The game itself is full of cheaters. And the developers are not doing anything about it. The customer service gives you an AI generated answers, like you are an empty headed idiot. But they are somehow right... I palyed their game... Now I know it's just a scam, and no real support are behind that.

Most services take the hint, if you block your card, that is paired to the service, that you are no longer interested in said service.

This one does not, but not in a fun way, if it makes me write a post about it.

In modern times, where you can instantly block your virtual card, it’s generally more easy to block your virtual card than go through a lenghty process of cancelling subscriptions for your services. Some services make it easy as clicking one button, others dont.

28th march I made the “mistake” of blocking my virtual card that is connected to my geoguesser account. I just did not want to play it anymore.

Boy was I for a surprise. I was expecting one or two emails about problems with my payment method.

The first one came the next day, same with the retrial of charging my virtual card, understandable, pretty normal stuff, no problem with that.

2nd notice 31st march

They are really sending an email with subject starting with 2nd notice, like, who are you, bank?

The email was worded differently telling me that in order to keep my account active I need to update the payment method. The retrial of charging my virtual card came at the same time

3rd notice 2nd april

This email was just a heads up, that I dont even have ro log in to update my payment method. This email was worded more pleasantly, than the last one, taht implied my account will be inactive.

The retrial of charging my virtual card came the same day.

Final notice 4th april

This one tells me, that my account will be cancelled automatically. The retrial of charging my virtual card came the same day.

After this point, would you expect any retrials of charging your virtual cards?

No, definetly would not expect it, after failing the final notice.

This is where it started to bug me.

Am I the only one who thinks this is actually insane?

Tldr;

After receiving final notice, due to blocking my virtual card I have gotten 3 attempted chargins of my virtual card in a span of 13 days after final notice.

This is what I wrote to the support vs. which answer I got.

The issue was not resolved and it took to long to resolve.I wrote about the cheating problem on the 18.03.2026 and I just received email answering questions about how everything is handled if I got banned. However this makes no sense, because this isnt what I wrote about. How can a support be so stupid. They have to read my mail to know what I want, just reading the first word of the subject makes no sence.

I have never seen such obvious cheating as in this game. On the one hand, they can’t even get Ukraine, but on the other hand, they manage to guess a location in South Africa within 32 km. That is no longer within the bounds of any logical explanation for guesses.

Therefore, I demand that the 22 points my teammate and I lost be refunded.

Additionally, it would be great if something like this could be detected automatically. Another option would be to adopt the multi-system from the Pro League, because then the opponents would already have been eliminated and the match would have ended fairly.

As it stands, your game is really not enjoyable.

I request a response to this email and expect improvements, as many players feel the same way.

When I logged in to Geoguessr the other day, it gave me a warning with a RED background saying:

“Warning about fraudulent websites

This website may try to trick you into doing something dangerous, such as installing software or disclosing personal or financial information, such as passwords, phone numbers, or credit card information.”

Whatever u do, do not pay or invest anything in this game 🚨

Everything costs. You get only one free game per day with 5 rounds and you don't even get to choose the category. what a dumb game! do not recommend to anyone!!

39 DKK(6,06 usd) for five minutes of gameplay, followed by a forced 10-minute wait just to play again. This isn’t a game, it’s a greedy cash grab. Charging that much for five minutes and then locking players out is beyond greedy. This is exactly how you destroy a game.

totalement infesté de tricheurs. Voyez Youtube et Twitch, les joueurs trichent en direct sur les matchs classés. Les joueurs de russie semblent trouver normal de suivre bêtement une voix IA après avoir simplement avancé sur la carte sans véritablement chercher d'informations. Cela ne fonctionne pas face aux joueurs expérimentés pour l'instant parce que l'IA n'est pas assez précise mais bon nombre de petits joueurs vont être déclassés injustement par ce genre de tricheurs. L'abonnement devient trop cher et méfiez-vous des achats non souhaités lorsque vous ne faites que visiter la boutique. Le logiciel ne vous demandera pas de confirmer votre mode de paiement.

Complete garbage - glitched half the time, cant see countdowns, so I just instantly lose if i dont lock in first. I paid for this trash. Completely useless and a total robbery. Horrible

I asked customer service why i got banned and they wrote a reply after more the a whole month and did not resolve the issue at all and gave me that "proof" which was 2 outdated replays i couldn't watch because they were a month old. wow isn't that surprising maybe reply fast so i can see it. Never had such a bad experience with any service

I was misled by the "Kč 69 / MONTH" offer. The interface hides the fact that it's an annual plan until the very last second, and it's selected by default. It's a classic dark pattern design. Thankfully, I managed to get a refund through Paddle, but the user experience is very dishonest.

I remember playing this game a few years ago in a PC class in elementary school. It was a great experience I shared with my classmates as we happily discovered every corner of our beautiful earth. Upon returning after a few years, I expected to let loose a little and enjoy the thrill of the adventure from the comfort of my house. What I stumbled upon was a whole different experience. After playing the first game, I hit a hard realisation that nothing in this capitalist-run world can be enjoyed free of charge. Don't get me wrong, I understand that the development of such apps must cost something, but the way they have milked the players (I'm assuming thanks to the massive media boost they got from the internet-famous guy) is outrageous. I am very disappointed.

Absolutely atrocious monetization. I played for two rounds and got told to wait 12 hours for (presumably) another two rounds. What have they done to this game? I remember when you could just play a full game without interruptions.

What's the point of a subscription service?!?! You have to pay to experience a game you can play with just one person dropping you in a random place on Google maps and guessing. Just run ads! I'd rather get 3 ad free games then have to watch ads than have to pay to get to play a game that's frankly not that creative. It's such a basic concept and it's really upsetting that you have to pay money for something like this. It doesn't make sense. Especially because they could make a fortune running ads than a subscription service for something so simple and something that used to be free. Just more proof that they've been getting money hungry. At least the game is fun before it forces you to pay. Incredibly disappointing.

Geoguessr colluded with Audeobox to manipulate a contest and cheat their audience. The game itself is also filled to the brim with cheaters. As a whole, this is both a bad product and a bad company. Don't waste your time.
