I went to the branch Orewa to get a new debit card because my current card is peeling and the eftpos chip says error. they'd told me to do it on-line which it takes 10days to process. I told them that i need my card by thursday before we fly to overseas. And they told me that it won't happen it has to be 10 working days. So, i rang the 0800 and this young lady answered and i did explained to her my situation etc. And I've got the same answer like what the branch casher told me. And i said, so what do you want me to do? Going overseas without it? And she replied, why didn't you do it earlier. I told her that just last year before i went to the Philippines i just walked in through the casher and get it with no problem. I didn't know that it has changed because i didn't get any updates from you guys. So, she told me to look an answer for after a long wait she told me that she can do a 7days but i have to pay fir 20 bucks plus card replacement for 15 bucks 🤔. So i said yeah that's fine i really need that card. But she hang up without finishing what we've been discussing. So i rang again but a young man answered named TIM and i told him everything and he's very calm and explain everything politely and get the solution for me no problem at all. He told me that I'll get my ATMcard this coming Friday and if i dont receive any just give you guys a call again to make sure I'll get as fast as i can and i was so relieved to hear that. And guess what,i have it already today at around 3pm. TIM has an amazing customer service very easy to talk to, he listened and very apologetic and made sure i have nothing to worry about. The 5 star 🌟 is fir his brilliant service. Thank-you TIM and the kiwibank team. Advanced Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of us.

I was surprised and delighted to be treated as a human being not a number following a scam that emptied my account. Thank you for your your respect and understanding.

Called at 2:20pm. Requested a call back that was roughly meant to take 40mins ended up taking two hours. Called at 4:30 and still no answer.

Kiwibank made me take a compliance test before setting up my Business Account. It felt like an overreach of my privacy. They asked me unnecessary information; a list of my clients, so much more. They required information which overstepped boundaries.

I called them to tell me my credit card had been compromised, and they tell me I have to drive to the nearest branch, which is miles away, to verify MY identification. Seriously?? I'm telling you there is an issue and they make it hard for me.

I been customer with Kiwibank not longer I'm so disappointed with them, my account suddenly frozen and saiyng investments.
I email them explain to my family emergency situation and they said in 20 workings days get back to me but never.
I try to call so many times only things wait n service so badly.

Very poor communications and appalling customer service . They should trade in a different name as it is a shameful service . They forced me to take an insurance product from another insurance company NIB even though I haven’t asked for it .They kept deducting the insurance premiums. They won’t attend the calls from overseas numbers and no prompt communications. I bank with asb and anz and never had an issue with customer service .

Applied for a $1000 overdraft facility after banking with kiwibank for over 10 years. Six weeks later and they’re now asking for signed contracts guaranteeing income as I am a sole trading earthworks contractor. This bank is pathetic, shocking service and communication and clearly you need a mortgage broker just to get an overdraft. So much for the false advertising adds on tv that they’re out to help businesses grow and we’re there for kiwis. Worst bank ever… but they’re probably all the same. Something has to be done about the monopoly and dictatorship of our banks. They’ll dish it out when it suits… then take your house when it hits the fan.
BEWARE… you’re better off having a safe at home and stacking it with gold and cash.
I hope it all collapses and goes to cryptocurrency.

I have recently set up a business account with Kiwi bank and everything went very smooth thanks to James M. He called me and kept me updated with everything I needed to do. He was polite and professional and always answers fast when I email him. Even though I was hesitant to go to Kiwi bank due to many bad reviews I decided to try them out, and I am definitely not disappointed. Therefore I strongly recommend Kiwi bank in Wellington!

I’ve been a Kiwibank customer for over 2 decades, I’m so disappointed. Today I got scammed online I called Kiwibank to resolve this issue all they said they can do is wait 10 working days for me to contact the scam company first then call Kiwibank back and try and resolve the issue then. What a joke. The wait time for them to answer the phone is over 1 hour. I’ve never had this issue with anz and Asb.

awful online experience, always going into maintenance. Terrible service overall

Absolutely shocking customer service. We have just been granted a home loan from Kiwibabnk, so trying - in vain - to talk to customer service in order to set up our internet banking. We have been holding the line for hours. We have requested call backs that never came. When one call back came, the line was dropped within a few seconds, and nobody called again. I really hope the experience improves soon!

some of the staff members are so rude over the phone, they dont pay attention to your request and dont show any courtesy while talking to a customer, shame on you

they are closing my account because I won't give them specific details and proof of a deposit from the sale of an asset and they want to know details about another bank that I use

Whilst applying for a credit card, I was asked to provide documents which I had already provided to the customer service representative that I delt with.

I communicated early on that I was in between jobs, and instead of using my contracted income, or placing my application on hold for a few days until this occurred - my application was declined and I was told that I would have to reapply.

Declined credit applications aren't good from a credit score system, and repeating the application is pain staking.

When I asked the team to call me to discuss, I received no call, or explanation and was just told it was declined.

I will be taking my business elsewhere.

They told me I wasn't the owner of my account without asking me any sort of questions. 😂 So Thanks for your unwilling service.

Shocking service on part of Kiwibank which I believed was set up to meet, or even exceed, customer expectations as was the case when initially established.
A week ago I was rung by KiwiBank re a significant term deposit maturing today. I told caller I had previously closed terms as KiwiBank no longer seem interested in meeting market interest rates, some of which were now well behind competitors and rate of inflation. Caller told me to ring back on maturity as I would find a better rate offered for say a 12 month term by then.
Rates hadn't been updated on website this morning. As suggested by caller I rang later in morning.
Phone prompt said a 10 to 20 minute wait. No automated or other offer to leave my number as per some other banks/Gov't Depts and to ring me back.
I waited 43 minutes - clearly a disappointing experience. Man who listened to my story gave no indication or apology for delay or for me being advised wrongly re interest rate/s - just said curtly "we don't match interest rates" - even thou all I wanted was to know any new rate/s given I was told less than a week ago by Kiwibank Rep. who initiated contact I could expect some improvement today to help renew my term.

Have just hung up after waiting 95 minutes. Am taking my maturing term deposit to ASB

Had to give one star because it won't let you wrote a review I rung kiwibank today regarding personal loans only to be meet with a lady on the other end who was very rude and abrupt and didn't want to take 5 mins out of her day to help me out and told me in a most condensing way to look it up online what's the point in having a customer service representative if they WILL not help you? I don't know who are hiring these days but this lady needs to do a a customer service etiquette course!! I actually ended up hanging up on her! I've been a long standing customer with kiwibank and quite frankly the so called customer service I received today was crap

There is NO help available whatsoever at branches in person. NO we do not want to use automated or contact centre ",help" when wait times are 95minutes😡
Main branch in Hamilton is now also closed😡 Te Rapa is the only one but with TWO staff members only they do not have time to help with things like new accounts, investments, etc😡 THREE WEEKS wait for an appointment in branch. We've been with kiwibank many many years but even we have had enough. It's time to take our business elsewhere.
