Poor sounding
I really like Guitar Pro, but what I found very disappointing in these latest versions is that I’m not able to, or at least I haven’t clearly seen how to, link or connect the audio tracks with drum, guitar, and bass plugins so that they sound better. The sound that comes out of Guitar Pro, for me, is very poor and unsatisfying. I would like to be able to add drum, bass, and guitar plugins to achieve more realistic and higher-quality sounds. It seems that in this Guitar Pro 8 version that is impossible. For that reason, at the moment, I can’t rate it 5 stars, only 3 stars. But if there is a way to do this, I would definitely rate it 5 stars.

Hello,
Thanks for your feedback. Guitar Pro 8 includes its own RSE sound banks (about 1 GB), which are lightweight by design to keep the software fast and easy to use, whereas most pro libraries often require dozens of GB.
If you’re aiming for more realistic sounds, you can connect Guitar Pro to a DAW and use your favorite VSTi instruments. Here’s our step-by-step guide:
We hope this tip helps you get the best of both worlds, and we’d be really happy if it improves your experience enough for you to reconsider your rating 😊

Thank you very much for your review and for being a loyal user for so many years!
We’re sorry to hear about the 4K screen issue. Unfortunately, Guitar Pro 8 is still limited by the Qt framework we use, which does not yet allow full native resolution support on very large displays.
Our development team is aware of this limitation, and we hope to improve compatibility in a future update.
Thanks again for your trust and support.

‘Upgraded’ from GP6
‘Upgraded’ from GP6. Very limited sounds in 8 compared to 6 and constantly crashing in Windows 11. Have reverted to GP6, much more stable and user friendly. £25 wasted.

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry to read about your experience.
We’re actually quite surprised by your remarks because Guitar Pro 8 offers several improvements compared to Guitar Pro 6.
For example, GP8 includes all the additional RSE sound banks by default, without any extra purchase. You get far more instruments and sounds out of the box than in GP6.
The interface has also been redesigned to make it more intuitive and comfortable for editing and navigation. Many long-time users have found the workflow simpler once they get used to the changes.
Regarding stability, Guitar Pro 8 is a modern 64‑bit application and is generally considered very stable, provided that your system meets the minimum requirements (Windows 8, 10, or 11 in 64‑bit, or macOS 10.13 and above).
Crashes are not expected, and we’d be happy to investigate what’s happening on your setup.

Best Guitar tool I have purchased
One of the best product I have purchased, introduced to it through JustinGuitar on a Blue Immersion course. It has been invaluable for practicing along with supplied material and recommended song, use loop and slow dow to practice with. I have used it to transcribe, where it is great, slowing down individual bars and looking to help identify the notes, and then using it to properly write down the rhythm as well as the TAB, I have learnt and improved a lot this way.

iPad/Tablet full version
I’m a professional guitar player currently learning to read, play, and write sheet music.
Overall, the software is excellent — super easy to use. The display is clean and intuitive, and I really love it.
BUT: It really needs a full version that works on iPad/tablets.
That would make GuitarPro the ultimate guitar tool and ecosystem for guitar players.
Hope this helps and, once again, great job creating such a wonderful platform and community for musicians!

OF course I found that GP8 is rich with features and libraries , but as a maker of LED-lit MIDI guitar controllers need to interface tablature to our fingerboard for display. And inasmuch as we are iOS-centric, we need to export the lighting stream from GP over BLE to the iTar. That's our goal.

It seems we’ve exchanged several times via our support channel, and we replied to your last message back in June 2025. We haven’t heard back since then, but of course we remain available if you'd like to continue the conversation.
Guitar Pro doesn’t currently support Bluetooth MIDI output (BLE), but standard MIDI output is available in the desktop version and might help with routing note data to your system.
Thanks again for your feedback and your interest in Guitar Pro.

Très bonne expérience qui mérite 5 Étoiles.
