Brilliant service so far, very efficient.
While I'm still in the process of rectifying inconstencies in my credit report, the responses and actions taken by Checkmyfile have been exemplary. I had 8 financial associations listed in my report which I disputed, they have already satisfactorily dealt with 7 in one week.

Brilliant experience using check my…
Brilliant experience using check my file. There was some information that was wrong on my credit report and they have helped me every step of the way and it’s now been removed. I spoke to a few different members of staff and each one must’ve done the full research as to what was happening before replying so it was smooth and seamless. They reply quickly and clearly and have helped me so much.

Avoid checkmyfile if asked to provide a credit report by a mortgage advisor
Similar to a majority of the other one star reviews I have just discovered, I was told to provide a credit report to my mortgage adviser from Checkmyfile. I was never aware I had signed up for a paid subscription service. Aside from the fact that the mortgage adviser should have been transparent in pointing this out (making me question whether they also get royalties from Checkmyfile for getting people "on the hook"?) I think this is a poor reflection of Checkmyfile who have refused to refund me 14.99 on the day it was taken and instead have offered 5 as a "gesture of goodwill". There is no goodwill in scamming people out of money - particularly at a time in their life when money is really tight when applying for their first mortgage.
I also questioned why their had been no reminder email about an upcoming subscription payment - the only communication was a welcome email to the credit report which - on the day of having to provide a large quantity of different documents to a mortgage adviser - is easy to overlook the inconspicuous subscription details much further down in the email.
I'm glad new regulations are coming in to combat companies operating dishonestly like this. A subscription service needs to be a consensual agreement with adequate warning and opportunity for the customer to cancel by realising they are even in a paid service rather than gaining customers until false pretences, which is why I am still requesting a full refund.

I was concerned I’d been a victim of identity theft . I was initially advised to check all three credit agencies but the was told that by going onto checkmyfile I could do all three at once.
