Homebase - Edinburgh Arvostelua 

I purchased a wheelbarrow. As I was loading into the car I noticed extensive rust on the metal frame particularly at the joints with the plastic body. All the other barrows in the outdoor garden section were similar. The only option was a refund. All these products should be withdrawn.

I did a click and colletct (5 x photo shelves and 2 x damp collectors) at Edinburgh Craigleath around mid day on 21st Feb. When I got home one of the shelves didn't have any wrapping, the fixings were missing and no covers for the screws. Another shelf had split thin plastic cover. Took them back, and explained that was how I got them. The assistant, in front of other customers got on her intercom and requested a member of staff to check if that was the way they had taken them off the shelf (obviously thought I was lying). She also said didn't I check them prior to departing the store, I replied didn't she check them? I said that there is a cemera on the till and she could check if she wanted - she didn't want to. Manager arrived and explained that some customers try it on when taking things back. No apology given for the fact that I had been supplied faulty goods, my waste of time of 3 trips to Homebase and obviously thought I was lying about it (in front of other customers). She then went to give me a refund of £40 however I explained I bought them online and they were £32 so to be fair I only wanted the £32 back. What a shame, I have spent literally thousands of pounds at Homebase over the years, they really need to train their staff properly (or maybe it's company policy to treat customer returns in this way?). Not every customer is trying it on, maybe it is the store trying it on, supplying unusable goods resulting in about 1.5hrs of my wasted time.

Carolyn told me about an offer on terracotta plant pots which I did not know about soaked myself money, if Carolyn had not told me I would have paid twice the price, any saving for anybody is great but a saving for a disabled senior citizen is most grateful Thanks Carolyn. 😊

I bought a set of reduced Maxwell Wlliams Designer homeware this evening. To my horror when I got home and opened the box, not only were the dinner places porcelain and not fine bone China, the plates are old, scratched and used, which I was shocked that, someone's decided that they are worth selling, to start with the plates should have never been on the shop floor . I contacted the store with my disappointment and spoke to one of the shop assistant, she insisted that the plates are not used or scratched that's why they were reduced. And I asked her if she took a look at the plates before displaying the box on the shop floor? I never received a straight answer, I felt she was not helpful at all, she was very rude saying 'that's why they are reduced! In the future, I will not be back shopping at the Hopebase Edinburgh.

Appalling customer service, was asked to go get a trolly, none available in store so had to go out and back in again and then given absolutely no help in getting the items to my car even thought the sales associate struggled to get them on the trolly in the first place. Just rude

Being able to collect to collect within hour was great.

The shed base grid and pea gravel arrived in a timely manner and were left in the desired location.

Returning a couple of throws bought for our sofas from Homebase, Craigleith. Had to remove one throw from the packet to try. Was questioned why it wasn't put back in packaging as when it was bought! Explained to the VERY RUDE member of staff, that we tried our best to put it back as it was. He was only going to refund one, when I explained that it doesn't fit, AGAIN! Eventually both throws refunded. Very poor customer service, especially since we shop regularly in that particular store..
