Avoid Buying From Here

I’m extremely disappointed with Marshalls. I bought a “brand‑new” MINI from them in October 2025, but they failed to disclose that the car was actually built in 2024. This means the car is now demanding a service 15 months earlier than expected. Marshalls have only offered 50% off a service at their dealership — despite the fact that the early service is entirely due to their lack of transparency, and I live miles away. I should not be out of pocket for something they failed to disclose. Very poor customer care.

Memorable - Purchase of my first M car

I chose Grimsby despite not being locally situated. This was because I was offered a competitive price without the need for extensive negotiation. All my questions were promptly answered and there was no pressure to purchase before I was ready.

Initially, I requested to order the car with the expected delivery date to coincide with the completion of my current car’s finance term. However, I was informed that due to an oversight, I would need to collect the car one month before the anticipated delivery date.

Grimsby BMW acknowledged this was an inconvenience to me, and was compensated more than fairly.

The collection process was smooth, with Connor picking me up from my hotel. I was not rushed and the car was presented in the collection bay.

I would like to express my gratitude to Connor and Adam for their efforts in making the purchase of this exceptional car a memorable experience.

BMW I4 M60 (Business Contract Hire)

I placed an order for a new BMW I4 last October with Lisa Garside (Local Business). This was delivered this March to my specification, as agreed, ready to replace my old car. Lisa was very helpful and patience the whole time as I had many questions relating to specification and delivery. I'm very satisfied with my car and the service received and will certainly be back in the future.

They just don’t learn !

They just don’t learn !! Now receiving emails to book my car in for a service which I no longer own !! Don’t they keep their service department updated. Communication is they way to have a well run business Unfortunately Grimsby BMW can’t even communicate with its own staff it’s so appalling!!

Tiffany was very good and not pushy at all and allowed me to find the right car for me. Very helpful with the whole process. Will definitely be back in the future and will send friends and family her way.

Great customer services

Great customer services
I took my X4 in for a recall.
I wanted to mention that the team but in particular Gareth was brilliant to work with and he was extremely helpful and reminded me of the top class service BMW offer. A real asset to a fantastic car manufacturer.

I can't judge this off one experience. A few years ago I had an issue with one of the vents in a 2012 BMW 320d. BMW took it in and repaired it under warranty and did not charge.

My only observation of what could be better is that they are particularly expensive and could benefit by being more competitive with local garage prices.

Had a recall done on an EGR that had exploded and blown my manifold off. Incorrect diagnostic procedure carried out. Left engine oil all over my engine bay. Car smelt of burning oil. Short time after collecting car turbo seals go and collapse's rendering the car un-drivable BMW don’t recognise this to be a chain reaction even though the excessive pressure which have been confirmed in email by the service manager have blown the inlet manifold off the car. On complaint the service advisor refused to give me his name and job title- he insisted on me not making a complaint to principle dealer. This is after insulting my car commenting on it being old with high mileage, also had the cheek to ask me to remove my car so he had space for paying customers. Truly disappointed and expected more from a prestigious brand. DO NOT USE!

I bought my X1 in September including…

I bought my X1 in September including the insurance packages de-valuation cosmetic and tyres alloys I received the firt 2 docs but not the tyre insurance for nearly 3 mths now I have made calls to Marshalls Grimsby asking for the paper work for the insurance ? I was told by various sales men that it was my problem and I have to get in touch with the insurer ? I have tried many times but unable to do so as have NO policy no! I have been refused a refund by Marshalls So I have paid £300 for an insurance policy that does not exist that I cant access and its my fault no after sales or help to resolve the situation just taken the money and not supplied the policy paid for again today I phoned yet again asking to speak with a directory franchise director Anthony Partingdon I was informed there was nobody in charge of the company only the salesmen all senior directors have left and not replaced?looks like a mail to trading standards' as there is no way I can access what I've purchased I did not have this problem with BMW in Lincoln even though can be not great

Recall on a mini

The staff here were all really polite and friendly. I took my daughter's car in because it had a recall on it, They were very efficient and fixed the car within the time specified and gave it a thorough checking over before we drove it away. Very satisfied. Thank you.

No Customer Support

My car was due a recall. I used the online tool to book it in but it wouldn't allow me to book it in and instead completed an online form for them to contact me to arrange. No response.

Tried a month later.

No response.

Tried another dealer. Booked in without hassle.

So I guess as my request wasn't a chargeable visit they aren't bothered.
Looking at other reviews it seems after care is shockingly bad and it's all about the sales.

Denied causing issue after recall work

Took my car in for recall work. When I collected the car it had an ad blue system failure warning on the screen. They weren't interested in bearing any responsibility despite the message never being displayed in nearly four years of ownership because there had apparently been a repair previously. That should be irrelevant, how can there be zero responsibility for an error message not on before but definitely on after. They then wanted to charge me £1000 to fit a new ad blue tank. My independent garage fixed in less than an hour. To make matters worse the workshop controller tried to tell me that it definitely wasn't related to the exhaust work done on the recall because ad blue is added to the fuel, it definitely isn't. Either he set out to deceive or has very little knowledge of it, don't know which is worse.
And don't believe the " reviews are unedited " on their own website. They only show a small portion of the review presumably to limit facts being shared. Can't understand how BMW allow these people to behave this way. The aftersales manager only had Marshalls interest in mind, didn't care about me or BMW, as long as "they are getting paid" Either me or BMW, then had the cheek to suggest I'd had £200 of free diagnostics out of them, unbelievable, if they hadn't caused an error message I wouldn't have needed any. If you've done wrong, sort it.

Aftercare is awful

Aftercare is awful, the manger is a joke, lies after lies, the Grimsby branch is awful , I've hear some shocking story's about it, I asked for a call back 8 times still nothing,

From experience please do not use they mislead and lie
Profit is the only interest to them a chaotic shambles unprofessional misleading with no support or compassion gave me the run around for 11 weeks as now mis directing verbal promises from a senior manager we’re lies backwording are commonplace to protect there only interest profit Avoid
We’re is Dean Spencer exactly answers please
Especially managerless motoradd department a vipers nest of in house fighting under staffing under trained
This week more lies but still no admittance

Absolutely appalling branch

Absolutely appalling branch, The after-care is horrendous and so too the aftercare staff , they couldn’t do enough when they think your spending your money but after they don’t want to know , the staff are unhelpful and extremely unprofessional, they do not return calls or emails , especially the after-care staff , I have heard some awful stories about this branch recently avoid all costs !

Excellent Service

Excellent. Easy booking in for my motorbike. Thought the charge to do the service was reasonable (for a main dealer) work was completed within timescales quoted (I was waiting ) and all staff seemed friendly. Lady who dealt with me seemed very knowledgeable. Decent place and people.

Very poor and disappointing experience.

I bought a BMW Z4 from Marshall’s Grimsby approximately 1 year ago. Not a great start from the sales guy Luke as he didn’t answer the questions that we had asked over email. We wanted things in writing and felt that on some occasions we were chasing them to buy the car and it was almost like I was doing them a favour buying it not that they actually wanted to sell it! Luke even said that he was sorry that we had got off on the wrong foot, after airing our initial concerns.

Handover went very smoothly until they presented the car. Although it was very clean, it had a lot of surface scratches and stone chips. Luke was very apologetic, and said to bring it back in on a different day and everything would be sorted. Booked it in verbally with Luke on the collection day but I never received email confirmation as promised. I chased and chased on email but received no reply. I had to phone to get all sorted. Got my car back with only three of the fourteen areas sorted. Car had not been washed and inspected, so how could they do a thorough and proper job checking for stone chips and marks on a dirty car? Apparently the body shop man is the best in the business according to Ewan. Genuinely not convinced about that! Interior was covered in white watery marks. There were also marks on the seats and it was just generally grubby. Standard of the stone chip repair by the ‘best in the business’ was very poor as it fell out after first wash!

Marshall’s send you a survey to rate the service you receive prior to purchase and if you do not reply positively, apparently the person who sells you the car gets their wages docked. I am not sure how true or even how legal this is but rather than filling in the survey negatively at the time, we did not complete it and gave them the benefit of the doubt, that what we had experienced was just a one off. In hindsight, we probably should have completed it and then they may have improved the service we received going forward.

Booked back in after 11 months for the free MOT, software upgrade and health check I had been promised. I was given a 1 hour ‘sit and wait’ appointment. Which effectively means they get your MOT in and out in one hour. Two hours later, we were still waiting for it to be completed,I asked the Customer Service Manager, Kelly (who incidentally was sat at a desk just three feet away from us), what was happening. Twenty minutes later neither she or anyone else had come back to me with an update. Kelly was just sat at her desk hoping I would go away I think! I had to ask her again for an update which was basically that ‘it will be ready soon’. FINALLY, 3 hours after I arrived, I got my car back. This was only after constantly asking, and receiving a different excuse every time. MOT was carried out, but no software updates were carried out as they wanted to charge me £150 for my FREE update. As an apology for the long wait time, we were told there was no charge for my already FREE MOT! After I left, I complained in writing by emailing customer service. This was directed to Kelly but I received no response as I had come to expect. After contacting them via social media, I eventually got a response and a phone call from a Senior Service Advisor called Gareth. Gareth wasn’t bothered about hearing the full story, just didn’t want me to leave any negative feedback anywhere and offered me a free MOT for next year. I don’t think so!

They are so desperate to get 5* ratings and for you not to leave negative comments. Gaining 5* reviews would not be a problem if they were good at what they do - I would happily leave them glowing reviews. Unfortunately, they are very poor at what they do. They just give you lip service. If they got it right and provided excellent customer service and aftercare, they would not need to resort to these tactics. Talk is cheap and actions most definitely speak louder than words - Marshalls Grimsby do not act or follow through on their promises.

To add insult to injury, today I received an email asking me if I would like to book in for my FREE health check and software update. Err surely this is what I asked for at the time of my MOT and you wanted to charge be £150 so why would I believe that it would suddenly be free now?

I would never go back to Marshall’s Grimsby and I will not recommend them to any of my friends or family.
