Worse contractors ever to come through my door
They dont finish the work left the washer outflow pipe capped without telling us
Left me for weeks having to run upstairs to do washing up and filling kettle as they didnt provide temp sink downstairs
Painter never painted doors left parts of skirting missing
They mislead you and dont do the work you agreed on
Weeks to respond to your messages and took over a month to finish a kitchen what previous contractors took 2 weeks to do
Their clo tricks and decieves you i hesitated to agree having work done over losing 2 cupboard space but week before they started work he phoned as said the housing association agreed to put the 2 cupboards in so i agreed for kitchen upgrade once work started he informed me couldnt have them installed
Id never let this firm through my door again

Fortem needs a shake up, however the engineers that came to my property were 1st class. Paul and Herbert were thorough, professional and sorted the issues quickly. Highly knowledgeable and courteous.

Minus 10 stars if it was possible.
I have taken 5 days off work in a few months for a plastering job. First 3 appts no show. So I’m lost wages for nothing. 4th appt finally someone came but to view the job. 5th appt Jordan the plasterer turned up, stood and moaned about his job and life for 30 minutes. Baring in mind this is a full room replaster, my son’s bedroom emptied, I had an electrician round to remove the heater. As Lord knows these cowboys would’ve plastered into the vents.
And Jordan then accused me of wasting his time, that he could have been earning money from other jobs that day. Yet this was a 2 day job. Jordan decided he didn’t want this shitty job and left my property, called his boss, lied and said I wasn’t home. So re booked for a month away. Son left with no bedroom to utilise.
Jordan if you read this ya lazy cowboy.. I learnt how to plaster via YouTube & did a smashing job in 1.5 days on top of being a full time parent and working.
Absolutely diabolical service from Fortem. Not even been a tenant for a year yet & I will not bother with them again, costing me wages & leaving a child without a suitable bedroom because Jordan the plasterer just couldn’t be arsed. What an absolute joke of a male generation you all are. Disgusting poor service.

Having new kitchen installed been left without a cooker for four weeks the contractors have done one day and 2 hours work all week not very happy with this

Terrible. I've had no cold water in my bathroom and a toilet that doesn't flush from the 24th December 2025. I've been fobbed of multiple times with we are trying to get hold of our contractor. I had a new bathroom installed in November 2025! A useless bunch of lying cowboys apart from Robert the polish man, who is punctual, honest and a decent man.

Bunch Cowboys called wed 7th 8.30am Very unfriendly lady answered. No Heating Not coming untill 15th Great way to leave a 66 yr old freezing Useless

Rubbish service by brain dead cowboys who like to play games with tenants, but are too thick to properly cover up their unprofessional conduct.

Fortem came to repair damp and mould which was so bad, I had to move out whilst work was completed. The amoba didn't like that perfectly reasonable complaints had been made about their unreasonable behaviours so they decided to take revenge, leaving all downstairs windows open and leaving the house insecure for the weekend. I only found out because as a DV victim with my perpertor living within 8 minutes of my house, my property has a marker on it for priority response. The police found my property open and climbed through the windows to check on my safety. It was all documented so I complained to Fortem and BCC.

Fortem told me their staff did not leave the windows open but they would get to the bottom of it. Instead, they lied and tried to cover things up. They couldn't because I had a reference number from the police, where everything was documented. It can't be denied, even though this brain dead lot tried.

BCC tried to take Fortem's side until I contacted the press, who then contaced BCC's press office for a statement. I then contacted the housing ombudsman who very quickly found in my favour. I was told my complaints hadn't been looked into and they hadn't even tried to contact the police to enquire about the reference number provided. I was given some loveley compensation!
Thanks Fortem for being your useless selves. I hope the staff involved have to repay the compo from their own pockets!

And watch this space because my personal injury claim (you know because your staff refused to do their job properly and their actions led to my son being hospitalised for 3 weeks) is with the council's solicitor. I'm praying all those with personal involvement in the circus they created have to dig deep and pay it themselves!

You tried to kill my son deliberately. You knew his medical conditions, including the fact that dust can kill him and I'm not allowed to even open my windows for th8s reason. Instead of listening, you refused to use dust sheets, leaving the property unsafe for my son. You then deliberately left all windows open.

Here's hoping the Fortem neanderthals get the sack and they never get another council contract.

Absolute cowboy so called plumber section came out twice had a rude bloke we had a flooded bathroom said it wasn't faulty and left 4 days flooded floor same cowboy came out decided it was electrical problem can't get electrician out for another week my has cancer told the cowboys boss this she is really suffering not being able to wash properly they just don't give a s#it

I’ve resorted to purposely leaving the leak now along with pictures and videos with recordings of interactions and phone calls ive made

Had engineer attend my property today then walks off the job due to me trying to make sure that work is carried out due to me having rodents in the property for almost 3years which the contractor is aware that the housing ombudsman is involved with this matter that’s why he’s here to carry out the inspections to assess the damages which the rats are causing the contractors from Fortem who they normally sends never seem to have a clue to what they are doing this is why I want to have video footage to support me, I constantly get contractors who do other jobs and doesn’t no what they’re doing and not qualified to do the job which they are sent to do which doesn’t make any sense And this the same contractor that they sent last week for plumbing when saying this to contractor he walks off the job and gets in his van, I went to have a word with him to be told rudely to move out way and almost ran over my foot when he was reversing

Had an electrical problem and the issue was raised as an emergency. Guy turned up at 10pm tonight which was a surprise. He sorted the wiring in the light, no issues there. However he put in a new led lightbulb and took the brand new bulb in the packaging away with him. I wouldn’t mind but at £20 for bathroom lightbulb I am annoyed. There was no reason for him to take it, especially as he was given it to use by my husband. Guess I can’t get a refund on that now !

One of the worse firms I’ve ever seen fitting a kitchen it’s like none of them have qualifications, a bunch of cowboys just doing the shittest job possible. Don’t ever use this firm to do anything for you and then they can’t ever turn up when they say they will. Remember quality over price. That’s why there cowboys

Had a guy from Fortem named Dave attend our flat yesterday for Birmingham City Council after reporting Damp and mould the day before. Dave took this very seriously and didn't take long to clean it and apply an anti-mould paint for now. He also was on the phone to the office stressing the importance of the job and to push to have something done about the problem. Dave explained everything that he wants to get done for us. He was very concerned and helpful. A big thank you to Dave.

Extremely poor service and no urgency for emergency repair

Reported an emergency repair for a blocked toilet and sink connection pipe through Fortem for Orbit. Was told it was a 24-hour emergency, yet over 24 hours later, nothing has been done and I’ve had no proper communication.

At 4pm on Saturday, I called again and was told they were “extremely busy” but that someone would come that day. At around 9:30pm, a handyman finally called saying he wouldn’t make it until 2am Sunday and asked if we could wait until Sunday daytime since we “have a second toilet.” I agreed.

Sunday came and went — no one arrived.
When I called again at 4pm Sunday, I was told that because we have a second toilet, the job was automatically changed to a daytime (non-emergency) job, and the lady on the phone had no idea who called me the night before or why I’d been told someone would come.

So here we are — a toilet still blocked, water backing up through the sink, and no one on the way. Absolutely unacceptable service for something reported as an emergency.

Extremely disappointed with Fortem. No communication, no urgency, and no accountability.

Twice we have had a leak in our property and they have not repaired it. They seem unwilling to do any repairs properly and let alone attend within time frame.
Absolutely useless company and would not recommend them to anyone, our property is getting into such a bad state of repair, we soon will not be able to live there. A very sad statement to have to put on here but people need to be aware.

I was waiting for large radiator to be fixed but it wasn't fortem who was at fault it was gas engineer company ist one just bled radiator 5 minutes and left without waiting 20 minutes for all radiators to come on today's men fixed the job it was boiler pressure down too low again no appointment texts from the office manager who is the worst so far and her assistant lazy or aggressive attitudes lm contacting stonewater via trustpilot and they refer it back to lazy office staff from 2 weeks ago

***URGENT FIRE AND SAFETY RISK in Ellington Court North Way Headington OXFORD OX3 9EF. Fortem builders partially blocked our MAIN Entrance / Exit (FIRE ROUTE) to the building.

If you could give anything less than one star I would. I wrote a review the other week about how my repair has been waiting to get down for 10months. Once again I clear out 4 rooms to make it easier for the ceilings to be done. They were meant to be coming today but once again no show this will be the 3rd time I’ve cleared out these rooms and no one’s turned up. They are now saying Thursday what is the point of an appointment if they can’t keep it. I wouldn’t touch this company if I had a choice but I’m in a housing association house and they contract them. STAY WELL CLEAR of this company complete waste of your time.
