Order 483207 has been an incredibly frustrating experience from start to finish. What should have been a small understairs cupboard project has now dragged on for 3 months with unacceptable levels of service.

Both the salesman and surveyor measured twice, yet somehow the doors were manufactured 20 !!! cm too small. It is hard to understand how such a major error can happen after two separate measurements.

Day 1: No contact from Hammonds, no apology, no ownership of the mistake.
Day 2: We contacted them ourselves to seek a resolution, but customer service were dismissive and unhelpful.
Day 3: Someone finally called, promised to call back the same day, and never did.
Day 5: They called only to offer a new fitting date that suited them, which happened to be my birthday. There was absolutely no effort to prioritise our order or bring it forward after their own mistake – just excuses about standard factory lead times.

The attitude from the customer service team has been disgraceful throughout. No urgency, no accountability, and they even didn’t care to provide communication in writing.

I expected a professional service from a company like Hammonds, but this has been one of the worst customer experiences I’ve had. I would strongly advise others to think carefully before ordering.

I think they can do a better job in the following area.

Firstly, a change of door style without a change of design. A resurvey is actually not needed. A simplified process should be adopted. But I understand the resurvey adds no cost to the company but to the customers (ie additional resurvey fee and delay of installation). Maybe that’s the reason why they prefer to keep the process.

Secondly, if the company can organise the delivery and installation date efficiently, they could do the same for rubbish collection. Again, rubbish collection adds no value to the company as full payment has been fully made or financing arrangement started. There’s no incentive for them to ensure garbage is collected immediately. I have the installation completed on last Fri and no one contacted me on the collection (now Tue). So I’m not sure for how long I need to live with the rubbish in my hallway.

By the way the fitter , Tim Thomas, has done an excellent job. He arrived on time and handled the materials with care. He made sure each component was perfectly aligned before wrapping up.

But my experience with the company was a bit disappointing.

We’re so happy with our home office, the quality and finish of the furniture is lovely. Our fitter Ollie was great he kept us updated everyday on what time he would be arriving and kept the house clean with dust sheets.

I would like to give a big thank you to Steve our fitter. Through the whole process he kept us involved and informed in every aspect of the fitting. He was polite and respectful and always cleared up each day. To be honest the whole process from start to finish was effortless each individual listened to our requirements and brought them to life. I would have no problem in recommending Hammonds to anyone.

Didn’t go ahead with this as they couldn’t supply exactly what I wanted, but they certainly bent over backwards to try and meet my spec.

Very good service from all departments, design, survey and fitting.
Our fitter arrived on time, having already messaged ahead of the day. A first class service and worked extremely hard through the day to get the job done leaving absolutely no mess. We were consulted every step of the way. A 5 star review as it was a 5 star experience. Wardrobes look fabulous.

All personnel helpful and professional. Only drawback was the delay caused by having to have 2 design and 2 surveys due to the first being apparently not workable. I am really happy with the end result.

The communication throughout the whole process was excellent.

The fitter Rich, worked so hard over the weekend getting the installation complete and has done a fantastic job. A very professional finish and the room was left clean and tidy.

The whole process was great, Mahmoud was experienced with design vs our budget and without trying to sell unnecessary items. We were kept informed throughout and finally our fitter Steve was a real craftsman. He worked incredibly hard to deliver exactly what we had envisaged. Thanks to all involved

But who did survey she is not professional at all she told us that drawer big enough... she put a smallest drawers... but our fitter Dan he sort it and he contacted company and they agree to change it to bigger

The salesman Ben was great. Really patient as I must have changed my mind about 20 times!! I even changed my order, but no-one complained. Then I changed the colour! no-one complained. The wardrobe was fitted today by Marco, and he was really polite and helpful, cleaned up afterwards. Nothing was too much trouble. He did a great job too. All in all I would say great service, good value for money, and happy with result. I already recommended to my friend who has booked her order too.

From our initial sales consultation to the Hammonds' surveyor and then the fitter we have had a superb experience with Hammonds. We are very happy with our wardrobes. Our fitter was extremely professional and so helpful with the final fitting brief. He completed the work on time. He was very considerate about keeping the house tidy during the works and I would highly recommend him and Hammonds. Many thanks

We booked a visit on line for 7th April at 10 am for someone to measure up for replacement doors and drawers as they had peeled and bowed. The appointment was confirmed, but nobody turned up, and despite several phone calls to different departments nobody took ownership. Was finally advised today that they will only replace if under guarantee, but you need to have new carcasses aswell before they will give a quote. Even though we are prepared to pay for them, they aren't interested. I will never use or recommended again.

Would give them zero stars if possible.
Wring designs, wrong dates, wrong info. Always have to chase them down. We are going to small claims court to recover. These guys are the absolute worst.

Nathan, your consultant was excellent. He gave good/practical advice. He didn't try to oversell, which was welcomed.
