Furniture Village - Worcester Arvostelua 

I tried a Dreamer power recliner in Worcester store and it reclined so quietly and smoothly that I decided to order one. As I don't get many visitors, I asked what budget sofa would match it and I was told the Titch, so I ordered the ex-display model for £995.

First of all, the Titch is uncomfortable and the seat I use was considerably flatter after 1 week of use, despite plumping as shown in store. The good thing is that the recline mechanism is quiet. The Dreamer arrived (late) weeks after and the Titch being an ex-display model only took a few days to arrive. The deliberycontractors were very good and careful.

The Dreamer, a £1395 armchair to help with my chronic pain, arrived with a single patch of leather which is a different grain and tone from the rest of the sofa. It is also very wrinkled. Furthermore, the recliner 'clunks' and I reported this ny email on day 1.

FV sent Castelan out (they paryner.with them, bear this in mind). The inspector came in with no tools except a tape measure. He was 'testing' the recliner and I could hear the clunking from the other side of the room, but when I said, "Can you hear that?" twice, he rudely did not reply.

He flipped the armchair over and said the sound was parts settling into place - in particular, a plastic part (this part was not named). And he said that there was nothing bent to cause the sound. Effevtively, according to him, the clunking was "normal".

The sound seems to be coming from the enclosed area near the controller and he didn't bother to inspect the area there at all.

Regarding the single patch on the arm of the chair, he said it was from a "different cow and tans differently". Absolutely terrible response, as premium products should undergo careful batch matching! I am not unreasonable, but to have a single arm that is mismatched and looks like a patchwork chair is not good. It stands out from the rest of the chair and looks like the arm has been used for months or years, it is so wrinkled. I stopped using the chair as soon as I wrote to reject it, so it has had very little use.

I requested a copy of the report and Castelan made it sound like the clunking was normal and the mismatched patch was customer expectation. I wrote an email saying that I was exercising my 30 day Right to Reject under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and received a reply saying that Castelan found nothing wrong, so FV dismissed my rejection. I have since replied again, giving FV til 24th August before I make a Section 75 claim with my credit card provider and guess what...no response has been forthcoming, despite sending a video of the quiet Titch vs. the noisy, clunking, patchwork Dreamer.

I also asked to cancel my Care plan worth £260 because I am not spending that much on a sofa worth £995 and this was ignored as the insurer sent the certificate afterwards. FV ignored my request, despute my legal right to a cooling off period. And the insurer said I cannot cancel - it has to come from the retailer! Sorry but you pay, you say!

I will NEVER shop with them again amd certainly do not recommend the insurance they offer. I have ordered from FV in the past, but given this latest experience, I strongly feel that they have let me down and have had utter disregard for my LEGAL consumer rights. I am prepared to take this to court if necessary, as I will not be fobbed off when such an expensive chair has a non-uniform appearance and a starkly different patch in an obvious area and the recliner mechanism is noisy. Evidence has been sent and Castelan has basically admitted a noise and difference, but havr minimised it as "slight". But their report is proof of a noise and different patch and I will not give up until I receive a full refund of £1395 + £260 for the Care Plan. They are invited to collect the chair asap.

Another thing I disliked is that the FV delivery men took photos of inside my property without permission. I questioned this and they said it was because people make false claims of damage. But he still carried on taking photos. I felt like this was an invasion of my privacy and am very upset by it. It is not right.

Good quality furniture, reasonable prices, nice coffee and cookies and non-obtrusive staff.

We were left to take our time looking around and trying out chairs. Once we choose some, someone was available to do the paperwork. The delivery men kept in touch and delivered on time. A pleasant experience all round.

I went along to black pole in Worcester. I needed a new recliner chair. Was met by a lovely assistant called Bex. She put no pressure on and let me browse. I chose my chair and bought it. She was very helpful. And I would hesitate to go to her again when I’m ready for a sofa.
