STILL WAITING FOR CONFIRMATION THAT THE ITEM IS READY TO COLLECT...

DIDNT REALISE IT WOULD TAKE THIS LONG, WOULD HAVE JUST VISITED THE DAM SHOP AND PURCHASED IT THERE AND THEN...

Currys automated phone line is illegally blocking my rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 by forcing me to Hoover repairs. The CEO email box is bounced. I want a UK manager to contact me to handle my faulty washing machine.
Over 18 phone calls and two complaints that have been "closed" despite never receiving any contact from them as promised.....twice.
Washing machine that is less than 6 months old and under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 I am entitled to a free repair or a relacement within a reasonable amount of time. This has been going on for over 2 weeks now.
Staff just fobbing me off and directing me to different departments. It is an absolute joke and illegal what they are doing!

The worst part of this is the fact that store staff are told to tell honest paying customers to leave the store and refuse to talk to them if they mention anything legal! So come on Currys, ignore me now? We have now purchased another washing machine from a reputable provider with a two year warranty WITH the RETAILER!

Additional information. Currys decided to try and arrange an engineer through Candy Hoover direct and sent us an email stating Hoover would not allow them to book an engineer as it has to be the customer or owner of the machine, When I tried to do this, Hoover stated we may be charged for the call out. Again this is Manufacturer fob off at its best. I told them I am refusing to deal with the manufacturers as stated and they kept stating I needed to contact a number which ultimately leads to domestic and general and hoover. I told them no I will not do this and this is the response I got: " I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. As your item is now outside the return policy period (30 days), I am unable to process a return or exchange. Please contact the number I have provided for further assistance, as this is the only resolution available to me at this time. " they then ended the chat. LETS BE CLEAR CURRYS Your agent, Alexander, has made two critical errors in writing that completely break the law:

1. "Outside the return policy period": This is false. Currys' internal "store return policy" cannot override our statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, which protects us against major faults for up to 6 months without us having to prove a thing.
2. "Only resolution available": By stating this was the only option and disconnecting me from the chat, you have provided absolute, irrefutable written proof that you are flatly refusing to uphold consumer law.
The BIG question now is my next steps! For anyone reading this, please I beg you to think twice about dealing with the power of Currys and the system they have implimented to evade their legal responsibilities. Luckily we can afford another machine but for those who cant, you would be royally screwed over with Currys false promises. I am going to setup a blog with the full chain of emails and screen shots of the web chat for ALL to see for themselves and will be adding a link to it from ALL review sites within the UK and pray this does enough to prevent others from suffering the consequence of Currys actions and losses not to mention damage to personal property and the inconveinience of not have an everyday essential product like a washing machine.

Best Currys shop I have ever used. The staff are very helpful and have given me extra goodies on top of the products that I have bought.

Staff were very busy but were very helpful. 157 Mandy explained everything that we were unsure about.we were told delivery would contact us the day before with a 4 hour slot, the time given was 00.00.00.

Was able to place my order in store as I do not purchase on line. Order was ready for collection the following day and as it was heavy for me I was offered assistance to the car without having to ask. Appreciated the initiative shown.
