Lyle Court in Edinburgh is the perfect place for my father to live
The staff at Lyle Court are friendly, professional and caring which is exactly what I'd want for my 92 year old father who's been a resident for over 6 years. He has his own flat within an assisted building giving him freedom, security and company.

I have lived in two McCarthy& Stone…
I have lived in two McCarthy& Stone developments- 8years at Paxton Court Tenby which is a beautiful seaside town. Jackie the House Manager came at the opening and is still there. She made Paxton Court a very happy place to live.
Now I am at Eadhelm Court Edenbridge. Having decided to move nearer my family.I looked at other retirement properties and none compared with McCarthy& Stone. Eadhelm Court is a very pleasant development and we have a new recently appointed House Manager who is very friendly and helpful. She is doing so much to enhance the life of the residents . Debs is a real treasure
and we are fortunate to have her. I can strongly recommend McCarthy & Stone developments

Mum loved Mandeville Court in Potters Bar
My mum was very reluctant to leave her marital home, but when the time came she moved to Mandeville Court in Potters Bar and was very happy. She absolutely loved her flat and adored the staff who supported her, couldn't have been happier with her choice, difficult as it was at the time.

I’ve visited Amelia Court a few times recently while helping a resident with a few errands. I’ve found it to be very well presented and welcoming. Beth at McCarthy & Stone made what…
Beth at McCarthy & Stone made what could have been a stressful process feel manageable from start to finish. We were arranging a reservation for my mother during a genuinely difficult period for our family, with a lot of moving parts and competing pressures behind the scenes, and Beth handled all of it with patience and clarity.
She was consistently quick to respond, explained each step of the reservation and offer acceptance process in plain terms, and never made us feel rushed even when our own side of things was disorganised. When a few details needed correcting along the way, she sorted them out calmly and without any fuss, and kept communication open throughout rather than leaving us chasing for updates.
What stood out most was how she handled the harder moments. Family circumstances meant there were a few points where things got complicated on our end, and Beth stayed professional, sympathetic, and solutions-focused throughout, never letting the difficulty of the situation affect the service. That kind of steady, reassuring support makes a real difference when you're helping a parent through a major life change.
Would happily recommend Beth to anyone considering a McCarthy & Stone development, particularly the Saxon Gardens team in Oakham.

Whyburn Court
My mum lived in the Whyburn Court McCarthy and Stone accommodation for nearly 5 years until she passed away recently. It was perfect for her, close to her old friends and a lovely community where she could make new ones. We always felt that she was safe and happy there. Lots of activities to join in with and a lovely relationship with the childrens nursery next door who used to visit. The house manager is very professional and she knows all the residents well, and genuinely goes over and above to make sure that they feel settled and happy. The public spaces are very welcoming and are kept lovely and clean

Leedham Court Hebden Bridge…
My wife and I recently visited Leedham Court, McCarthy Stone retirement housing development, in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Can I say from the outset what a wonderful place it is, the location, the building, the standard of the accommodation and the friendliness of the residents. The experience was made even more special by the manager, Tracie. Not only was she friendly and professional but made time for us as we compared the development to the one we live in in Stamford. I tried, unsuccessfully, to persuade her to move down to Stamford. Trivial issues like family and commitment to Leedham Court residents, seemed a poor excuse. Seriously, a competent, professional and caring manager that McCarthy Stone would do well to look after.

So good I have 2 mothers there
My mother in law loved the Bramhall development as soon as she saw it and is very happy there. When my mother saw it, she agreed and moved there too! The facilities are excellent, fostering a good community which offers plenty of sociability and activities if you want them, or peace and safety if you don't. Jo the house manager is a star - friendly and welcoming, ultra organised, just what you want when you have 2 mothers there!

My elderly parents have recently moved…
My elderly parents have recently moved into Earls Grange, they’ve been there for approximately five weeks now, it’s such a pleasant environment and so far they’ve been very happy.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and a particular shoutout goes to Sue, the house manager who goes above and beyond, always so helpful and so supportive, nothing is too much trouble, so thank you Sue, even though you haven’t been in the role for very long, you’ve made a huge difference

Flora Grange is the best…
Flora Grange in Sheffield was the best place / location we visited for my mum to move to. Mum rented an apartment at Flora Grange then a property came up for sale and mum has been living in her home for the last 12 months. It’s a beautiful place to live.
Liz the manager is wonderful, mum and my whole family love her. She is so kind, caring, knowledgable, discreet & intuitive. She keeps everything in order, her role literally covers all eventualities and nothing is too much trouble.
Mum often reports how fab Liz is, which is so comforting as a relative.

The worst company I’ve ever dealt with…
The worst company I’ve ever dealt with . My 92 year old mom’s apartment became uninhabitable back in April due to leaking roof . Still no repairs in sight and her health is deteriorating, very unhappy and confused . Have 2 stage 2 complaints upheld against them but still they are doing absolutely nothing .

Burrstone Grange
I've lived at Burrstone Grange for 2.1/2 yrs. It was the best move that I made. I moved to Thornton Cleveleys to be near my son and grandchildren. I have made so many friends here, and Sam the site manager is absolutely brilliant. She organizes so many events for us to take part in, or not whatever you want to do.
