Our 12 year old Tiguan was just perfect apart fro. Being a manual gearbox.
When the time came to change cars because of a leg injury we chose an automatic VW T-Roc that I had been longing for.
Sadly as the car is brilliant the touch screen and software is diabolically frustrating and making me regret buying the later car.

Manufacturers decide what they think we want and often get it wrong.
The screen menus tab leads you to a dozen more menus to set the car up as you want only to have them revert to default again the next time the car is started.
Service information is not available to the owner/driver but only agents.
I'm beginning to dislike using the car.

Walked into service to pick up my car…

Walked into service to pick up my car and stood in the lobby a good 10 mins and still wasn’t acknowledged. Another woman walks in and she gets acknowledgment right away. Absolutely not! Next time I’ll take my car across town for servicing. I don’t like to throw the race card but it’s pretty obvious when I’m standing there for 10 mins not getting greeted by anyone and someone of a different hue walks in and gets greeted and helped right away. Funny how the treatment is a lot different when you guys are making a sale. Work on your customer service skills. Very poor behavior from the service staff. Beware Of Findlay Volkswagen of Henderson, Nevada

Asked for 3 months to breath while having treatment. 45 out 48 payments made before balloon. Asked for lone restructured earlier as all bills now on freeze exalant credit score is now fair
Ballon wont go through never missed a payment till now . It is disgusting how they treat you. Never again

Absolutely shocking customer service…

Absolutely shocking customer service and poor quality car. I could write a short book documenting the amount of issues I've had with a VW car (brand new) in the last three years. Customer care is non responsive at times, unreliable (won't return calls or follow up as they said they would), very poor experience overall. Would not recommend VW.

Terrible Taos

I have a Taos as well as my daughter. She brought hers in because check engine light wouldn’t go out. They called to say they also found a coolant leak and because of a design problem, they needed to remove head gasket to fix and it would cost $3,700. Because it was only 1,600 miles beyond 50k warranty, I asked VW if they would do anything to help, but answer was no. This is an issue they are aware of but no recall. It’s the 4th VW we’ve bought and certainly the last.

VW approved used potential non compliance

I am writing this review following an extremely disappointing experience with both Volkswagen UK Customer Services and a franchised Volkswagen retailer operating under the Volkswagen Approved Used scheme.

I purchased a Volkswagen vehicle which was sold as a Volkswagen Approved Used car. Vehicles sold under this scheme are marketed as having undergone a comprehensive inspection and preparation process designed to ensure that they meet Volkswagen’s quality and compliance standards before sale.

Unfortunately, my experience suggests that these standards were not met.

After purchasing the vehicle it became apparent, based on the service history documentation provided with the car, that there was outstanding service work due within a short timeframe of the purchase date. This raises serious concerns about whether the vehicle actually met the eligibility criteria required to be sold under the Volkswagen Approved Used programme.

Despite repeatedly requesting documentation relating to the vehicle’s pre-sale preparation and inspection – including the multi-point check (MPC) sheet – this documentation has still not been provided.

The absence of this documentation is particularly concerning because one of the key checks within the Approved Used inspection relates to whether all service work due within a specified period has been completed prior to sale.

If this work was not completed, then the vehicle should not have been sold under the Approved Used scheme. If it was certified as compliant despite outstanding service work, then serious questions arise about the integrity of the inspection process.

Equally disappointing has been the handling of the complaint by Volkswagen UK Customer Services.

Over the course of several weeks I experienced:

• Missed scheduled call-backs from Volkswagen Customer Services
• Repeated lack of responses to calls and emails
• Minimal proactive engagement with the retailer
• Requests from Volkswagen asking me for updates on the situation with the dealership — something that should clearly be managed by Volkswagen when they are handling a formal complaint

Information obtained through a Subject Access Request suggests that Volkswagen UK's involvement with the retailer has been extremely limited, despite the seriousness of the complaint and the fact that the vehicle was sold under a programme that carries the Volkswagen brand.

Volkswagen promotes the Approved Used scheme as providing reassurance and quality control for customers purchasing used vehicles through franchised retailers. However, when a customer raises concerns that a vehicle may not meet the scheme’s own criteria, it is reasonable to expect Volkswagen to take an active role in ensuring that the standards associated with its brand are upheld.

Unfortunately this has not been my experience.

At the time of writing the situation remains unresolved and the vehicle remains unused while a significant amount of money remains tied up in a car that may not comply with the standards it was sold under.

I hope Volkswagen UK reviews how complaints involving vehicles sold under the Approved Used scheme are handled in future, and ensures that customers who rely on the credibility of the programme receive the support and oversight that the Volkswagen brand implies.

Further to this, Volkswagen UK Customer Services have indicated that a franchised Volkswagen dealership selling a non-compliant vehicle under the Volkswagen Approved Used scheme is effectively a matter solely between the customer and the dealership.

A consumer would reasonably assume that where a vehicle is sold under a branded manufacturer scheme, Volkswagen UK would have some degree of responsibility in ensuring that franchised retailers comply with the standards required by that scheme.

A consumer would also reasonably expect that concerns regarding potential non-compliance with the Approved Used programme would receive meaningful oversight and engagement from Volkswagen UK, rather than being dismissed as solely a matter between the customer and the dealership.

Finally, a complainant would also expect that updates provided by Volkswagen UK during a complaint investigation would be accurate and reflect the current situation, rather than information that appears to be significantly out of date.

A Masterclass in How to Break the Simplest Promise a Car Can Make of the most persistent claims made…

One of the most persistent claims made about electric vehicles is their supposed simplicity — fewer moving parts, reduced mechanical complexity, and therefore greater reliability.
The Volkswagen ID.3 appears determined to challenge that premise.
A vehicle marketed as the future of mobility has entered a state where its headlights remain permanently illuminated after being locked, behaving less like a precision-engineered product and more like a malfunctioning prop from a low-budget science fiction set.
This is not an exotic edge case involving advanced driver assistance or obscure features. This is lighting. The most elementary behavioural contract a car can satisfy: lock the vehicle → lights turn off.
What makes the experience particularly absurd is the contrast with everyday consumer technology. A cheap smartphone — a device orders of magnitude more complex in software terms — manages power states, sleep cycles, and resource control with flawless reliability. Yet a premium-priced vehicle struggles with the binary question of whether it should continue projecting light into my neighbourhood indefinitely.
The industry narrative tells us EVs should be inherently more dependable due to reduced mechanical complexity. Incidents like this suggest complexity has not disappeared — it has merely migrated into software and state management, where failures are arguably more baffling and less forgivable.
To compound the situation, Volkswagen’s earliest service availability is roughly a month away, leaving me with what can only be described as a driveway-mounted lighthouse and neighbours reasonably wondering whether the vehicle intends to remain illuminated for the foreseeable future.
If this is the operational reality of “simpler” software-defined vehicles, the reliability argument for EVs deserves serious reconsideration.
One expects innovation to improve fundamentals. Not regress on them

Now my car is damaged, I have a ticket, and VW just says they can't do anything and that I should call my insurance company because it's not their problem. I feel like an idiot for believing I would receive assistance and support from VW.

Zero stars if I could

Zero stars if I could. Customer service is useless!!!! VW dealership Joe Duffy wrecked my car during a service and now it lost power and is off the road. Needs a new engine because the filter wasn’t put back on securely and caused a diesel leak. Thank God I didn’t have my kids in the car when it happened and wasn’t on the motorway. Have had issues from day 1 with an almost €40k car. Really not happy and NO ONE is doing anything to fix my concerns with an unsafe car that isn’t fit for the road. Only have the car 1 year. Next route is legal!

Jeg har i ca 1 år forsøgt at få VW til at fikse et problem med manglende kabinevarme.
De kan ikke finde ud af det og kommer uafbrudt med henholdende svar.
Dette er min 3. og sidste VW.
Jeg kan ikke acceptere så ekstremt dårlig en kundeservice.

We have an ID4 2022 and these cars have faults that are not being rectified where other better manufacturers would see them as recalls. I brought it in for a service due to the interior screen dimming and the door alignment being off and at times the door would not close - turns out these are known issues. Anyway paid the 300 euros for the service but they didnt do anything with the door or screen, turns out the screen is just a fault you have to put up with. I brought it back for the door as more serious and it happened again a few times and they charged me 100 euros to looks at it and then said I need a new lock and when I asked them about alignment they were puzzeled - These cars are a scam do not buy - we have a Kia ev6 and is a way better car

Dégouté !

Bonjour à tous, je vous raconte ma mésaventure.
Possesseur d'un T_Roc 2l TDI 150 4w de 2018 avec 120000 km, j'entends un bon matin, un espèce de flap...flap... dans le compartiment moteur côté gauche.
Bref, l'endroit où les 2 courroies (distrib et accessoires) font leur office. On arrive visuellement grosso-modo dans le compartiment moteur, à voir la courroie accessoires qui visiblement était correct.... donc rien de bon pour sa consœur la courroie de distrib.... Donc au concessionnaire VW du coin, le verdict appréhendé est confirmé: courroie de distribution HS (pas cassé évidemment, mais en lambeau). Je vous fait grâce du tarif astronomique et non justifié de VW pour un forfait distribution... vous connaissez la maison environ 1400 euros:lol:.

Problème, le remplacement de la distribution du T-roc TDI 150 est a effectuer à..... 210000 km d'après la concession

Et quid de l'issue fatale du moteur, si j'avais été un personne lambda qui s'en tient à son "carnet d'entretien" sans se soucier du reste ?

J'ai essayé de renégocier la prise en charge complète, refus systématique avec le discours bien rodé de tous les SAV de la terre: "Nous sommes navrés bla...bla....bla...mais.... NON !"

La remise globale de VW d'environ 27% me semble insuffisante car d'une part, la concession de Bernay m'a obligé à prendre le forfait total distribution alors que la courroie seule était à remplacer (à noter qu'aucun autre élément n'était défectueux), donc une remise de 27% de 1400 euros à cause d'un vice caché parait bien peu. Sans compter et notamment je me répète, du moteur qui l'a échappé belle, ...ou alors je considère que j'ai eu de la chance et je me la ferme...

L'entretien des 120000 avait été effectué 1 mois avant dans la concession (avec les "milliards de contrôles" qu'ils disent dans la pub :sleep: )
Ayant déjà eu un problème de distribution (tendeur de chaîne) sur une polo, inutile de vous préciser que VW et son service clientèle: FINI POUR MOI!
Alors possesseurs des T-Roc 2L 150 TDI: Faites gaffe !!!
