I've been a customer of Home Essentials for approx 18mths, with no issues. But, since the 14/08/23, between faulty goods & extremely poor customer service, they have been a complete & utter nightmare. I had a garden rocking bench that was damaged, so I requested a returns for it & was told to allow 72hrs for someone to contact me to arrange collection. My local courier knocked to deliver something & said he had a return to pick up. (no notification from home essentials)
Then I had a bed & cooker delivered. The cooker was delivered & installed on the 17/08/23, the delivery guys dropped it, so I rung up H.E, made an official complaint & was told to allow the standard 72hrs for someone to call & arrange a collection (still waiting on the call) then the bed was delivered & after getting it all out of the boxes discovered it was faulty, so requested a returns & again had to wait 72hrs forvthis to be done.
Then on the 23rd a 2nd line support team guy called reordered another bed for me, said I'd have to wait 2 days for the collection of both the bed & cooker to be arranged. 2 weeks after my original request for the cooker to be collected, I've heard NOTHING from ANYONE about it being collected. The bed was picked up over a week after I requested it & only because I spoke directly with the delivery company & the replacement one was delivered today with the same fault as the first one.
I'm promised that someone will call me back regarding my complaint & to get the cooker collected & NO-ONE ever does. I would NOT recommend this catalogue to anyone as the way they treat their "valued" customers is ABSOLUTELY appalling

Order something on the 19th August, had a lame set of excuses on the 23rd August about not being able to fulfil the order, further email on the 25th with different reasons as to why they couldn’t provide the item. Still haven’t had a refund.
Luckily it was a cheap item, as this is clearly a scam website run by thieves.

Claimed on live chat if I paid for next day delivery it would DEFINITELY be here the next day. It was ordered before 11pm and on a Tuesday but still didn't deliver it TODAY. Now I will probably have too have time off work again tomorrow as there isn't anywhere safe where I live too leave it.

Wonder if they would refund loss of earnings

Avoid total scam took money and then cancelled order due to being refused credit. i have good credit so i have no idea why refused especially as i never asked for credit and paid in full by card. no explanation as too why it was cancelled or why there going on about credit. just got told to wait 5 days and someone will send an email

SCAM company! ordered sunscreen and the wrong items were shipped, they provided a label, The received the return on June 2, their email to me said they will refund in 6-12 days. Almost 2 weeks still waiting for a refund. They will NOT reply to emails any longer, sent numerous emails. They owe me over $400. Filed a dispute with my credit card company. Next filing a complaint with the BBB & the FBI. Save yourself trouble, company is a bunch of thieves. Wish I would have read reviews BEFORE I ordered

Have ordered before and never had a problem always received item within a couple of days. However, my phone broke and needed a new one quickly so ordered and paid next day delivery. 6 days later item is still processing. Emailed them on the 2nd day they asked for details not heard a thibg back for the last 4 days. Spoke to online chat yesterday and was told the relevent team would contact me within 3 working days. Its really not goo enough. I paid £6 for next day delivery which is ridiculous when I havent received the item. And customer service is absolutely useless.

Update. A week later no item received. Contacted live chat, no answer just thst I will hear within 3 days. Emailed customer services, again no answer.

This has got to be the most abysmal company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I ordered a Japanese knife set around the 10th of May. After 7 emails and every pre written excuse on the globe I finally got my package. 26 days of waiting and each knife turned up encased in individual cheap plastic covers and tossed in a cardboard box. No case or stand. If you don't mind the fact that a parcel with track 48 takes over 3 weeks to get to you then use this company. If you don't, then avoid. Next time I will order direct from Japan. 💩

Just a terrible experience had a £150 credit limit to start with paid it off fast like within a month and now I don’t get another it’s just a scam to only provide credit to people who don’t pay it off fast so you make more money on interest and customer service was terrible didn’t even answer my question

I ordered 2 items that arrived on March 30th which were no longer needed as unwanted gifts so I sent the items back. Since then I have only received a refund for one item and the other has been in an investigation for over 3 weeks now! I have made contact several times phoning and chatting online in which I keep getting empty promises. Contacting back and forth informing me that I will get the refund with 3-5 days, then saying I will receive updates via emails, waiting more days for the relevant department to contact me etc. In which I am still waiting to receive any of those. Overall my experience with home essentials has been horrific and would like to get this resolved asap as I need my funds back.

This company delivered my order in good condition but it arrived late. They emailed me and apologised with the promise of a refund of the next day delivery charge.

This was never received, despite two email reminders, which were met with total silence from Home Essentials.

Be wary of this company. If something goes wrong with your order, you won't hear from them once they have your money.

If I could give 0 stars or - stars I would, most appalling company I have ever come across, every member of staff is absolutely useless you obviously don’t need any customer service skills or a brain cell to work for this company, ordered a table and 6 GREY chairs, my order arrived table 2 GREY chairs and 4 BLACK chairs, spoke to someone and explained, they said they would get someone to collect them but they couldn’t send out my new chairs until the old ones came back, fast forward so many days black chairs picked up, waited and waited, kept contacting them again and again, every promise under the sun, after 2 months they eventually said they couldn’t give me my 4 GREY chairs because they didn’t have any but they would give me an £89 refund for the 4 chairs (like I could buy 4 chairs new for that price and baring in mind they sell set of the chairs in 2’s for over £110 ), in the end all I wanted was my chairs id given up at that point and with a family 2 chairs just wasn’t enough so asked if I could just have the black back then (it was better than nothing) eventually got sent out some new chairs in guess what…..GREY like seriously haha so that was resolved after months to then make my payment online for the month, I paid it early so it stated £0.00 would come out of my account for that month ( to me then I am not authorising a payment to come out of my bank for them to take) low and behold what do they do take the payment out of my account nearly £180 went out in total to them, I contacted them got put through to a manager who said to give it 7 days and I will get it back, it’s been over 2 weeks now, so I contacted them again today to be told they will re-escalate it, to wait for an email and then the refund with take 3-5 working days (I’ve heard this one a few times from them, which means I’ll have to chase them every week for something to be done) it was delightful of the person to also come across with their cocky attitude telling me how things worked and they hadn’t stolen anything (of which I think they’ll find they have as I authorised nothing to come out of my bank and I have proof that nothing should have come out or was allowed to come out), most shocking customer service I’ve ever come across, they really don’t care once they have your money at all, I won’t be paying a single penny more on my account until a full refund is issued and I will be taking legal action if the matter isn’t sorted ASAP!!!! Do not use this company!!!!!! How they are still going is beyond me!! Absolute joke of a company!!!!!!!

I ordered a bedroom package inc a wardrobe, bedside tables and dresser. Was made to wait 2 months, when it arrived it was a completely different colour to the one advertised, it was damaged, different handles on the dresser and the delivery driver left the removal wheels on and he told me not to tell anyone as they’re not allowed. He said they were easy to remove but I cut my hand open trying. I’m DISABLED and this was a horrific experience. It was supposed to be fully assembled but it wasn’t. Tried to contact Home Essentials 5 times but every time it’s a 3 day wait and every time they only addressed 1 of the 5 issues. Awful experience, would not recommend. They offered me a pityful discount even though I could take legal action over personal injury, so I’m getting a solicitor.

This website is selling product according to their choice and availability.I have ordered green small bag and they have delivered pink bag.Then I have sent a mail to them and they reverted after my second reminder that they will contact me soon …I haven’t received a single call from their side and not even a single mail after so many reminders.They are just making people fool so plz stop ordering from them.I am safe because I have their bill as well as all proofs of mails so that I can raise complaint in consumer court.

Absolutely appalling service.
Firstly our bedside table was damaged, we had to reorder a new one and be out of pocket well still awaiting our refund. They organised a return which was sent to the wrong address, days later.
Then to top it all off our wardrobe draws, extremely damaged. Our wardrobe is completely up bar the draws, which took a lot of time and effort to complete. They expect us to dismantle this and return it, again well being out of pocket. Rather than simply sending us the two parts which are damaged.

Hi all, just a warning, when you go onto home essentials website or app, things are double the price, if not more. I recently went into B&M, and realised that they have started selling home essentials products at a 3rd of the price compared to the app. For instance a 4 tier bathroom step shelf thingy Bob, in B&M it’s £23 and online it’s £59. Stay well away from both. Very poor quality merchandise

Completely incompetent. Bought an item which had the wrong delivery address, told the address could not be changed and I had to cancel and re-order paying an extra £125 - and that I would receive a refund for the difference. It took 4 months and many phone calls to get this actioned as I was given countless false promises. Useless company - AVOID

I ordered an item of furniture (drinks cabinet), on delivery and opening I discovered I had been sent the wrong item (HiFi unit), I requested an exchange only to be told it could not be exchanged, I would have to return the item and I would be refunded once the item was received, keen to have the item of furniture I wanted I agreed to make a 2nd payment for the correct item to be delivered, and would await a refund for the first item. The second delivery arrived, and yet again was not the item I ordered, I have returned this item but still not received a refund - do not order from the company

Have tried calling this company numerous times but no response. Sent a few emails also to request a return and refund but still no response, very poor customer service. Won't be using this company again, once I get my refund back.

Ordered an item on Tuesday, showing as processing, on three occasions a call from an unregistered, unverifiable number (call it back, no identification), call screening they provide no information so it cuts them off as telemarketing spam callers.

Absolutely useless
