Technical know how and friendly service
It was great to receive a message the previous night to confirm the time of my engineers visit. Vince was extremely polite from the start and resolved our three week long heating issue in very short time. His knowledge and expertise also highlighted some other snags which have been passed onto our developer. Overall first class service.

Running toilet
We called Gledhill out to fix a continuously running toilet. The engineer was on time, clean in his work and very polite. He made sure the fix worked (replacement outlet seal and valve), and explained the problem and the fix.
Fully recommend Gledhill.

We reported a toilet issue on Monday…
We reported a toilet issue on Monday morning. Although the toilet had running water, it was still flushing and usable.
An engineer attended on Wednesday and removed a part, leaving the toilet completely unable to flush. My 84-year-old disabled mother has now been left without a functioning toilet.
We have not been given any date for repair or resolution, nor have any interim arrangements been offered.
Leaving a vulnerable elderly resident without basic sanitation is unacceptable. The lack of urgency and communication is deeply disappointing.
I would strongly urge this organisation to review how it prioritises repairs for disabled and elderly residents.

Good Afternoon Mrs Thorpe,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We have attempted to contact you several times to discuss this directly but have not yet received a response.
We understand how important this issue was for your mother, and we are sorry that you feel the service fell short of expectations. After reviewing the case, it appears there may have been some misunderstanding around the initial repair. As confirmed with the customer, the toilet was still flushing and usable when the engineer left on Wednesday, although a part was required to fully complete the repair. The further issue only reoccurred after he departed, and we were not made aware of this until Saturday.
We agree that the Friday call should have been escalated, and this is being addressed internally.
When we spoke with the customer on Saturday morning, we began arranging an emergency plumber. While doing so, the required part arrived, allowing us to send our own engineer out the same day to complete the repair. As we do not routinely provide weekend appointments, this was arranged outside our standard remit to ensure the situation was resolved promptly. We have also sent a bouquet of flowers as a gesture of apology.
For clarity, as set out in the Terms and Conditions of the Complete Care Breakdown Agreement, we are not an emergency or same‑day service. Any issue requiring emergency attendance or occurring outside normal hours is reimbursed for reasonable costs.
We would never knowingly leave a vulnerable customer without essential facilities. Had we been informed on Wednesday that the issue had reoccurred, we would have been able to escalate it sooner.
We remain keen to discuss this with you directly so we can bring the matter to a full and satisfactory conclusion.

Absolutely 1st class service
Absolutely 1st class service. The engineer who attended was Endrit. He was very efficient, pleasant and polite. He explained everything in detail and on completion after restoring the hot water he explained that a part necessary to make the boiler functioning back to good health a heat exchanger would need to be ordered and fitted subsequently. Within minutes of departure he came back with a big grin on his face having found the part that was needed. He then proceeded to take the boiler apart again and it was fixed in a short space of time. I cannot praise your company highly enough from the initial telephone call and the helpful and cheerful lady who arranged a speedy appointment for us through to the happy ending and a job well done. Thank you!

An engineer attended to do annual health check. Arrived on time and completed the work very timely.
Any time I’ve had to request a visit due to a problem I’ve had very speedy response with issues all resolved.

Installation of a Pulsacoil 150RH boiler
I had a new Pulsacoil 150RH boiler installed on Monday, 9 February. Subsequently, I enjoyed a wonderful shower the following morning and was able to wash my dishes with plenty of hot water. So, I just wish to pass on my thanks to Sam, the engineer who installed the boiler who did a fantastic job not only installing the boiler, but giving us training instructions. We have to also point out how courteous and amiable he was throughout our experience. Great job Sam!
I would also like to thank everyone at Gledhill who I came in contact with in person and on the phone from the time the fault was reported until the installation of the new boiler. Following my initial phone call to report the fault, an engineer was dispatched the following working day. On his arrival, Rich, the engineer quickly diagnosed the problem and subsequently reported the problem up the chain. His immediate action made it possible for me to place an order and quickly deliver and install my new boiler. The whole experience was handled quite expeditiously and professionally by all Gledhill staff I came in contact with. Thank you Gledhill.

When is a warranty not a warranty?
Our water cylinder was 3 years old when it failed. It had a 5 year warranty. After several months they finally collected the cylinder (I had to pay to have it disconnected) for it to be assessed by their technical department. I then spent several more months chasing them for the report which finally arrived claiming that there was not a manufacturing fault with the cylinder and that they did not know what had caused it to leak but that they were not prepared to replace it under the warranty. Nearly 1 year later we are still without hot water and I will be taking them to small claims court. Do not purchase anything that is manufactured by Gledhill. You have been warned.

Absolutely appalling company
Absolutely appalling company. Our boiler broke down three times in the middle of winter, leaving us without heating and hot water. Because of their failures, we were forced to pay a £900 bill last year, which is completely unacceptable. When you try to get in touch with this company, the experience is awful. You wait an extremely long time just to speak to someone, and even when you do, nothing gets resolved. They do not do what they are supposed to do. Our landlord has been incredibly helpful, paying £400 per month for a maintenance contract specifically so that any issues can be fixed immediately. Despite this, both us tenants and landlord are left struggling, while this company does nothing to help. Their process is endlessly long: you call, they send an engineer a week later if you’re lucky, who only comes to “check.” Then they order a part, and only after that do they send another engineer. A month goes by with no heating and no hot water. This has happened repeatedly. At this point, it genuinely feels easier to get through winter without heaters than deal with this company again. The service is inefficient, frustrating, and completely unreliable.
Do not use this company. We strongly advise anyone considering them to look elsewhere.

Excellent company, product and service. I had a Pulsacoil for the past 25 years and replaced it recently with a new model. I have always had the service contract with Gledhill and since a couple of years I also have the complete care package. Always been supported very well. trust and peace of mind. To me it’s very good value for money.
