I’ve placed two orders in two weeks and they have canceled both orders because their online inventory is from 2001. Don’t give them your business.

My wife purchased boots from these guys for my Christmas present. I tried them on Christmas morning and they were goofy. They were digging in to the inside of my ankles. She called them and they said she could exchange for different boots. Then later they emailed and said the were sending her the boots back because she had purchased them more than 30 days prior to Christmas time. This policy makes Christmas shopping at Cavender's a risky business. I've been a Cavender's customer for years but that's done.

I placed an online order before Christmas.they didn’t send me a confirmation email. It’s January and I still have nothing. Still no emails etc. they sure took the money out of the bank! Never ever will I order from them. It’s a scam! Do not order anything from them

I spent an hour trying on boots and found pair fit great $479.99. I found salesman and handed him the boot told him what size I needed which is what I had in hand. He says ok I will get the other one and have up front. I’m like wth !!! I’m pay $500 for pair boots no telling how many people had there foot in and walked around … I bought pair work boots last time for $129.99 and they were all nice and new in the original box wrapped up… cavenders sux I will never waste another penny there.

I ordered two men’s sports jackets for Christmas presents and a week later I got an email saying the order was canceled. No explanation.

I tried 3 times to order a coat and even talked to customer service 5 times and my order kept getting canceled Go to BOOT CITY and get with you need.

Gave 1 star because I have to to be able to give a review. I otdereda and paid for 5 pair of chinch jeans for Christmas. They shipped them out but UPS believed them to the wrong house. One package I got because the neighbor brought it over the other one I still haven't found. Long story short I called Cavender's and waa told they had some in the warehouse and would send them right away and email me a tracking number. Never got one so called again and waa told there waa no paper trail on a replacement order. Said they would try and find them and see if they could find out if the first replacement was taken care of before they tried to send one. Not happy at all with how they have told me one lie after another. Think they have not only ruined my kids Christmas but has more than likely lost any more of my business!!! Beware, you will be lied too!!!!

The only reason why I’m giving a one star is because the timing on the delivery was great but the boots I got was awful. They have been worn all stuffed up on the bottoms for over a $400 boot. This is what I get to gift to my child on Christmas.

I ordered a pair of big kid pink glitter boots for my niece for Christmas. I received an order confirmation immediately and three day later a “ your order is being processed.” On Day 5, I received an email saying my order had been cancelled with no reason behind the cancellation. I contacted customer service and I was told the item was no longer in stock…7 days before Christmas. I spoke with a supervisor and was told that they checked with all their 100 stores before notifying me. HINT: The inventory system must be dysfunctional if they do not know within 24 hours that they don’t have the item. Other than refunding my money there was no additional compensation. I explained we were 7 days out from Christmas and there was no way I was going to be able to secure a replacement and I was hoping for some compensation, a coupon or assistance finding a replacement - I got nothing. I went online to Amazon to purchase our second choice from a different store. Had I selected this product initially it would have been on time. Now the delivery date in January 2 -10. Thanks Cavenders…because of your incompetence I have no Christmas gift for my niece. As a side I did ask the Cavenders supervisor how many of the cancelled orders go out per day and she would not share the stat. My guess is it happens frequently. The excuse of it’s a busy time of year does not fly - you are a retailer and should anticipate this! While I will never purchase another item from this store all I can say is you need to do better with inventory control and customer relationships.

STAY AWAY from this horrible store/website. I bought my son a pair of cowboy boots and the side completely blew out after 3 months. Thats quality right there. Their customer service sucks. They do NOT care about their customers and making it right. Managers have no authority. Disgusting! Do yourself a favor and shop else where. Never seen such a poor company and ridiculous customer service! Do better Cavenders...it's $50!!!!!!!!

Cavenders cancelled my order for a youth cowboy hat shortly after I ordered it on Dec. 2 without ever notifying me. I started getting part of the order on Dec. 7. When I called, they said the hat had been cancelled (not by me) but I could reorder if I wanted to since they were in stock. Needless to say, I bought Stetson. Think long and hard if you're making a purchase from Cavender, especially if you're wanting a timely delivery. They cannot be trusted.

All right you guys are scammers I have place a big order 2 weeks ago and now today I received an email me telling me my order was canceled and when I spoke to one of the customer service they hang up on my face. I'm also going to make sure and contact better business bureau not right what they are doing.. I will also make sure and post all this on all my social media account. .

Terrible online experience. They canceled my order several days after. It was a gift that obviously never made it and I was noticed several days later. I placed a second order trying to give them a second chance and it has been 5 days and still don’t have an email that says that my order has been ship. They tracking system is a joke. It said they couldn’t find my information even though I have an order number from the email when the order was placed. Terrible.

just make sure you wont get boots with scratches on the sole because you might not be able to return it. i called donnie havard, the manager. i even talked to the sales person that what if you might not be able to accept it for returns. she said as long as i have worn it in carpeted areas, it will be fine. but they insisted that it was brand new. i have learned my lesson and never trust these people again. i just literally bought my boots a day ago.

Horrible service! They dont keep up with the statuses of tu our purchase I exchanged an item and I didn’t hear from them till I called, to tell me that they no longer had the item

Don’t waste your time and money. I have placed an order twice and a week later they send me an email saying that my order has been canceled. I called costumer service and their excuse was that they had sold out of the item. ( twice)

Cavenders may have started out well but it has evolved (or de-volved) into just another apathetic trendy wanna-be western store no different than any other. You can probably get the same items for a LOT less money on Amazon or at Boot Barn. As I prepared for an upcoming trip (4 weeks abroad) I had ordered a couple or pairs of jeans from their website two and a half weeks (2 1/2 weeks!) in advance of my trip. PLENTY of time for them to receive my order (since it's electronic) and ship my items - especially since I reside in central Texas (same state) and live just 200 miles from their offices. A full week later I had not received either the jeans nor had I received any shipping information. I reached out on the customer service form located on the website and received an email back stating that it takes them up to EIGHT BUSINESS DAYS (almost two full weeks) just to 'process' an order before it's ever shipped. EIGHT DAYS to 'process' in the world of instant communication and two-day shipping. I have received items ordered on eBay from individuals located overseas in Japan and Poland in less time than it takes Cavenders to even 'process' an order (and what is that, pressing a few keyboard buttons and printing a shipping label)? I am now leaving for my trip (WITHOUT the items that I ordered in plenty of time for arrival). This will be my last order from this company and, given the cold, stuffy and detached customer experience I have had when shopping in-person in their stores, I will from this point forward shop elsewhere (like Boot Barn) and not darken one of their doors again. Cavenders is…. Overrated and GREATLY Overpriced - $80 for a pair of jeans when I can get great jeans at American Eagle, The Buckle or Boot Barn for HALF of that.

EDIT: I received an unrequested order cancellation from Cavender's in my email today (one day after initially posting this review). I did not request a cancellation of the order and my personal educated guess is that they were notified of this review and cancelled my order in petty retaliation, which only furthers my resolves to shop at Sheplers, Boot Barn and local places and to avoid Cavenders like a food trailer selling discounted week-old sushi rolls.

I found this review below posted on Reddit from one of their former employees as well and I thought that I'd include it here.

…Former Cavenders employee here, thought I’d provide some insight to how they ship stuff out. Products are picked off of the floor of the store that has a “surplus” (could literally be one extra) of the item and they’ll ship from there. Oftentimes boots will come in boxes that aren’t even the right one, that’s cause stores will only keep X-amount of boxes stored. Shipping boots out is usually just going to be the sturdiest box available. On the floor, we tried to match boots to the box. Often times we’d only get the brand. Because of the “off the rack” shipping nature, you may get something that someone literally just tried on. Especially when you consider that the employee packing the box typically doesn’t care enough to get one from behind that hasn’t been tried on by other customers. I’d like to say I’m not defending this practice or the company, just explaining. I hated working there, especially towards the end of my time. They have high employee turnover at those stores for a reason. I would take my business elsewhere.

Webster TX location. Shopped on and off through the years at other locations. Kinda run of the mill. Yesterday, I was hunting for a hat. Nothing major but gonna spend a couple bills. Zero customer service. Not that I really need it, I know what size, style etc. I guess my mistake was going there in the first place. They weren’t even busy, all standing around BS’ing.

Sent fake boots! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS OFF BRAND STORE.

The worst purchase ever! Don't bother, save your sanity! I ordered cowboy boots for my husband for XMAS. They arrived defective---no insoles. I sent back immediately and they never sent replacement boots after at least 8 calls still not resolved! I paid twice too and have yet to get a credit for what I never received. Literally these people are not equipped to run a basic business. So many chances to correct the situation, even talked to 2 managers who assured me "they personally were going to make sure the order was fulfilled.". Still no new boots and no credit to my card. What a complete waste of time for an XMAS present! And it's almost Valentine's Day!
