Tried to cancel
Could not log into a stupid portal the only way they will communicate
Could t get anyone on chat it’s only open certain hours
And emails are bounced back and not responded too
No telephone number to speak to a human
Got email today ages after cancelled and selling moped and they saying they sending me to a best collection agency for no paying an early cancellation fee!
I’d have no email no letter nothing before this email
Last email I got was to say your policy cancelled
Which took me ages of clicking around their stupid website
I’ve had no notice just this threat which had upset me as I always paid on time!
Jist spent half hour with agent on chat who sent me 3 payment links one didn’t work said expired second gave me someone else’s name and address breaching gdpr
And third she sent me to portal which I didn’t have access too and logged off and left conversation!
There was even a spelling mistake on the page to say link expired!
Very unprofessional and u can’t speak to a person and customer service is awful

really wanted to speak with someone about my existing policy, no means to contact unless through the customer portal to which I cant get onto, really frustrating.

Very, very poor service if you are asking anything the not programmed in the Chatbox. Spent hours trying to change my bike details, only to be informed they couldn't insure the new bike, even though was the same newer model.

Take a while using chat but service was fantastic and if you take the time to fully explain the situation they go out of their way to provide the best cover

Wrong details put on policy ,policy wasn’t due to start for another three days and was charged to cancel and a set up fee .Will not use this company again !

Extremely disappointed – £68.75 cancellation fee on the same day for a policy that was never needed

I purchased a motorcycle insurance policy from Motorcycle Direct at 3pm today because I was in the process of buying a motorbike. Unfortunately, the bike purchase fell through shortly afterwards, so I immediately contacted them to cancel the policy.
Despite the policy having been in place for only a few hours and no cover actually being used (as I never took ownership of the bike), they charged me a £68.75 cancellation fee.
I understand that companies have administration costs, but charging nearly £70 for cancelling on the same day – before any meaningful cover was provided and right at the start of the 14-day cooling-off period – feels excessive and unfair. This was not a long-term policy that I was terminating early; it was a purchase that became redundant within hours due to circumstances beyond my control.
This experience has left a very sour taste. I would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious when buying insurance from Motorcycle Direct, especially if there's any uncertainty around the purchase of your bike. Check their cancellation terms very carefully before committing.
I will not be using them again.

I have a question that is not answered by their portal and the online chat in inpenetrable as all the portal says is "message us" but doesn't tell you how to message them.... absolute crap service

Called today to re insure my bike. Elaine was extremely helpful and sorted out my no claims bonus saving me some money. Didn't rush on the phone and made everything clear.

Absolutely shocking service... their text chat in customer portal hasn't worked for weeks, only number to call them on is a claims line, if you try that they just keep putting the phone down on you! I am going to report them to the insurance ombudsman and insurance regulatory board, honestly- just don't even contemplate insuring anything with these clowns.

No email or telephone number is provided for help and everything is supposed to go through their "customer portal" which DOESN'T WORK on many web browsers. This makes it incredibly complicated and frustrating to communicate with them. I will switch to an insurer that can answer an email or pick up the phone.
