Mitre10 advertise items available for home delivery on their website, however it turns out that once you enter your address details, unless that item is in stock at a store in close proximity to you, they won't post it.

This is ridiculous. - You should be able to order from ANY store and have the item posted to you ANYWHERE in NZ. - I can order items from Bunnings (as well as other DIY / hardware stores) that are located at any store in NZ and they will ship from the specified store that has stock on hand. - But NO, not Mitre10.

Frankly, they should just get rid of the option for online ordering for delivery and stop misleading customers.

I bought a LawnMaster mower from Mitre 10 Kaitaia last month, tried it out when I got home but couldn't stop it. My husband eventually disconnected spark plug. Anyway rang Mitre 10, a guy in a very offhanded manner told me to take it in to a lawnmower repair in Kaitaia, "if you bring it back to us, we're only going to take it there anyway so saves time for us both, yeah, yeah blah blah" (a round trip of 150km so not just a hop away). Pissed off not only by arrogance during purchase but also how the salesman responded. Incidentally there were a few negative reviews to that very issue, (inability to stop mower) so why was that complaint still happening? The mower however is excellent now that issue fixed.

Spent over $7000 on a kitchen and then was charged $57 for a pallet bond (even though the pallet had $40 written on it). I estimate is cost me over $120 in time and diesel to return the pallet. Really bad experience Mitre 10 Porirua. Particularly on a high margin product like a kitchen.

Update: One of the team from Mitre10 (I forgot her name) fixed the problem.

The store manager is rude and aggressive.

It started with him aggressively shouting “good morning” at me (when I (presumably) failed to hear him say it the first time round).

When he didn’t know about, or have the product I was after, I said thanks, and no thanks to the alternatives he offered, and walked off.

He then charged down an aisle to tell me about the products I’d said I wasn’t interested in.

He stuck his hand out and offered his name, as if to say I’m the boss around here. He’s a big guy. With a loud voice and shouting. No smiles. Just pushing in. It was quite daunting.

I said I wasn’t interested in the other products (I’ve done the research and I know what I want). He said he was trying to help. Maybe he was, but his style is aggressive and in your face. I told him so.

He told me I was rude. I said I’d been going to the store for 15 years and never experienced anything like it. He said I was not welcome, Suggesting I go to Bunnings.

I have spent 000s of dollars in that Mitre 10. Going there over the new Bunnings on the basis I am loyal and I like many of the staff there.

Never again. What a ridiculous approach to customer service.

Went to mitre ten manukau today and saw their security guard standing outside and displaying his middle finger to mitre ten customers. Some customers turned away in disgust. I'm really surprised that mitre ten allow such unprofessional behaviour and wonder if it is a reflection of their own staff.

Went into Albany Store today to purchase wood pellets
Im an older lady so struggle to pick bags up
A very helpful young man on the returns desk came over waited until i paid for them took trolley out snd loaded into my car

We hired a 2 x rug doctors from Mitre 10 Gisborne. One did not work at all. The other we used and at tge end cleaned and returned. They claimed the brush was dirty and refused to return the $50 deposit. Moral if the story - just returned it filthy, don't even empty it make them work for their $50.

Sarah James, manager of store, demonstrates terrible customer service and so cowardly. I purchased water blaster less than 7 weeks ago and after few times stopped working. She refused to refund or even exchange via other customer service representatives and when I asked to talk to her in person, she suddenly was no longer available and left the premises. Now I need to wait for work until they can verify and repair. Waste of time, and effort. Avoid this store at all cost, is my recommendation.

Best Mitre 10 everyone is so friendly, smiley and helpful. I like how it’s not too big and overwhelming. I like how they are not too busy to have a conversation about life too. 10/10

Drove into waipapa mitre 10 first time in timber department. Was told to enter seen guys with freezer on trolley. So here we are I am helping a family friend in his 80s once I reverse ute guy in 40s approaches says oh you Going to reverse out of here with a smirk . I said no I will turn around next minute they all vanish are you that ignorant and disrespectful you expect a man in his 80s help me put freezer on back of ute. I had to ask one of the guys that turned up with another staff member getting another order to help.
I.then called customer support to inform them of the zero ignorant disrespectful service. He said he would get a manager to call me back which didn't happen. I hope head office see this and act on it Accordingly. SHAME ON YOU MITRE 10

I was overcharged $14.78 to be exact (hardly the end of the world), as I was charged twice for the one item, a tube of Selleys exterior sealant, amongst several other items totalling about $70. Once I had confirmed the error from the receipt, I immediately returned to the customer service desk. This was within minutes of the original purchase. I presented the receipt and politely requested a refund for the overcharged amount. I wasn't angry about the situation and just wanted it corrected. I was subsequently left standing at the customer service desk for five or so minutes while the security cameras were checked, apparently to confirm my "story", as if I were being dishonest and had actually purchased the two items. The customer service staff member obviously believed that I, for some reason, had taken the time out of my day to return to the store in an attempt to rip them off to the tune of a whole $14.78! The loss prevention process was not explained to me adequately (I completely understand there needs to be checks and balances in today's society and didn't object in principle to the security cameras being viewed), nor was there any form of reassurance that it was just a process and/or an apology for the time it was taking. The customer service staff were frankly aloof and unfriendly, even when I attempted to converse with them while waiting (I was the only one present at the desk for the majority of my wait). I felt that I was treated as if I was guilty until proven innocent. Eventually was given the refund, however received no apology for the time, inconvenience and humiliation that Mitre-10's error and subsequent poor customer service had caused me. I made my feelings known. A suggestion for Mitre-10: Treat paying customers with respect and don't doubt their integrity, at the very least until proven otherwise. It goes without saying that, after spending hundreds of dollars at Mitre-10 MEGA over the past month or so, I will now be spending a lot more time (and money) at Bunnings Warehouse. Way to go Mitre-10.

Today I shopped at Mitre 10 Remarkable’s Park Queenstown - I was attended to by three staff members — their service was exceptional — 10/10
Looking for picture hooks the girl couldn’t have been more helpful - I returned an item at customer service counter — fabulous - quick refund - I chose a garden pot from the garden centre — And wooopie when I got to check out it was reduced to half price !!

First visit to spend big bucks at New Lynn branch for a mower. First drawback - the assistant at the mowers section wouldn't assemble the mower for me, which Bunnings will, on request. He was not busy, but refused.
Second - had trouble with not one, but two till assistants, who insisted my credit card couldn't be accepted without a PIN. These are supposedly retail professionals, but had to eventually call their supervisor, who did the transaction in 40 seconds - and who apologised for them - as neither bothered apologising to me for their own incompetence.
Then spent an hour trying to assemble the mower myself, but am going to take it to my local Mitre10 for help rather than go back to New Lynn.
BTW my local Mitre10 (Onehunga) were helpful as usual, and finished off the assembly for me, as the instructions weren't clear (for me at least!)
Great mower though - very happy with it's performance.

I’ve asked for a price matching at manukau mitre10 and they will not do it against Bunning for timber! False advertisement..
How can we support you when you are not competitive?? Ended up asking bunningWarehouse to price matching, and got a sweet as deal!
From mine shopping experience, tools, hardware, timber etc..waste of time looking in miter10..
Bunning Ware is much better quality and deals!

bought water blaster not working properly after under 10 hours use . couldn't find docket from when I bought it they refused to do anything so I suggested I put it on Facebook for a dollar and the lady said that would be a good idea it would save her a whole lot of hassle. I will not be buying any tools from them ever again.

Pathetic - store doesn't have what is advertised online, and their policy that pets must be in a trolley will mean I'll always now go to Bunnings who not only has what they advertise but their staff are much nicer.

All credit to the garden centre staff, it's looking really great, with a good selection & the staff are friendly & knowledgeable. They have lovely planting displays in pots which helps to inspire.

If you want to buy any of the fantastic EGO electric tools, don't go to the Ferrymead Christchurch branch. The staff there don't know the product and it is very hard to find someone to give good advice. Their customer service team also don't respond to feedback.
