de l'installer ... je vais demander à tous ceux que je croise cet été de faire de même.

Terrible. DO NOT TRUST THIS APP. We paid the amount on the app and then received a fine from the Parking company for £100. We tried to appeal but nobody responded from the parking company via email or phone. This amount has now increased to to £178 for a £3.06p parking. Disgusting and when you look at the small

Constantly looses my car list and payment details, says no nearby locations despite having full signal and standing next to the machine. DO BETTER

The IA they used for chat is a nightmare.

I opened a claim as I was double charged with the IA. Unable to speak to a real person. The IA say it opened a ticket but cannot provide any ticket number …

Honestly if I can’t get a hold on someone I might just fill a claim a consumer’s association.

Sat in my car in Blackheath last night trying to pay for parking ahead of a concert. App said my account was suspended but provided nobody to speak to. Rang the number on the parking sign but only option is automated to pay for parking. Tried to do this but robot said my phone wasn't registered. Tried to create an account and it then said I was registered. Eventually had to give up and park a long way away. Missed the beginning of my concert. Today have tried to contact someone in person. Only option is to speak to a chatbot who told to to try alternative methods of paying which is a nonsense. There are not ticket machines, no alternative apps and I couldn't pay by phone. Bot told me someone would email me at some point in the future to respond but when? Why is a parking company permitted have no physical customer service for people to speak to? They are an absolute disgrace and the shocking reviews they consistently get are testament to this

App is very user unfriendly to use. Impossible to speak to a human about a problem. Very stressful experience

I've been trying for months to remove my email address from PayByPhone's database, and somebody else has used it to sign up for an account. There appears to be no way of contacting them besides the chatbot on the website, which has on multiple times stated that a ticket has been raised and I would receive an email: that has never happened. On one occasion, the chatbot has instructed me to use my email address to log into the stranger's account, which feels uncomfortable (and possibly illegal under the computer misuse act) as the account will presumably include that person's personal data, telephone number, car details, and movement history. There appears to be no way to communicate with an actual human.

Utterly awful. These charlatans push you to take sms reminders and then charge 8p + vat for the service. The app is not great, confusing to use. They clearly have no regard for their customers.

ABSOLUTELY ABYSMAL IS THIS DAMN APP. It is slow it is useless it wants passwords even though I only use the useless thing for two areas - it is truly awful, by the time I sit trying to get the damn thing to work I get a parking ticket. whoever is paid to develop this ridiculous system needs SACKED. The cost for a text msg is stupid altogether typical disgusting piece of non equipment.

This app is terrible. The website loads incredibly slowly and deceives you just before payment by making you think parking has started. However, you actually need to complete a few more steps. This tactic is used to increase your chances of getting a fine. I shall pay by cash next time!

UPDATE; they really are an awful company and will be trying my best to avoid them. This is not how you handle a customer review with such reply!

The system is riddled with faults. I would have preferred to carry change with me then trust this system. I changed my mobile number and now can register my permit on my new phone. Course you cant just update your number you have set up a whole new account.

The app never works it is absolutely infuriating. It says no signal but I have managed to get on WiFi. Every other app on my phone is working.

Worst parking app I've had to use.
Constantly crashes, always has issues when I try to pay by another other than Gpay. Only accepts max of 5 vehicles so constantly having to delete one vehicle in order to re install another vehicle to park it. Then vice versa when a different friend visits.

It always seems to need payment approval via the bank app, but the you always get a message saying you closed the paybyphone app without confirming payment. Obviously this is just to help confuse the issue so you don't know if it's actually safe to leave the vehicle parked there. It seems like the entire app is designed to be user unfriendly.

I far prefer the RingGo app even though I find that the annoying too. At least it works.
