Impossible to log on to the portal to renew my policy, impossible to talk to anyone, they make life so difficult for motorcycle insurance. I’m once again waiting to talk to someone it’s now another 30 minutes

Quite straight forward to use and cost was better than my previous insurers renewal price?

Process was so easy start to finish. The website was very clear and provided all the information I needed to allow me to make an informed decision. Obviously the price was a major factor but not the only factor. Good reputation clear pricing and choice were also major considerations. Instant access to my documents. Couldn’t be happier. Thank you.

Shocking, found MD using a comparison website. Looking for 50cc scooter insurance, only option is bike. Changed details to full car all good. Received documents, I suddenly had full bike insurance. Contacted MD using their chat. Got put on hold for ages to talk to a person.
The person was totally unknowledgeable about bike insurance. Was requoted twice the price, so I cancelled. Got charged £60 admin fee. RIP OF COMPANY.

If you READ the review, it explains. Further the agent did not really have a clue.
And again I changed the settings on the compare website to moped........
I had allready paid the price of the insurance, then received the paperwork, when I read this it stated full licence.
I would have been driving around uninsured and illegally. So don't talk rubbish, look at YOUR systems. Bye-bye.

After trying to proceed with the original quote, the payment was not processing, so I spoke with the chat, who advised me their system doesn’t like safari and to move to chrome. After doing this, and putting the web reference in, it did not find my details or any record of the quote. I did it all again and had the same issue. 2 soft searches, no policy and the most unhelpful chat service, who ignored me after I said I wanted to make a complaint. Stay well away. I have screenshots of the chat to compliment the above.

Got insurance from this company changed bike after 2 weeks the company would not give me a quote for new b8ke then wanted the years balance to cancel then went into my bank account and took money without my permission claiming they had to pay for breakdown up front which was included in the policy stay away from this company charlatans.
They also use a company called premiere credit who does a hard credit search for the price off a 100 pounds which hits your credit report hard any other company uses a soft search for such a small amount so for 110pound premium they charged me 95 pound cancellation which was there fault not giving me a new quote and it has hit my credit score which was worth more than there premium even speaking to someone didn't help they took the money anyway so if I've paid for a breakdown service for a year where are the details no can't get that information either so save your money your credit score stay away from this company because if anything should happen while your insured don't expect any assistance seeing i paid for breakdown cover for the year give me the details to contact the company so I can transfer to my new bike

Took them three days to come back from a query and trebled the price. Still the details were inaccurate and my details have not changed, except no points on licence. Was impossible to correct online.
If you want to call them 0344 800 966 this is the number they don't want you to know.
Used MCN comparison and got a way better deal.

Dreadful, appalling, shocking, con artists, rip off merchants...AVOID ! filled in the online quote, all good . Checked the documents that arrived by email, found a couple of discrepancies so had to use the live chat to amend the details. Was told that I had filled it in wrong on the online form ( bull shit !) charged me £48 to amend the quote and then a £20 admin fee ! Now I've been told I've not admitted to a insurance claim (that I had no knowledge of) and now they want another £48 plus a £50 fee... Absolutely shocking, and that on line chat, f. me ! Awful... Had my pants pulled down with these , they reel you in with a good quote then continue to rob you. Great way to start with a new customer.

1 hour 10 minutes waiting in a ‘chat’ queue after not being able to advise of change of bike online due to newly registered bike not appearing in the database

Accordingly cancelled insurance despite the admin fee of £50.
Very poor customer service.

Absolutely shocking insurance company, sky high renewals and then show up on comparison sites half the price for the same cover. Their emails always go through to your junk and they are very difficult to speak to. Overall terrible don’t use

Really disappointed in Motorcycle Direct’s cancellation approach, and no attempt at a phone call/email/letter. Posting on the portal with a single ‘pay within 7 days’ is not reasonable and passing the issue onto debt control&pay extra.Poor experience: needs urgent fix.

Appalling ! I don't use online services I'd need a person on the phone not a portal not a chat bot not anything I need to communicate to a human ! So after 40 minutes I get a human i ask for hard copies for filing as I have 3 bikes insured with this company. Its changed its not suitable for older bikers who need a person at the end of the phone ! Then I get my new bike insured i ask for hard copies to be posted to me she agrees and send me a email saying for all paperwork use the portal !!!? WTF when I was on the phone prior I told her my email address isn't registered with 'The Portal' hence needing a phone call so she sends me all my paperwork via a portal I cannot use & im not registered for yet she was quick enough to take my payment for my new bike !!! These are a very one-sided company & really took the piss today !! I just need good old telephone conversation & paperwork to file ! I wasn't listened to or heard ......or helped for that matter bit of a joke & ultimately pissed me off as a customer......

Not letting me cancel my policy

Absolutely worthless customer portal.

No way to contact via phone so your only choice is live chat which asks you to confirm details that you can literally see on the page after login.

Insurance was done through Allianz, but they don't give you access to the Allianz account so you can't use their portal and have to instead get redirected between teams on the phone lines which aren't designed for complex queries.

My motorbike was stolen and the payout took 5 weeks following the writeoff and confirmation that they were going to pay out.
What's notable about that is that once the bike is written off, you have to have a replacement bike within 23 days otherwise the policy is cancelled automatically.
Without payment, I couldn't afford a new bike, so my policy was automatically cancelled.

When I queried this to try and get an extension, they could only give me a week and said I needed to contact Allianz for a further extension, which I couldn't reach without access to the Allianz portal.

The customer service agent was replying in broken English and cut me off with no explanation, which initially I thought was due to my internet dropping, but after waiting in the queue for another 45 minutes, the new agent explained was intentional.

Side note, one of the claims contact numbers on the portal is old and so I could only find the correct number through the live chat.

Could not recommend a company less.
Fork out the extra money for a more reputable insurance company, you'll save yourself a massive headache.

The online application was very straightforward, the terms easily understood and competitive. 👍🏼

Pretty straightforward process to order my bike cover, however it’s not clear if you require evidence of my no claims , I tried to contact you on your chat but this was unobtainable at the time according to the site.
