At certain points, communication was a little slow, and there were times when we didn’t hear anything for a couple of days. However, whenever we contacted the team for an update, they were very responsive and helpful.

Overall, we were really pleased with the service. Given the circumstances we were dealing with at the start, the team were particularly supportive, understanding and reassuring throughout. We really appreciated their help and guidance and would definitely recommend their services.

Quite straightforward with communication mainly through e-mail. We completed purchase of the property in 3 months from the day we started the process and there was a chance for quicker turnaround if not sellers solicitors causing delays. I'd only say if you go ahead with them be mindful of extra fees they're trying to charge you for and check the invoice twice! Overall we had a good experience.

New homes law made the process very smooth with great communication.

Just reiterating my previous review, please do avoid New Homes Law.

My initial quote was £2.6k, from my own research I was expecting additional costs. However, I was not expecting my fees to rise up to £4.4k of “third party costs”. Responses between the caseworkers are terrible, replies in days, no answer to your queries, skeptical about the due diligence. Process proposed to take roughly 4 months turned into 7 months. Just please do avoid the headache, there is surely a better conveyancer. After all the prolonged issues, they included an “expedite fee” of £695 in my statement, after disputing that it was finally reduced to £180 which I refused to pay and it was scrapped. Only for them to contact me a day before completion at 4:52pm to say they forgot to include additional fees of £528.

We had a positive exchange process with new homes law. Everything was easy to complete and clear as to what was needed. They were very well priced compared to other solicitors. Jack, Grace and Millie were very helpful gave us clear updates throughout the process.

My experience selling my home with New Homes Law was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The sale took over six months to complete, which is unbelievable considering I had used them to buy the same house just a year earlier.

The first issue was being pressured into paying an extra £200 to “expedite” the Land Registry process. I was told that if I didn’t pay, it would delay the sale. I reluctantly agreed, but as far as I could tell, it made absolutely no difference to how quickly the Land Registry came back. It felt like money taken for nothing.

The lack of communication throughout the entire process was shocking. The only time they seemed quick to get in touch was when they wanted payment or expected me to chase up certificates and documents that I believe they should have been dealing with themselves.

I also know that I wasn’t the only person left frustrated. The housing association, my buyer, and even the buyer’s solicitors all seemed fed up with the constant delays, unanswered emails, and apparent lack of urgency. Every time I contacted certain members of the team (not all), I was left feeling like I was inconveniencing them just by asking for an update.

To top it all off, on completion day they received the sale funds at 9am. I was told the money would be transferred to my account the same day,It finally arrived the NEXT day with the WRONG AMOUNT! They are now telling me that there was an extra charge NOT MENTIONED IN MY FINAL INVOICE. After everything else I’d experienced, it was just another example of the poor service I received. 2 weeks later I’ve still not received the money they owe me.

I can honestly say this is one of the worst professional services I have ever paid for. I would never use New Homes Law again, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. If you’re considering using them, I’d strongly advise looking elsewhere.

Once I got used to the majority of communication being through email, versus telephone and letter on my previous purchase; it was a very straight forward process.
The paperwork was dealt with very swiftly and after a few weeks the exchange was made relatively simply.
Now I know how New Homes Law operate i would use them in the future, they are professional and quickly move the process along.

From start to end they have all been really helpful and supportive. Grace was really professional and made the whole journey feel less stressful as she didn’t send loads of excess emails. The only meh thing was when I said I’ll send the money tomorrow and I got a few calls and emails at 12 asking have I sent it, which felt weird as it was still early. Other than that it’s been great experience with lovely staff. Thank you again to Grace!

The team worked very fast to have everything ready for our chosen completion date. The whole process only took around 6 weeks.

I would recommend explanations to be more simplistic and more clarification of processes for those who are buying for the first time as the process can be confusing. However, whenever i had a question, it was answered swiftly.

I wouldn’t recommend New Homes Law to anyone. In fact I’d advise people against using them.
They definitely delayed my exchange and completion. In the end I was emailing daily asking when I could complete.
Poor communication, emails would go unanswered. Calls would take 2/3 times before I’d get through to someone.
I’m unsure if my solicitor was real. She wouldn’t reply to my emails other people would and whenever I called she was never available and it would always be someone else I spoke to. If they called me it was always someone else.
I was quoted just under £2000. The day before I completed my final invoice I ended up being charged almost double that. I emailed questioning it and asking why my quote was so much lower. Email ignored. Nobody answering the phone. It was less than 24 hours before I completed so I had to pay or I wouldn’t have been able to complete. That email still hasn’t been answers and it’s been 5 days. I don’t hold my breath. So many of my emails were ignored. I was told £100 off if I signed with them.. that wasn’t on my final invoice either.
I had a LISA. There was an issue with the address when they submitted to withdraw it. My bank the LISA was with emailed them the same day to tell them this. 18 days later the money was still in my account. I called the LISA people because New Homes Law just kept saying we’ve not heard from them and they told me the issue and how they’d emailed 18 days prior and heard nothing. I sorted the address and then it went through. That could have been done 18 days earlier.
I also got an email asking for the remainder of my deposit to be sent over. Then got a panic email from someone else saying Don’t send us any money your money laundering check hasn’t been completed so I didn’t send the money.
Three weeks later I’m being chased for my deposit but nobody had told me to send the money since I was told not to send the money.
Another example of the poor communication was an enquiry regarding fibre optic, which delayed our exchange. I received an email saying we were waiting for the seller’s solicitors to respond before we could proceed, despite never having been told that this enquiry had been raised.I replied asking what they meant by “fibre optic”. Another solicitor at New Homes Law responded that they thought the query had come from me and would need to check. It later transpired that the enquiry had actually been raised by another solicitor at New Homes Law on my behalf. I have no issue with solicitors raising enquiries where necessary. However, I was concerned that the solicitor corresponding with me didn’t know who had raised the enquiry and initially assumed it had come from me. This demonstrated a lack of communication within the team and contributed to delaying our exchange.To this day, I have never even been told what the outcome of that enquiry was or whether the concern was resolved.

New Homes Law made my move so much more stressful. They definitely are the reason completion took so much longer.
