Bought a new 2018 Frontier and with less than 10000 miles the paint started chipping off. The original dealership did not do anything when I pointed it out. I had stopped at another dealership closer to home for warranty work(a leaking rear seal at a little over 30000 miles), pointed out the paint chipping and was then told of a paint test. Of course Nissan wrote off as rock chips. Not sure how you get rock chips on the sides and back. More especially when Nissans own paint test pulled paint off! Will NEVER buy again or recommend Nissan!
Another Nissan CVT Lemon....
Who makes a $40,000 car that will only travel 100,000 miles before major service ($5000) is required? Nissan, that's who.
I inherited a 2012 Murano with 55,000. Took it in for complete service of everything so I would know I was starting fresh. Now another 55,000 miles later the CVT (continuously variable transmission) has failed. To my surprise this happens a lot (search nissanmurano dot org/threads/failed-cvt.2002) to see that more than half fail between 100k and 120k. Needless to say I will never buy a car again with a limited life built into the vehicle. And that means I will never buy another Nissan. It's back to Honda, which carried me well over 200k before I gave it to a friend for another 150k (351k) with no transmission issues.
Unscrupulous Company!
Nissan is an unscrupulous company that makes shoddy vehicles and passes on the costs of their mistakes to the consumer. I would strongly advise against ever buying a Nissan, used or pre-owned. Even if you are considering a model that does not have a CVT transmission as described below, Nissan clearly does not take responsibility for their poor workmanship which leaves any Nissan customer vulnerable.
I own a 2013 Pathfinder Platinum (review written in 2019). Despite keeping up with all recommended maintenance, the transmission of this vehicle failed in 2017 at only 80,000 miles. Fortunately it was still covered under an extended warranty, and Nissan installed a new transmission. The transmission has just failed a second time, only 2.5 years and 60,000 miles after the first. Absolutely outrageous. Nissan refuses to offer any restitution for the failure of a nearly-new transmission that they installed 2 years ago. This is a known issue, and thousands of consumers around the country are having problems with the CVT transmissions in the 2013-2014 Pathfinders (including frequent failures at around 70,000 miles). In fact, Nissan settled a law suit stating that it knowingly put faulty transmissions in these vehicles. Yet they still try to suggest that there is no problem with these vehicles and that it is just ‘too bad’ for the customer that they wind up with a $5K repair. Shame on Nissan.
Sales/service, Cool Springs in Franklin, TN
Sales at Nissan of Cool Springs in Franklin is concerned 85% with bilking all it can from it’s customers. At least one sales person lied to me making false promises; when I had signed the papers and proceeded to drive home, I discovered that the car was not equipped as described. When I brought it back, he told me that the equipment I described was available only on costlier models.
His cynicism was shocking.
And the sales manager stood behind him.
I fear that this is good new to you, because yours is a typical too-big-to-exist corporation obsessed solely with more profits and more tens of millions in compensation that in a just society would be felony larceny.
Until now, however, I did have confidence in the Cool Springs service department. The technicians are excellent—to the best of the knowledge of a person like me, so bereft of the expertise possessed by those technicians.
But the ICC sensor has been a problem. It has been replaced once, and now it must be replaced anew.
I was called and informed that the part had been ordered and received at the dealership, but I could not come in because I was due for surgery.
Now recovering from that surgery, I was told that no appointment can be made until next Thursday—a week for now.
I am still on medical leave and I can take the car in today. Even tomorrow, a Saturday, or Monday.
The next available Saturday is not until November!
Am I a customer or a serf requesting a favor of a noble in the castle?
I have owned a 2018 Titan Platinum for…9 mos
I have owned a 2018 Titan Platinum for a number of months. Since 400 miles I have complained about the transmission. It jumps into too high of a gear and then "chugs" because it needs more power. It fails to downshift like all other multi speed transmissions ( Ram 8 speed etc). The factory expert agreed with the issue but said there was no fix. He stated that the engineers could be working on one but they never told him anything. The truck also starts out often in some gear other than 1st, like maybe 3rd. This is a safety hazard if you are pulling into fast moving traffic. Also the Nav is a total joke. It doesn't show street names....hmm. The radio has dozens of presets but they don't show you what channel is saved to a preset. If you let the truck idle very long in hot weather, the AC quits. Don't park and leave your parking lights on for safety, the truck is so smart it turns them off. And for only $58000 you too can enjoy a truck like this. Oh..the heated steering wheel doesn't heat. And Nissan will do nothing. They give the dealers no tools with which to resolve these problems. It is not the dealers fault they can't fix the truck, IT IS ALL ON NISSAN. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS POLITE BUT WORTHLESS.
I have a 15 versa
I have a 15 versa , it has a transmission issue at 66k miles and I was told that it is 6000 miles over the warranty and to " pound sand " . I have bought several nissans in my life and I will never buy another one . they show favoritism to who they want to . Nissan Titan SE king cab
I own a 2005 Nissan Titan SE king cab. The truck had a recall on the towing harness in 2006 for it catching on fire. I purchased my truck in 2016 and about a month ago while I was at the gas station the "fixed recall" part caught on fire again, AT THE GAS PUMP!!! I contacted Nissan USA to see if they would fix it as it was a recalled part and they told me that part was fixed in 2006, I told her obviously not. So now I have to shell out $2500 to fix a recall fix and all Nissan could say was, "we are not covering your part." Thanks Nissan for selling and not fixing your junk fire hazard truck! I'LL NEVER BUY OR RECOMMEND YOUR VEHICLES AGAIN!!! Buy a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge and save yourself some money and headaches!

This is my third Nissan and I have zero problem with the car, yes it makes some of the best cars under the sun that’s why used to be Dr. son
2015 Nissan Murano
I purchased a 2015 Nissan Murano June 2015 because my family and I love the new body design, over all performance in nice and I wish I did not have to send a bad review. My problem is with the tires installed on this vehicle by Continental Tire, I first started noticing the problem around 25k miles; I noticed cracks and pieces of rubber are coming off tires. at 26,000 I contact Nissan customer service and continental tire with no success. This experience is leaving a bad taste of customer satisfaction by Nissan USA for next time I decide to buy another new vehicle. I do not think is fair that buying a $40k vehicle should need new tires before the 50 to 60k miles. I took my vehicle in to Mossy Nissan in Houston the dealership I purchased from, and I been told that Nissan denied any warranty on tires. I am in the auto service industry and I know the importance of maintaining once vehicle so I rotate the tires twice year. When I first notice the problem I check the alignment thanking that it may be alignment issue but was not the case; in fact my front end tech explained that a new vehicle should not need a alignment unless it had been on an accident or in abused driving. Our family's vehicle is used for pleasure weekend driving, and week wife works 5 minutes from home; so must of regular city driving about 7,500 miles per year, other highway miles 3 to 4 trips to the Valley in the last 3 years.

My name is Alisha, horrible experience with Jenkins Nissan in Lakeland fl.
My name is Alisha, I received a called from kendall Miller stating that I could upgrade my currant Nissan for a brand new one around the same price. Before I went into the dealership I made sure I called Kendell and informed her the exact vehicle brand and mode I wanted. I also expressed that I lived an hour away and I didn't want to waste her time or mine if it if the vehicle I wanted was not an option. Being that a purchased a Brand new vehicle from them 4 years ago I trusted what she said. She told me that I am a loyalty customer with Nissan that they would do everything to make it happenand that I could get the exact vehicle I wanted for around the same payments, When I arrived she greeted me and I sat down with very nice man who's only been working there a few months.. not only did they waste my time but the payments were over $200 MORE THAN WHAT I WAS ALREADY PAYING. When I explained to the man what Kendall and her co worker Recardo promised me, he stated that he;s never heard of that happening before. He then called them on the phone to have them come out of the glass room, which was clearly visible and speak with me. Not only did they never come out, my fiance and I were the only customers in there! They were on their cells just ignoring us, while we watched them. After waiting for a while and watched strolling on their cell phones and conversing in the room with other employees laughing, I asked the man that was helping us to pull the recording if he thought we weren't being honest.. he then stated he didn't want to go through all of that.. We then walked over to the room where they all were and they still ignored us.. long story short I drove almost an hour and a half at rush hour for them to lie to me just to get me in the door! And then could not look me in the eye and be honest! My first car was a Nissan and my whole family has Nissan's. We will never purchase another Nissan again just from this experience! I feel like I was mislead and lied to and no cared.. They just wanted my sale. These people will say whatever it takes to get you there!
Read this story as this can happen to …
Read this story as this can happen to anyone. This rating is not all based on the dealership, but has a definite large impact on them because Management was spoken to and they stated nothing could be done. I was hospitalized for almost 2 months and could not make a payment from the hospital and because of my circumstances. when I got out I contact Nissan regarding my late payment to see if they can remove it from my record and I was flat out denied. I also sent letters to several higher ups within Nissan and in no uncertain terms, I told me I was S.O.L. that they would not change it for anyone or any circumstances. I also contacted Mercedes which I have a lease with as well and 3 credit card companies I used for medical bills and deductibles and, EVERY ONE OF THEM UNDERSTOOD AND REMOVED THE LATE FEES AND REMOVED REPORTING IT 60 DAYS LATE ON MY CREDIT REPORT, NOT NISSAN !!!!
I have purchased and leased 5 or 6 Nissan in my lifetime and never ever late, all paid in full and as agreed. I fall in hard times not because of finances but because of health and the minute I get out i Pay it yet Nissan could care less and did not remove the late fees that were not my doing and due because of Health. Keep in mind that I am not one to have not paid this, instead I was so upset I paid the remainder of the Lease that was a total of over $7000 only to prove that it was not because of not having money to pay and because of my Hospitalization and still Nissan could care less and did not change it.
I contacted Management as well as other dealerships being that I would continue to lease Nissan if they would of helped, but they too turned their backs on me and some especially this one never called me back or apologized for Nissan. This company is Heartless, i know that if this would of been an American brand vehicle they would of helped, but Nissan low ratings is there for a reason. Please pay close attention to this as this too can be you. Make your own decision on this company.
The gps system cannot be updated except …
The gps system cannot be updated except for every other year I am told by a Nissan dealership. When it is updated it still can't find places that have been around for a long tim. It got me lost several times and had to pull my cell phone out and use google navigation. If you do purchase an update which is on an ad card get ready to spend way over $100.
Don't waste your money on a company that refuses to stand behind their product.
After less than 8 years the clear coat on my Nissan Altima Hybrid is peeling and flaking off. When I called Nissan Corporate, Nissan's attitude was "Tough Bounce". My rejoinder is, "I will never buy another Nissan again. Any time I am asked my opinion about Nissan, I'll tell the asker, 'Find another car company'."
Nissan, you just bought a "million dollars" of negative advertising.
I got my first new Nissan 20 years ago
I got my first new Nissan 20 years ago. Had a number of them over the years. Now that I have a problem, I realize that there are serious issues with both the mechanic service and the customer service. The car has been in the shop 4 times and I have been car-less for a month because they can't figure out what's wrong. Customer service is poor with people not returning calls, not escalating to supervisors when asked- all I am asking is a car to drive while they figure out the problem and fix it. Very sad.
Love it !!!
Website is very informative and love the build features. Led me to buy my Altima and then a Versa.
Great reliable cars
NISSAN ROGUE TRANSMISSION
We noticed our 2009 Rogue was acting sluggish when starting off after stopping and thought it was a problem with the fuel filter or such. Then the RPMs started bouncing around. We finally determined it was the transmission. We contacted Nissan and were informed that since the warranty had just expired, and we were not taking our car to the local Nissan dealer for all its maintenance work including oil changes (so we are not considered Loyal Nissan owners), they would not do anything to help us. We were quoted $4700 with a used casing if we want them to repair it. No thanks. Really liked Nissan until this happened.
A excellent vehicle in this price range
I can sympathize with some of the negative reviews, because Nissan had problems with several of their 2002 to about 2010 frontier trucks. I just purchased a 2016 frontier crew cab SV, and I'm glad I waited to get one now because on the 2016 they have resolved all the earlier problems and incorporated the upgrades in all their new vehicles including their cars and SUVs. I understand the persons who purchased the earlier vehicles, all participated in the recall program and they were taking care of. I'm enjoying my new truck, and you should not judge this vehicle on past history. Also being a retired mechanic you know I climbed under and around this vehicle when I got home, excellent engineering solid construction.
