This is the most dishonest hire company…
This is the most dishonest hire company i have ever used. All was plain sailing until we got to the point of 'off hiring' the vehicle and then the additional invoices starting coming in! They tried to invoice us £2500 for excess mileage which was not correct as they'd incompetently recorded the 'off hire' mileage in miles not kilometers and have since sent another invoice for £1300 for supposed damage we have caused to the vehicle. As they have a direct debit in place they literally withdraw the money from your account! Thankfully i was able to cancel my direct debit before they could take the £2500. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY AT OFF HIRE STAGE. SO DISHONEST!

AVOID AVOID AVOID
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Have had no end of problems since the vehicles were delivered. As soon as the contact was signed they are hopeless. Brent Cross branch are all very rude, miserable on the phone and the branch manager is the meaning of RUDE who has no understanding of customer service. We had problems with the vehicles from day one, had to wait 4 1/2 hours for roadside assistance. Have had to wait a week for an appointment with a courtesy van and have arrived this morning and no courtesy van is available. The branch manager doesn't want to take any responsibility for the branch errors and I dont know how he has his job.
Once the contract is signed account managers palm you off to other departments who send you round in circles.
Worst business hire company ever, will not be using again. They promise you the world and dont deliver
Having seen all the other complaints its clear my case is not in isolation and it just how they decide to conduct their business.

“I drove my van NY19 HHO to Northgate…
“I drove my van NY19 HHO to Northgate Brent cross on Friday 10/06 for its MOT and service the following Tuesday 14/06. Having arranged with them to collect it on Saturday 18th June.
Rang Northgate Brent Cross (+44 20 3489 0299) on Thursday 16/06, got through said my vans MOT and service should be done by Friday (17/06) but ring again tomorrow to double check. Rang again on Friday kept being put on hold and then eventually being hung up on after 20 mins. Received a phone call from 01325 467558 Friday afternoon to let me know my van is ready to collect, made them aware that I would be coming to collect on Saturday in the morning.
After travelling from south London I arrived at Northgate at 11am (18/06) and saw my van outside the Northgate premises and in an unrelated parking facility. I waited in the waiting room for 10 mins, then decided to find someone and ask for the keys for my van. They were able to get the keys but said that there was an issue starting it when they were moving it back after rearranging the all the vans so has been out there for a while. When we opened the van the alarm kept going off and was having issues locking, whilst saying ‘energy mode activated’ on the dashboard. I had never experienced this issue before. Asked if there is anything the Northgate workers could do to fix this, they said no as a technician isn’t there, asked if I can have a replacement van they said no because there wasn’t anyone there that could process it and that they were just drivers (?). Confused as this left me with the only option being to come back on Monday 20/06 8am and wait for someone to fix the issue, but the whole reason behind coming on Saturday was so getting the van would not interfere with my work.
After a while, one of the workers relayed that the manager suggested trying to jump start it, this didn’t work. And resulted in no lights turning on and nothing coming up on the dashboard, as well as the electronic locking not working. Even more confused and relatively uncomfortable that the locking is not working properly whilst not even in the Northgate premises. Was told at this point nothing more anyone can do and that my only option was definitely to come back at 8am on Monday”.
The driver then (on my authority) used a UBER to get to his important work in Surrey on Saturday afternoon. This cost us £115. The driver has now to return to the Brent Cross depot this morning to await his van or another vehicle if indeed the depot are able to supply. I am sure that you will understand if we request reimbursement in this instance and in this circumstance.
