Surly driver last night
30/9/2019- The guy taking us to airport at 15.30 was very pleasant and helpful, so no problems.
09/10/2019- Previously, every time late at night, the driver has brought the car keys in the minibus. So last night we expected this too, to save us a walk in the rain and dark and muddy water puddles, and there were not many people using the service at 02.30 am!! But no, the surly curmudgeonly driver sat in the van in the dry while husband ran to and from office in heavy rain- trousers covered in mud. Wasn't particularly cheap either.
never had a problem before but wouldn't want to use Oakwood again in case sane driver is there .
Absolutely effing awful!
Absolutely effing awful!! Poor service, non-existent customer service and despite being only minutes from the airport, we had to wait 20 plus minutes (whilst the driver chain smoked 3 cigarettes!) before he finally decided It was time to go! There are far better parking companies operating from Bristol, I would suggest paying the extra to ensure a improved level of service.
My awful experience of Oakwood Parking
My awful experience of Oakwood Parking Bristol -
Arrived around 4pm on 23/7.
There were no signs on where to park on arrival, so we parked in what we thought was a correct space only to be told by someone this was wrong. Handed keys over which was okay however the building you hand them into was incredibly run down. Waited and got on to a mini-bus, the mini-bus driver was nothing short of a disgrace. Every time the Oakwood parking phone rang he would be making inappropriate comments to women and would even be picking his phone up whilst on the road and not using the hands-free in the bus, this made me and my girlfriend feel very unsafe whilst in the bus. Furthermore, the comments made to women by this man were horrible and made my girlfriend feel very uncomfortable.
Upon collecting my car around 23:30, 1/8
Both me and my girlfriend had a takeaway coffee, the driver told us we couldn't take it on board the minibus quite rudely. He rather abruptly told us that were signs all over the minibus which said no hot drinks to be taken on-board. Upon getting on the mini-bus I could not see one sign saying no drinks so felt as though we had been lied to. Upon getting back to the parking centre, I visited the toilet, this was such a mess and made me feel sick. There was one poor man in reception with a que of 5 people, he was trying to check people in to a b and b, as well as sort car returns out. He called for one of the mini bus drivers to come and help and after at least 20 minutes I finally got served. I told the man my name, and after at least 5 minutes of looking he could not find my car keys, I asked what would happen next and he replied "not much I can do" and "its not my problem is it". Thankfully another man came and showed the other man where my car keys were, one of the men said 'oh yours is one of the f****rs that won't start". My car had just passed its MOT and just had a new battery around 4 months ago so was wondering why it would not work. I later found my car parked on an extremely steep slope, which had obviously been the reason the battery would not work. One of the men had come to help, but was constantly swearing at me and my car. I was appalled by the shocking service I had been given and will never ever be parking in one of your car parks ever again.
DO NOT EVER PARK HERE.
Poor service airport parking
I have used this place for airport parking on 3 or 4 occasions and have always been satisfied with their service until today. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t land in Bristol until 1:30am. We phoned the mobile number given to us from inside the terminal and went straight out. We were told the driver would be there in 2 minutes. We waited 15 minutes and phoned again. We were told we just missed it. If the person on the phone had communicated with the driver and was asked to wait for 2 more passengers there would not have been a problem. We were left waiting 20 minutes. The driver picked us up and didn’t say a word. I went to collect my key and was told to press the button and the car would light up! I did and the car was 50 metres up a pitch black dirt track!! We loaded the car and started to drive down to the entrance and Lo and behold the mini bus pulled out in front of us!!! Absolute shambles, appalled with the way we were treated. Will not be using again!
2 stars here for price
2 stars here for price. I never really had issue before and it is very conveniently located but today changed my mind .
The road works completely obstructed the the roads to airport and to car park. I ended up being unable to reach it and had to park in short time car park which will cost me a fortune.
When I called the company whilst beeing stuck to ask for advice the woman just couldnt give less of a sh***t! Firstly she told me that the roadworks are all done so I should be able to get through ..which clearly was not the case . When I said they are not finished she just said “ oh well there is nothing I can do about “ and that they don’t bother informing customer about any potential issues that might arise. I realised they can’t do much about roadworks but what I find so lacking in I customer service is the fact that they are located 2 min from airport and would have absolutely been aware of this . I have booked my car 2 weeks in advance - surely emailing me with warning would have not been so out of their way? And also showing complete disregard to the situation .. a guy came on to the phone and just hung up on me..
it is convenient location so I guess they don’t really care about customers as there will always been others who come in the person who doesn’t , place .
I know I won’t be going back .
Lack of consideration for other peoples’ property
No problems with the parking and transport to and from the airport. However, I was not happy with the way that our soft cases were thrown into the bus by the driver, resulting in a breakage of a gift ( I accept this could have happened on the plane, but there was no regard for the fact that the case had a soft top, which it was thrown onto.) Upon contacting the company, I was told that we should have been loading our own cases onto the bus, although nowhere does it state this in the documentation. We will not be using this parking again.
Dont leave your keys!
The 2 stars are for a reasonable parking fee, used oakwood parking twice this year, on our first return had to scrape mud off the floor in order to drive back to Cornwall.
Second time, we arrived to find our phone booking was not listed and anyway, we don't take vans( its the same vehicle).
On our return found the toilet was upside down, obviously driven violently, the gearbox seemed stiff, leading to complete failure, repair costs were more than vehicles worth, so I scrapped it.
When I asked "Chris" the manager for some compensation he stated previously " that old van", he vehemently told me "not a penny"!
Well, "that old vehicle" paid two lots of cash profit....and no receipt given!
Unbelievably bad!
Unbelievably bad!! Only one minibus when literally a plane full of people needing it, which they know. Then car was blocked in so had to wait for an absolute age at 0032 in the morning. They maybe cheap but it’s worth paying the extra to go with another company. Don’t use these guys. An absolute joke!!
Terrible experience
Terrible experience! Having returned from holiday we rang Oakwood as instructed.
Travelling with 2 small children we waited in the rain to be collected. Only to find swarms of people waiting too and only one van to take us all. We waited 40 minutes for the third run of the one van to get to our car.
The driver was rude and had no consideration for who had been waiting the longest, the fastest to jump in the packed van was the winner. We were never going to win with two toddlers, a buggy and a load of cases. The rude driver then drove like a lunatic rally driver! Never again.
Oakwood parking Review
Oakwood parking Review
I phoned the mobile number to arrange transport from Bristol Airport back to Oakwood parking.
A male voice answered and snapped “I have just left”. I started to say that does not help us and asked how long it would be for him to return.
The driver simply hung up on me.
When the driver returned some 15 minutes later, I asked the driver if it was him who hung up on me. He replied yes. I asked him why he had hung up on me, he replied “cos I had finished talking to you, got a f******* problem with that bro?”
I replied that we would talk later with his manager present. He started to shout at me “we will talk now not later” throwing a suitcase into the rear of the bus. At this point I considered that he was being very aggressive so I simply walked away from him and took a seat on the bus.
A few minutes later the driver came to the side door shouting directly at me “Who do you think you are? Do you own the company? He continued with the verbal assault for several minutes shouting at me to get out of the bus. I refused. A lady sitting next to me became quite concerned as her little girl was becoming frightened she said to the driver please stop shouting you are frightening the children. The driver ignored her and continued to shout at me. Several passengers asked the driver to stop shouting and pointed out that children were becoming distressed. A passenger asked for the driver’s name (Sheldon Isaac) and asked him to stop shouting and that this was neither the time nor place.
When we returned to Oakwood Parking I asked to speak with the manager and relayed the above facts to him. I also showed him a recording of the actual incident and also a video of the standing passengers in the overloaded vehicle.
During my conversation with the manager I identified that the company’s minibus is being operated not in accordance with his operator’s licence.
The vehicle was a Category D1 which has a maximum capacity of 16 seats.
A head count taken at the time showed that the vehicle was loaded with a total of 20 passengers and about 18 cases). The centre isle in the bus saloon was filled with cases. The exit door was fully blocked with suitcases. In the event of an accident or fire, escape from the vehicle would have been seriously impeded.
TRUST PILOT and TRIP ADVISOR reviews identify that this driver has a known history of verbally assaulting customers.
It is not credible that a large number of paying customers are being untruthful by identifying this man’s lack of interpersonal skills.
My car was entrusted to Oakwood parking in a clean condition. When it was returned to me it was covered in what looked like grey brick dust. The dash camera had been electrically immobilised and displaced.
On January 13th I and my 7 friends
On January 13th I and my 7 friends, all 55-year-old women, were coming out of Bristol airport and I rang Oakwood parking in Bristol to request the mini bus. The man on the end of the phone said you better run as I'm leaving now. We all started running and we're absolutely no more than 30 seconds away. I arrived first and said to the man thank you so much for waiting for us. He replied we had rung too early and was very aggressive.
I said that I was sorry we had rung early but thanked him profusely for waiting. He said I was being patronising towards him which I apologised again for and my friend said to him that I wasn't being patronising and that I was the loveliest kindest person she knew. He replied, "oh you are little miss perfect are you, little miss precocious." I couldn't believe it, so I apologised again but for what I don't know.
Everyone asked him to not be so aggressive and he replied, " you can all walk to your car if you like". This man was very frightening, his eyes were black, and he was very aggressive. My friend is a retired policewoman and she said he had committed a public order offence with his behaviour. It literally was unprovoked and to this day I don't know what we did to upset him. We all remained completely civil towards him partly because we were frightened. I honestly thought he could have had it in him to be violent towards us.
I can't imagine why he's employed with this company. He wouldn't have behaved like this to men!!
The two woman we collected the cars from were hugely unfriendly and didn't say one word to us either. I think the company must employ rude staff.
Having got back to my car I found the passenger side seat was virtually flat, the head rest was fully up and at an angle and the sunroof cover was closed. The 4 heaters were pointing towards the passenger seat. This suggests to me that whilst my car was in the car park someone had either slept in it waiting for passengers to return on their night shift or they just fancied a snooze in my car!!
I found the whole ordeal so upsetting and am appalled by this man’s behaviour. It can't go unnoticed or swept under the carpet as I fear for other female older more vulnerable passengers.
Untrustworthy, will not use again.
We have used this company once in the past with no problems, however this experience was very different. When we arrived at the airport on our return journey, we called the mobile number as we had been instructed to do so, in order to notify the company of our arrival so they could come to collect us. The number rang several times with no answer or voicemail feature. Eventually someone answered: "Hello?" -not very professional as we had to ask the if we had gotten through to Oakwood Parking. The person on the phone was less than courteous, I asked him where we should go to meet them and they responded "Don't you remember?" in a really rude tone. After explaining that we weren't sure and after a 4.5 hour flight we weren't in any fit mental state to remember, they gave a big sigh and repeated that we should meet them where they had dropped us off in the first instance. All we wanted was confirmation of where to go and they were so rude to us. When we got back to our car we noticed the odometer reading was 3 miles more than how we had left it. It says on their website that "cars maybe (may be) moved up to 4 miles each way" but with no explanation as to why or where they would be moved to - after viewing their "secure compound" in person it does not seem feasible that our car would have been driven around 3 miles in the space of 10 days. Makes us suspect that they used our car for their own personal errands to and from the airport which is approximately a mile away from the parking site. The website wording has poor spelling and grammar, and alarmingly they state that they do not "except" (accept) any liability for windscreen damage while cars are on their premises - why on earth would cars be potentially at risk of having their windscreens damaged in such a "secure compound"? Finally, when we arrived to our car it was covered in absolute filth, along with all the other cars around, the space in which the cars are parked is just gravel and stone, not exactly the best notion of "secure". Will not be using again.
