Either a scam or complete incompetents, still waiting for my order or my money

One of the worst and most arrogant companies I have ever come across. Borderline Scam, I'll tell you if I ever get my wine or my money back.

Ordered a case of wine in July, was told to expect 2 weeks for delivery. Then a month later was told I would have to pay 75 pounds to get delivery as they had no way of honouring their initial promise. Its now November and I still don't have my wine.

I suggested we split the cost of the extra delivery, which I was not obliged to do and they refused, and issued me a credit note without agreement. Absolutely not a customer focussed company, they did absolutely nothing, offered absolutely nothing. Just have held my money for 6 months and treated me like dirt.

I gave this company nearly 6 months to deliver my order. We are no longer in massive lockdowns, the border is functioning in a way that has allowed every other international company to deliver. Why can't this one.

I will never buy from them again and will inform all my wine buying friends not to do so. We have to weed out companies like this. Although they are doing a pretty good job of destroying themselves.

Dear Sam,
We apologize for not being able to deliver your order under free shipping condition, as advised since you have placed your order, our standard (free) delivery is on hold until further notice, time for us to reorganize and optimise shipping from France to the UK. Thus several options have been proposed to you: either we store your order for free in our cellar, or we cancel and refund or we ship with express delivery by air but charging 75£ for it. As you wanted to have your order delivered but without paying the shipping fee we had to cancel and refund for it.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused, for sure we will keep you posted with future progress regarding shipping options.

Thieves or incompetents?

Thieves or incompetents? They must be one or the other. I placed an order on 9th Jan and Millesima took payment. Nearly three months later they claim they have been unable to import my wine from their cellars in Bordeaux, they claim this is due to Brexit. Other companies have managed to import, some with no delays, some with longer delays, but no one else claims it takes three months!!
They have offered a refund, but all I want is the wine that I have paid for.

New development, 8/4/21:
Millesima inform me that I might expect delivery towards the end of April. I would just like to point out that I placed an order with Tannico, for wine which had to come all the way from Italy, on 4/4/21 and it arrived TODAY! So Tannico can get wine from Italy, via Germany, in FOUR DAYS, whereas Millesima take OVER THREE MONTHS to get wine here from Bordeaux!
Shameful.

We sincerely apologize for the delay beyond our control, we fully understand your confusion and we regret it,
Since Brexit we have been working with our carriers and tax representatives to find a solution in accordance to the new regulations and to clear your wine through customs properly, process was more long and complex than expected.
Millesima has always worked hardly to provide a legal solution to ensure that our clients do not end up having to pay additional charge upon delivery neither duty nor VAT later. I regret this situation but unfortunately we had no choice,
We have now finalized partnerships with two different companies and will be able to provide you a shipping option in the coming days, we have contacted you by email to do so, we offered you a DHL express service in two days without extra charge but you have preferred to go with specialized forwarder to get the original box from the domaine with longer leadtime delivery (10 days on average).

Good products – terrible delivery and customer service

They seem stuck in the 20th century. In 2019, which other on-line merchant publishes (almost with pride!) approximately FIVE WEEKS delivery time from the date of order?
Have experienced long, frustrating delivery times from them before, but wanted to give them another chance + this particular wine looked good at a good price. TWENTY working days after having my order confirmed and having paid, still no signs of any delivery. To add insult to injury, the person at Customer Service not only interrupted me many times, but seemed exclusively interested in talking about MILLESIMA's POINT OF VIEW and challenges, not in the least in hearing how I, as a CUSTOMER, was feeling about my order. The lesson is clear for me: in the future, will DEFINITELY AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS, and focus on the several other competitors which deliver in 1 week or less, with excellent customer service.

It takes indeed 3 to 4 weeks from date of reception of your order/payment and 10 to 14 working days from when shipping out from our cellar in Bordeaux ; your order left our cellar on 13th November, as advised by our customer service, you have been contacted by our carrier on 3rd December to plan a booking for delivery, and delivery has been made yesterday morning (on 4th Dec.) as per the date arranged with the delivery company, meaning 15 days from leaving our cellar.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused and understand that our delivery leadtime can be long, we are working on implementing solutions to reduce leadtime, providing more additional update throughout transit and improve our delivery service as our customer satisfaction remain our priority.

We hope you will enjoy the wines and we remain at your disposal for anything you may need,

Rang to place my first order poor experience

Rang to place my first order. Despite no indication on the website I was told I could not order certain wines as single bottles but had to buy minimum of 6. Then next wine I asked for I was told it was only sold in small quantities so I could not order only 2. Hopeless.

farcical company, inept service

Firstly my order of two cases of wine was significantly delayed vs advertised timeframe and finally arrived yesterday a whole month later, after the event it was bought for.

When it was delivered by the courier in London, one of the cases was obviously leaking red wine due to one or more bottles being broken inside. Unfortunately the courier delivered it in spite of this while I was not present - I would have never accepted it otherwise. I then spoke to Millesima's Hope (export manager) in order to get the leaking case picked up - she assured me it would be the same day, then when that did not happen first thing the next day (today). It is the next day, Hope has gone email and phone silent and it has been 36hrs since a leaking case of wine was delivered to my office - it smells and I have no idea when it will be collected. This is embarassingly bad service and the lack of communication regarding returning the goods is inexcusable.

For lack of any response I am voicing my frustration here so everyone else can avoid them like the plague

A pity...

I decided to go the extra mile for a special celebration and get some fine wine from Millesima. Unfortunately, the wine did not arrive in time because my order was lost on the system. It took a fair amount of time before my it was delivered - over 6 weeks after I placed the order. To be fair, the lady who dealt with me, Gee, was very pleasant and I get the impression it was beyond her control. She kindly offered me a discount on my next order. However, when I opened the wine, it was well past it's best and very disappointing. In truth, the whole experience was disappointing because the site has some very nice wine on offer, and I'd like to buy again, it's just that this experience has put me off.

As explained by email, your order did indeed face a longer than normal delivery time, which we informed you about as soon as it was made aware.
We organise a weekly consignment to the UK from our cellars in Bordeaux, with delivery by our local carrier by appointment.

We are very sorry indeed that the wines were disappointing, particularly as they were for a special occasion. Older burgundies do present more tertiary aromas, with earthy rancio notes.
Of course if you are not satisfied with the wines you purchased, we invite you to contact us at any time to discuss the particulars of your order.

Really good service

I didn't make it easy for Millesima, and yet they still managed to deliver exactly what I ordered, and make it easy for me in return. I do have to say I would recommend them - AND their UK delivery partner. I was not the easiest person to contact with regard to delivery arrangements but that didn't stop them succeeding. Thank you!

WORST

Simply what has not been delivered cannot be rated, all the correspondent's phonelines are busy unable to get a hold of you. Very bad service!

First class service

This was my first order, I am very impressed, the prices were, I thought, very keen. Ordering was straightforward and the delivery service excellent, the delivery company telephoned me to arrange a suitable delivery time.
