Gift Republic Arvostelua 

I am from Slovakia. I ordered a Star and did not come to me yet. I was complaining, but they want from me to send extra 5£ to reprint and sent to SK. It is not my fault, that it did not come to me, so I think, they should sent it for free!

Ordered gifts from this company via not on the high street. Received a dispatch email to say it would be delivered Wednesday 11th. No sign of package, no update or tracking details. It is now Thursday afternoon and still no package. Tried ringing the number on company website.... no answer. Sent an email and again no answer.

Our son received a movie poster as a graduation gift. Upon opening it, it was found to be defective. (Completely missing the scratch off coating!) We sent pictures, and customer service agreed that if was defective, then went on to tell us that they couldn't help us. We are stuck with a useless gift.

We were given a gift of a star from this company. We didn't open it at first - we were saving it. When we finally did open it, we found it had an expiry date. We were asked to pay over $8 more just to use it. We strongly encourage others not to use this service.

I received an ‘adopt a donkey’ gift for my granddaughter, it arrived in a beautiful bag. That was as good as it got. Inside was a tin with a few pieces of paper with donkey facts, a postcard and instructions on ‘registering’.
I noted the donkey sanctuary we should register with was over 200 miles away.
I saw in the small print that only 10% goes to charity, and it’s not necessarily the donkey charity mentioned.
It’s not worth registering as the charity are not really helped let alone a donkey ‘adopted’, and it’s much to far away to visit the sanctuary.
An email to them resulted in a standard reply, sent to everyone who complains, which is a lot.
It’s far better to look up an animal sanctuary and to support them directly,
Please don’t waste money on this as a present.

This review has received a reply from Gift Republic below, stating that the real reason for these ‘presents’ is exposure for the charities.
Yes I now know about a donkey sanctuary which is over 200 miles from my home. My sister thought she was buying a present not publicity for the charity, meanwhile there is no present.
I support lots of animal and other charities, this was not the point of the purchase, I sent her a picture of the contents of the tin and she felt conned.

This poster was ordered in plent of time for my niece's birthday. It did not arrive, so I got in touch and they said that it would be resent....and it did not arrive.

Bought " Grow It Sloe Gin " really disappointed in this gift It take a lot of prep - 2 weeks in a plastic bag taking care to keep moist then 18 weeks in the fridge The person I spoke with at Gift Republic was NOT rude or unreasonable but I felt this was a bit of a pig in a poke gift

The worst customer service I've ever had. I ordered through a third party. It seems that the item was out of stock all the time. Neither the third party, or Gift Republic informed me until I contacted them, even though I have an invoice from Gift Republic. I've just had two very heated phone conversations with a representative from Gift Republic, continually interrupting me, very rude. A big fat zero for customer service. Like many companies they want customer feedback but do not wish to listen. They should try turning to receive rather than transmit.

Do not use them unless you want to spend your time arguing with rude individuals with no idea about customer service. They can poke their good will gift.

Just received a belated apology from Gift Republic after several weeks. It doesn't make up for the ignorance and arrogance. Too little, too late. I'll stick with my original statement. Never use this company.

And so it was that I received an adopt a penguin gift box today as a present. Delighted. Duly logged on to enter my code. No brochure in the tin re choice of penguin or online. Information to say sorry you can't choose so & so but still had them on the drop down box to choose from. Basically you only have the option to hit on a name from the drop down list. Filled in the contact us to complain which would not allow me to submit by way of kept telling me I needed to use English! No highlighting to suggest where I had gone wrong so I could rectify it. Logged on to their website to see if I had missed something ie a list of penguins to choose from. Nothing there just something saying this product is no longer available!! So basically they are selling this on the high street and all it is is a few sheets of meaningless paper in a tin....Went to put something on their facebook page & it wouldn't allow me to post anything on there either...Rip off!

My daughter bought fo r my birthday, from the National Trust , a wild flower decorated vacuum flask a gift republic product.
I used it for the first time last week and was surprised to find that having filled it with hot liquid, the outside became warm! When it came to drinking the contents tbsp hours later, the coffee was stone cold. It looks pretty but is useless
