Do not waste your time or money.
I was greeted by rude staff in the Emporium, and my partner and I left feeling completely unwelcome.
When we returned to make our purchase, Joanne and Janet managed to get the order completely wrong, even spelling my name incorrectly. As a result, I did not receive a receipt until the item was delivered. As soon as it arrived, it was obvious that the order was incorrect.
Despite this being entirely their mistake, Nikki and Steve have refused to do anything to rectify the issue, even though the product remains in its original packaging and has not been used.
Please do not waste your time or money with these unprofessional people. I'm extremely disappointed, as Housing Units used to be a great place to visit and shop.
HU - You may respectfully disagree all you like. I look forward to sharing my findings from The Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman, whom you were so keen to suggest in your recent email.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience.
Having thoroughly reviewed the matter with the team members involved, our records show that you initially visited our store on 3rd April, when pricing and dimensions were discussed in detail, and the information was noted down for you. When you returned on 19th April to place the order, the same written details were provided to our sales colleague, and the order was processed based on the dimensions supplied.
As this was a bespoke order, specific sizing was discussed during both visits. The dimensions ordered were not standard sizes, and both colleagues involved clearly recall reviewing these measurements with you. In addition, our usual process is to confirm customer details and review the order before it is signed and approved.
We appreciate that it is disappointing when a product does not meet expectations. However, based on our investigation, we are satisfied that the order was placed in accordance with the information provided and subsequently approved at the point of purchase.
We are also sorry to learn that you felt unwelcome during your visit, as this is certainly not the level of service we strive to provide. Customer experience is extremely important to us, and your comments have been noted and shared with the relevant team.
While we understand your frustration, we respectfully disagree with the suggestion that the order was processed incorrectly by our staff.

The quality of the table and chairs are very good but the time taken for it to come into stock was far too long. Then it was delayed so it was a few weeks late. I didn't go for the delivery option as it was very expensive, but collection was easy.

Professional and Friendly
The staff in the showroom and the delivery team are extremely helpful, professional, and knowledgeable regarding the products they sell. The only downside that I must mention is the long delay in receiving our order, whilst this is not the fault of the store it caused us some concern as we thought at one point that the sofa would never arrive, however, staff from Housing Units were in constant contact with us and very reassuring.

6 month and still waiting... Extremely poor customer service...
Thank you for your response to my last review, but unfortunately it does not fully reflect what has actually happened.
To clarify:
• I ordered two different wardrobes — one clearance and one full price. The mistake was entirely due to your internal system error, not anything on my side. It is not reasonable that I was made to pay extra to correct an error caused by your system. When the wrong wardrobe (the clearance size) was delivered, the correct action would have been to replace it without additional cost. Instead, I was told I had to pay more, which is unfair and very poor customer service.
• Despite this being your error, I still agreed to pay the additional amount simply to resolve the issue and avoid further delays.
• Since then, I have been waiting over six months from the original order date and three months since agreeing to the extra payment, yet I still do not have a confirmed delivery date.
• Every time I have contacted customer service, I have received the same generic message that you will “update me when you have a date,” with no proactive communication or explanation for the ongoing delay.
• In addition, I was informed that the wardrobe would be in stock on 15th June. It is now 17th June, and I still have not received any communication from Housing Units. After waiting for months, this is yet another commitment that has not been kept. The lack of updates and continued delays are extremely disappointing and reflect very poorly on your customer service.
While I acknowledge the gesture of covering part of the price difference, the core issue remains unresolved: I still do not have the product I ordered, paid for, and have been waiting for since December.
At this stage, I would appreciate a clear, final delivery date and a transparent explanation for the prolonged delay. I simply want the correct wardrobe delivered without any further issues.

Our team follows a checklist during the sales process to ensure key information, including stock availability and lead times, is discussed with customers. Concerning the duvet, our records show that we emailed you to advise that the supplier had split the delivery. The outstanding stock is now expected to arrive with us during the week commencing 22nd June.

Buying sofas from Housing Units
The choice of sofas at Housing Units was amazing. The staff in general, and in particularl Kelly M, were really friendly and helpful when we were choosing and then ordering the sofas we decided to purchase. We were given an expected date of delivery but they actually came much sooner which was great. The delivery men, Lee and David, handled the sofas very professionally and made sure we were totally happy before they left. All in all, buying from Housing Units was a great experience and I can highly recommend them!

To clarify the charge of £16.44, your order consisted of the HG Wells Cleaner (£6.49) and next-day delivery option (£9.95).
Our records show that the order was placed on Saturday 13th June. As the order was placed over the weekend, the first delivery attempt was made on Monday 15th June, but this was unsuccessful. A second delivery attempt was made on Tuesday 16th June however, the parcel was refused.

What a beautiful table!
The choice in the showroom of dining tables was excellent. We were loooking for something very specific and we found it. The salesman was most helpful. The delivery guys Lee and David were great, they cheerfully built the table and showed me how to operate it and look after it. Great experience!

Not FREE delivery! Just travelled from New Mills to HU in Oldham to look at some dining chairs ( Tamara ) @£159.00 each I asked for 4 then was told it would be £117.00 delivery eventhough the website states free delivery.

The Tamara dining chairs you were interested in are available to purchase online, where customers can choose either DPD delivery for £29 or collect free of charge from our Distribution Centre, located 2 minutes drive from the store.
Free delivery, as advertised online, applies to smaller items and not furniture pieces such as dining chairs, which require a specialist delivery service.
We apologise if this was not clearly explained during your visit and for any frustration caused. We appreciate you taking the time to share your comments and will ensure your feedback is passed on to the relevant team.

I purchased a Medina display cabinet which retails at £2200. I have spent thousands of pounds over the last few years with H U. Although I purchased as a display item it was inspected by me and a furniture manager and there was only a small scratch on the wood and it cost me £629
Because I thought I was moving when I have purchased all my Medina furniture I have kept it all in boxes. The Medina unit was covered in plastic. Unfortunately the house move fell through. As I intend to move I have still kept everything covered.
Last Tuesday 26/5/26 I was in the garden when I heard loud bangs and discovered the glass coming out of the cabinet. I had had this 2 years and 3 months.
I spoke to H U a Customer Care Manager (Steve) who basically said you have had it over 12 months so cant do anything, company policy. This is ridiculous there was obviously a fault with the glass! All Steve could say was sorry, he couldnt have cared less, not a sorry bone in his body
SO IF YOU BUY GOODS FROM THIS COMPANY THEY WILL DO NOTHING IF PURCHASED LONGER THAN 12 MONTHS.
They havent offered to come and look at it. What if the glass had come out when a person or animal was around it! It is now costing me £900 to replace!They have also confirmed that they would have been a fault with the glass
Housing units need to spend less money on doormen,vans advertising the firm and delivery mens uniforms etc and put more into customer care!

We are disappointed to read that you are dissatisfied with our decision.
It is important to clarify that the cabinet in question was purchased as a clearance display item at a substantially reduced price. Before purchase, the item was inspected and accepted with a known cosmetic mark, which was reflected in the discounted selling price.
The cabinet had been in your possession for over two years before this incident occurred, during which time no concerns or faults were reported. Given the length of time that had elapsed since purchase, and the fact that the item had remained stored at your property throughout that period, we were unable to conclude that the glass failure was the result of an inherent manufacturing defect.
Whilst we appreciate how disappointing and frustrating this situation must have been, we cannot accept responsibility for glass breakage occurring more than two years after delivery, where there is no evidence of a product fault. For this reason, we were unable to offer a replacement cabinet or replacement glass.
Your case was reviewed thoroughly by our Customer Care team, and the responses provided were agreed upon following a full assessment of the information available. Whilst we respect your right to disagree with our decision, we believe the matter was considered fairly and in line with our policies.

After spending £62 with delivery on a reed diffusser the stopper was so difficult to get off had a knife trying to prise it open the whole thing slipped onto the floor smashed to tiny pieces emailed sent pics etc then was told it’s your fault which I know it was but it was so difficult to open . I thought as a gesture of good will they may have replaced it No was the answer very disappointed .

The stoppers used on these diffusers are intentionally designed to be a tight fit to help prevent leakage during storage and transit. However, we appreciate your comments regarding the difficulty you experienced when trying to remove the stopper, and we have passed this feedback on to the supplier for their review.
From your description and email to our Customer Care Team, we understand that the stopper was particularly difficult to remove and that, while attempting to open it using a knife, some of the fragrance leaked onto the bottle, making it slippery. Unfortunately, this caused the diffuser to slip from your hands and smash on the kitchen floor.
We are genuinely sorry for the frustration and upset this caused. Whilst we are unable to accept responsibility for accidental damage that occurs during use, customer feedback is extremely important to us and we have ensured that your comments have been shared with the supplier so they can consider whether any improvements can be made to the packaging and stopper design.
