Hammacher Schlemmer Arvostelua 

This is the short version, believe me it really is...I ordered a pair of long Range Wireless Headphones about 3-4 years ago. They suddenly went bad so I reached out to Hammacher and was told that I could get a replacement free. So I tried to order them but they were out of stock and was told to call every 2 weeks to see if they are in. Which I did. After about the 3rd call I was told they would not be getting this product ever again and my options were to get a gift cert, contact tech support, or contact manufacturer. I did use the contact info they gave me for the manufacturer and was told they don't have that product. I contacted tech support and did not hear back so I called back and they said they have no contact with the tech support and that was on me. Ok. They also tried to tell me that I asked for and received a gift certificate back in 2020 for this product. Now why would I have done that if the product was working fine back then? I did not do that but they would not listen. They are a complete rip off and they do not support the products they sell. They do not care about the customer, only about the sale. I will never recommend this company to me worst enemy let alone someone I like. I am done with them forever and they can keep my money... They would anyway...

This company is run efficiently with a little confusion behind the scenes. As long as you are persistent with your issue and are honest in what happened with your return, they will do the right thing. I am very happy with the final resolution of my problem.

I am impressed with your Customer Service. I ordered one product from your company for my wife in Novermber 2022 for Christmas. She absolutely loves it and uses it all the time. I didn't intentionally enroll in your $14.95 per month rewards program and I did not catch this until 9 months later (just today 8/7/23). Your Rewards Customer Service rep just got my account cancelled...and also got a refund of all my monthly payments to be refunded to me. I am speechless with this level of service, and I will definitely be ordering more products in the future from your company.

I followed the instructions to return a defective sound machine and was told that a replacement would be sent to me as it had a lifetime guarantee. After doing this, I received a letter telling me that I owed $51.36 to cover the cost of shipping, tax and the difference in the price. I had already spent $15 to ship it to them and at no time did they indicate that I would have an additional cost to replace. I find their practice to be very deceptive. Had I known upfront I would have additional cost I would’ve just purchased a sound machine from another company at a much lower price and saved myself the shipping cost and the aggravation of dealing with them. Never again will I purchase from this company and I’ve already spread the word about how terrible their business model is.

I ordered a blind spot eliminator mirror for my driver's side mirror, as my neck is stiff. I paid $42.93.
It arrived but will not attach to my 2015 Prius wagon.
If I return it, they will deduct $10.95 from my credit as a return charge. Between that and postage, I would end up spending $26.95 for something I cannot use.
I will keep it and give someone who doesn't own a Prius.

Purchased a light up, Christmas tree. The top part did not work correctly. Got quick response and resolution. Very happy. Don't hesitate to purchase from them.

I can’t imagine that Hammacher Schlemmer is still in business based on my recent dealings with them. I ordered a cap as a Christmas present early in December. Expected delivery 1215 but unfortunately it was sent back because of an inadequate address. I called and corrected this. The CS promised it would be delivered before Christmas but unfortunately, it was returned to the company again this time because the order had not been written correctly by the CS.

The worst customer service ever.
Charged our credit card, shipped to an address NOT registered to our card and that’s our fault???
Nothing but stall tactics and BS 7 days later and no credit!!!

There is no zero star, or they’d get one!!!

I, too, purchased a costly pre-lit Christmas tree a few years ago from Hammacher Schlemmer and found burned out LED light bulbs in the first year of ownership. The tree came with replacement light bulbs but they are far dimmer than those that were pre-installed; they must be of lower voltage. And these dimmer bulbs were lost to me in a wildfire last fall. I contacted customer service last Christmas an requested another bag of replacement LED multi-color bulbs; they never arrived. This December (2022) I contacted them again and found that H-S doesn't provide replacement lights for the tree I purchased. I went to the tree manufacturer's website and found that they do not stock or sell the multicolor LED light bulbs for their artificial trees. Finally I ordered replacement lamps two times from Amazon and discovered that both kinds of (same fit and exact same style) LED lights just won't light on my HS tree! I would caution a potential buyer for HS Christmas trees to be careful about the LED replacement light problems!

I ordered Heated Gloves. Paid top dollar. What came was a joke, little to no warmth. Now I get robbed of shipping fees, because they sold something that is no where close to what they had listed. I should have checked the reviews on this place first.

Ordered a 16 foot inflatable. They sent us Armor All garage mats instead. Item was sold out. Have to wait til after we ship it back to get our refund, which I’m pretty sure is not going to be refunded. Cost over 400 dollars. Stay away from this company. They don’t care.

Bought a gift certificate, they sent an email and mailed the number in an unsealed envelope. Used within a week and it was an invalid number. Service doesn't respond to multiple e-mails and the phone number they give is anther scam designed to get you to buy more and redirect you from service. Out a big chunk of money.

Bought a Shiitake Mushroom Log months ago and a dud. Followed all instructions and nothing so contacted customer contact three times but NO REPLY. Scammers and they advertise UNCONDITIONAL GUARANTEE, BS! As others, do not order or use Hammacher!

I find it amazing that this scam of a company has been in business so long, basically with their catalogue and now online presence, touting that they “test” their products and that they are all of exceptional quality, plus regaling us with their “lifetime warranty”. First of all, I have purchased several items from them through the years. All of them have turned out to be of extremely low quality, and their lifetime warranty turns out to be deceiving and basically bogus.
A case in point was an expensive outdoor clock. I purchased it from their company, since our family was creating a memorial garden from my mother, who was also a grandmother and great-grandmother. The clock came with a customized under-hanging plaque. After less than a year the clock stopped working, but being that these were supposed to be high-quality clocks, I figured there was something wrong with the batteries. I tried every type out there, and the clock continued to stop.
Believing that Hammacher Schlemmer did have a lifetime warranty I called them up. First off, the customer service rep I spoke to was rude, uncaring, and accusatory. It was as if they were trained to do whatever was necessary to dissuade anyone from any kind of refund or return. Of course it also appeared that this rep was not at all connected to the company but was a third party rep from one of those cheap overseas third-party operations that they had hired to do their “dirty work”. What I was finally told was that first off they no longer offered that item, so my option was to ship it back to them AT MY COST (which being a large and heavy item would have been expensive), and that if and when they received it, they would not reimburse me, but rather give me a store credit that I could only use for another one of their items. And to add insult to injury, if I did go along with this insane offer, and did purchase some other low-level item from them, I would also have to pay for the return SHIPPING!
At that point I looked for a local clock repair shop. I did find an excellent one and brought it over, He immediately laughed and said he’s seen these a lot, and asked if I purchased it from Hammacher Schlemmer. He said that this was true of most of their merchandise, since they inventory the cheapest materials. In the case of this clock, the clock mechanism they use is made for a small desk clock, not a large outdoor clock with large heavy hands, which is why it keeps stopping. He told me that the clock and hands of this size need a special heavy-duty mechanism to run the hands and not burn out. Although the price to replace this clock with the proper mechanism, along with the labor was about the same as the original clock, being customized as a memorial for my mother, I told him to fix it. He did, and even gave me a discount, and a bit of advice which was: “stay away from Hammacher Schlemmer!
The clock is back in our garden. And now I’m passing on his advice to you. Stay away from the scam outfit Hammacher Schlemmer. And if you do have any items
from them, be aware that their “Lifetime Warranty” is not for a lifetime… it’s not even a warranty! They do not support or back up anything they sell. And for good reason. It’s crap.

defective product out of the box . wanted to return it ,and pay cost of 10 bucks to return it . WTH never again !!!

I ordered a retractable windshield shade for my make and model vehicle. the one they sent did not fit. they then told me they don't have one for my vehicle. i have to package it, ship it and pay for return shipping and wait 3 to 4 weeks after they receive it to get my refund.

I ordered "The Musical Plush Caterpillar" for my 2-year-old grandson and it was a BIG HIT!!
It was worth every penny. It plays "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and the the ABCs song. Plus it has the entire scale from middle C to high C in the segments of this colorful soft caterpillar with a pleasant smiling face. The child insisted on sleeping with it. His parents simply turn off the battery component and say the caterpillar is sleepy now when naptime or bedtime comes.

The 6-month-old is eyeing it already! :)

Hammacher Schlemmer makes very unique and wonderful gifts.

Can't tell you exactly how angry I am with this clip joint. Hammacher Schlemmer is totally fraudulent! I ordered a jacket from them. It doesn't even come close to what they advertised. I already have a jacket like this, they charged double the going price. I promtly returned it. They shorted me $32 on my refund. Highway robbery! WARNING!!! Unless you want to get swindled stay away from Hammacher Schlemmer!

I ordered a 150 ft. lg. Expanding Contracting hose. The catalog and the packing slip describes the hose as a 150 ft. lg. hose. What was delivered to me was (2) 75 ft. hoses. Customer service told me that the catalog description is wrong, and that they always send (2) 75 ft. hoses. This is a clear misrepresentation in their catalog and must be fixed.

Unethical to say the least. Said they shipped my package to the wrong address and then told me because I ordered it on the website I would have to dispute it with my credit card company. They screwed up and owe me the item. I’m not filing a fraudulent claim with my insurance company so they could keep the money! Basically they stole 170$ from a customer. It says 174 years in business! I doubt that is how you keep business. That 174 sign is a gimmic.
