Mears Group Arvostelua 

A mixed barrel. I have been in my council flat for years, I have a son with autism so I am currently at this time unable to work and we are low income so my home doesn't look the best. It is tidy and generally clean. But it doesn't look like a five star show home or mansion. I have done the best with what I've got and also had to make do as my council is slow at fixing and repairing things. For example my kitchen is overdue to be replaced and has broken cabinets and drawers and they still haven't replaced my bathroom ceiling. I've had men from mears group come and go over the years some have been friendly, understanding and supportive. I am also poor so it's taking a while to save up for new carpets, and to complete diy that needs doing. But I have had some mears men come into my home and instead of trying to understand my situation and not pass judgement, they have made me feel judged and uncomfortable. I had one man smile and be nice to my face but then loudly call me a "lazy b**ch" when he was in the other room when he was replacing my bathroom taps. And then this evening I had another mears man imply there was nothing wrong with my boiler over the weekend and that he wasn't saying it didn't happen but he couldn't see anything wrong with it now and I needed to give the boiler more time to heat up and this can take a few minutes. When I explained me and my son had waited over ten minutes for the water to heat. And explained to him it hadn't happened before he was fake polite in return. Still saying he's not saying it didn't happen but still implying that I needed to be patient. He went through other theories that the boiler or thermostat had been wrongly fiddled with. His tone towards me was just off. Just seemed irritated with me. Every time mears has to come round I am filled with dread. Because you never know if they are gonna be nice or judgemental or downright nasty.

Absolutely shocking company. Terrible customer service. One time an employee was arguing with me for 5 minutes saying my address was not a council property when it obviously is and I’ve contacted them many times for a repair.

Once they send someone out they wash their hands of the problem and say it’s not their responsibility anymore. They send the wrong people and fail to provide them with any detail with regards to the repair. I called them about a blocked sink and when the man turned up he asked me where the leak was. So he didn’t have any tools to unblock my sink as he was told it was leaking. I spent the whole day at home waiting for him for no reason.

I called them multiple times to fix our communal door downstairs in my block of flats as it doesn’t properly slam shut. They failed to fix it. Yesterday a mentally unwell man came INTO my flat because he got in through the faulty door. Mears still failed to fix it yesterday and today despite multiple calls and giving them the police crime reference number. They sent a carpenter out who obviously wasn’t trained on how to fix the self closing door mechanism and hadn’t had the correct equipment with him. When he called me he told me to keep badgering them because Mears won’t do anything once he does his report.

And sure enough, despite two calls to them today and them promising to send an emergency repair out, they were simultaneously telling me it’s not their responsibility anymore and they’d done their part. And sure enough, no one came and no one repaired anything.

Currently in the midst of complaint process with the council because this is beyond ridiculous now.

Mears are a total waste of space! I have never known a company that has such poor customer service and such incompetent operatives to still be in business! I reported that my 6ft fence was swaying badly in the high winds. They sent out a 'window fitter ' to assess it. Weeks later they sent a text giving me a date of when a technician was coming out to repair it. I waited in and no one turned up. I then reported that my gate had a broken catch and hinge. They said they'd book it to be completed when they come to do the fence. That appointment was for this afternoon. I get a message at 10.54am to say they're 15 minutes away. I had popped up town stupidly believing it would be a PM appointment as they had confirmed, so I had to do a mad dash back to my house to meet them. The final insult us they only did half a job. They fixed one fence post but left the other one loose so the fence panel still sways back and forth. Oh, they did use my garden rake to prop up the loose post though. Clearly that's a new fencing skill they're taught now. To use tenants gardening tools as structural support. Then in regards to my gate. They didn't even look at it let alone repair it. Its still hanging by one hinge, broken catch and all, just flapping in the wind. I am so frustrated by their inability to do anything right. What do you do though? You are literally at their mercy! Useless!

Mears Redbridge….. 1 star is abit much!!!!! The customers service on the phone is atrocious….. it’s like they wanna come off that phone and turn up in your door and fight you. I do not know where they employ these people from. They kept putting the phone down on me. Could give me a straight yes or no to say if the plumber has been called. I’ve been calling them for 5 years. The staff they employ need to learn telephone etiquette. They need to listen to people properly. I just think if you’re that rude to customers why you working in customer services.

They came this the house i told them that the light in my utility room wasn’t working,they refused to repair it because they said that the rats in m,y loft ate the wire's,funny that I’ve never had rats in my loft and had someone fix it in the end after six months and they said all they did was disconnected the wires so they didn’t have to the job at hand……lazy sobs

Wish I could give a zero or a minus. My house was on the market and this shower of muppets made an offer on it which I unwittingly accepted. Went through all the legal proceedings, took the house off the market etc and then this shower of inept imbeciles withdrew the offer because apparently they couldn’t get board approval. Surely you get the money before you make the offer. If you’re selling your house and these idiots put an offer in refuse it. Suffice to say my estate agent and solicitor were equally unimpressed with these clowns.

Bunch of amateurs. Not all the workers but most are Cowboys that screw councils and bodge the jobs just to get down the pub for lunch time.
They sublet jobs to other contractors without informing you of what’s happening. S, you could have people who are not properly vetted turning up to fix something. Just give your address out to any old random contractor.

Awful company to work for asylum seeker contract.Run you into the ground & don’t care about staff and are treated like dogs bodies. Stay well away from this company. You go above & beyond for them & they just don’t care. All they are bothered about is KPI’s. Their policies, double standards. Toxic working office environment. Management couldn’t spell the truth let alone tell it!
Seriously don’t even waste your time applying for a job as a Housing Support Officer or any other job with these muppets,you will regret it in the end. Don’t let the company car & fuel card draw you in. It really isn’t worth it.

Very superior attitude they contract to the council who are breaking the law! and has made me wait two weeks with a leaking toilet two weeks without lights with wires showing more than twice two weeks faulty locks two week sleaking radiators now they are saying to mears just fix old rotton garbage it's not a falicy' that council's has moved people from good accommodations to very poor and badly looked after ones and the council when investigation propertys just send cleaners well if those cleaners were worthntheir weight in salt they should report things also Rotherham burough council now charge tenants if they dont describe a fault properly in other words it has to be an emergency for same day repairs So back to mears every one of them are vile people so vile in fact I bet they have problems sleeping.
Let me say one thing though they all take money and the council is as bent as the next for being liars and more fool mears because they liars as well .

So I sent my application for housing as my job pays for housing through them for us, I sent my application through 3 months in advance I’m still waiting and I’ve been in my job for a month, they been paying for my hotel but it not the point, I’m working out of a hotel and when I call them to ask for a update they are soooo rude and unhelpful with explaining what things mean and they try so hard to hang up

Worst company I have ever dealt with, contacted them at the beginning of the year for a property i have and still not had a proper response. But looking at the reviews it seems like I've been SAVED! "Market leaders" ? I certainly hope not, very worrying....

Time wasters and they're probably going to get me sacked from work they do my annual gas check 3 times last year they failed to turn up so that's 3 times I had to take time off work for nothing this year they message me late Friday afternoon to tell me they're coming Monday morning because obviously I can just drop everything without a problem oh and then there's the lovely young woman on reception when you call them

Truly awful company….

My experience with mears today was outstanding, a multi trader named Dean came to my property and he did the work so efficiently. He was polite, very tidy and the work was done within the time frame. Thank you Dean for making me happy I can now use my new cooker.

The worst company ever. Roof fell in whilst they were doing replacements because they stupidly stacked the roofing tiles which caused it to fall in, this could have been deadly as it fell on the bed where my nieces and nephews sleep. Workers are very negligent, super slow, no respect for residents. They came to fix our bathroom leaving stickers on the bath tub. Replaced our windows and left stickers on the window. A very horrible company.

Just wasted my time and didn't even give me a call.

A job that should've been a day's work still not finished months later. Two cancelled appointments later because their seemingly one and only carpenter rang in sick. .it then takes a month to get another appointment.

Claims they can't get the things they need to finish the job when they are readily available in most stores. The don't care attitude of their staff. .making their incompetence your problem,they really are shockingly awful!

Head and shoulders the worst company I've ever dealt with. As someone who is chronically ill i need the job completed! Numerous visits,numerous cancelled appointments,numerous excuses and the job still isn't done. A job that should've taken 1 day!
