A positive experience
Communication is excellent. There is no pushy sales pitch and I felt that the Mark who came and talked me through everything, really understood what I needed as well as my budget. Anytime I phoned the company, I always had a cheerful voice at the end of the phone to help. Although there was a problem with the fitting date due to illness, Hammonds managed to send Dariusz who worked constantly, arriving early and leaving late without hardly taking a lunch break. Everything was left spotless and tidy and the whole experience was really seamless from beginning to end. I spent a lot of time researching different companies before committing as well as local joiners. Hammonds was actually cheaper than a local joiner who was giving a one year guarantee compared to Hammonds which was 10 years. All in all it was a very positive experience.

Friendly and knowledgeable designer visit.
The designer was very pleasant and knew all the answers to our questions. The range of finishes and handles etc was wide and comprehensive. However a subsequent meeting with another supplier provided a design that we preferred. Hammonds costs were far more reasonable however but the design provided by Hammonds would not, at the end of the day, made me satisfied that it was the best solution for the space.

Michael for obvious reasons was here longer to fit my wardrobes and he undertook the work to a very high standard and I am very happy to recommend all of the above for both service and the quality of the furniture.

Frustrating situation dealing with Hammonds post-installation and poor customer service
We had wardrobes fitted by Hammonds in 2 bedrooms last week. In our main bedrooms, we had wardrobes built in the alcoves. We had a lovely designer John, who took the time to visit twice, to ensure the wardrobes would fit perfectly in the space and the interiors would be designed in the most optimal way as well. Somewhere along the way, it seems the plans changed so when our fitter came and installed them, the wardrobes were not built in but put in the alcove with any gaps covered. The fitter has done a really good job, and the wardrobe in our bedroom look amazing. But because it seems the plans were changed, assume due to negligence when second measures were taken, we have now ended up with two wardrobes that are not symmetrical and not actually built in the alcove, just one side nearest the wall. We also can’t decorate or use our main bedroom because we don’t know if and when Hammonds will come to fix the issue.
Speaking to customer service has been of little help so far, and the most frustrating part of the experience. I called on two days last week, both times I was assured someone is looking at this and I’ll receive a call by the end of the day. I called again today, spoke to a friendly guy who also said they’re trying to understand what happened but yet to have anyone come back to me.
We are no left in a very frustrating situation where we have received no help from customer service, no indication of what went wrong or what happens now, and where we are stuck with wardrobes that are not what we designed. They are nice wardrobes but this is not what I would expect from a project costing many thousands of pounds. The wardrobes are different in the way they’ve been built in my alcoves. They are a dark colour so it’s very obvious there is a design issue. Not sure how else I can escalate and finally receive some help. I am leaving a review as prompted by an email with my honest feedback. If your job is done well, than these are great wardrobes but seems when mistakes are made, there is little help provided

I was supposed to have a wardrobe built but it couldn't be completed as a part was missing. Without any communication the part was delivered the following day and luckily l was in to receive it. I phoned to rearrange another visit but I have to wait a fortnight for another date to be completed.

Really pleased from start to finish…
Really pleased from start to finish with our Hammond's experience. Everyone we have dealt with has been great, from the showroom in York to having the initial visit from Daisy, the survey from Catherine and the expert fitting from Darren. Maxine was also very helpful over the phone. Built well and made to last a lifetime we will definitely be using Hammond's for more rooms in the future.

What’s can I say I’m utterly…
What’s can I say I’m utterly disappointed and shocked at the poor service and quality from Hammonds.
1. Fitter didn’t turn up on the day of fitting.
2. I told the fitter I didn’t want a rushed job as this was a two day fit he said he could get it done in one day and the quality would not suffer
3. Poor quality finishing to the wardrobes
4. Offered compensation of £137 for a service that cost me £3700
Do not use these people much better services out there if you look
