Very quick car hire experience, everything ready as soon as we arrived at the desk. Helpful staff and a very nice Ford Focus car with no issues to report for 10 days. Communication was excellent and a previous year when we had to cancel our booking due to a close family members serious illness nothing was too much trouble and we were refunded straight away. Will certainly use Buggs again.

Used Buggs many times and always have had excellent service courteous and even a humorous response when we had an unfortunate experience with our lawn mower shooting a stone at the rear window and smashing it. They did not charge us for cleaning the bits of glass out that I had missed. I just had to write this having read the one star reviews about cleaning charges. Those folk must have left an unholy mess then!!
Thanks Buggs for the past hires and be kind to me on June 10th 26 our next hire.

Good quality car, great service, and none of the "you must buy our insurance because we know where there's a scratch you'll never find" nonsense that "others" try when extorting cash from innocent tourists!

My family all use Buggs when flying into Limoges; they are incredibly helpful (I hadn't got the credit card I used during booking but they were really good at helping me out).
To all the few poor reviewers I would say, if you had looked after their cars like your own, and taken the trouble to speak to them when you had a problem, then you would have been treated with equal respect!

BUGGS car hire at Limoges Airport is a good, friendly, efficient company. My family has a house in France near Limoges and if flying out we always use BUGGS. Their cars are always clean and low mileage and the staff friendly and helpful.

Absolutely fantastic service. Was greeted at Limoges by Sharon who could not have been more helpful. Gave us tips on parking etc. Returned car to lovely lady who was equally fantastic and will definitely book with Biggs again. Car spotless, easy to drive and great instructions.

They seemed ok at pick up charging £600plus for 6 days hire for a Ford Focus…” oh it’s the high season”… apparently we returned the car in an unacceptable condition inside. Normal debris from shoes from a family with two small kids. The check out was awful. They have no car park signs… just a set of green cones. Their sign left in the desk with instructions was very unclear. The appearance of an angry, unhappy and unhelpful Buggs employee moaning about having to multitask made the whole thing distasteful. To be charged €60 for them to vacuum the car is taking the p**s, yet very predictable and in line with the employees attitude. They will argue we sprayed cow dung around the car and ate takeaways in it for 6 days, Having rented cars across Europe for many years, they are to be avoided.
Their most helpful employee actually worked for Avis opposite their desk. He gave us everything we needed to check out for Buggs.

We got a very friendly welcome and a brand new car. They were extremely helpful when we returned the car. I can highly recommend them and i would definitely rent from them again!

Limoges Airport - A great no fuss car rental company. What you order is what you get, with no hard sell on extra products on collection of the car. We had to extend our car hire for an extra day when our flight was cancelled and this was confirmed pretty quickly at a fair price. If French language is not your strongest point, no worries as the staff all seem to be English, or the ones we met, did, so that was a bonus especially when our plans changed at the last minute. I would definitely use them again without question. Fortunately we had no problems with the car, so cannot comment on how they deal with you in a breakdown or damage situation, but from our experience they were fab!

Excellent service! My first time hiring a car abroad. The staff were so nice! We had a lovely, clean fiat 500. 2nd driver was added for free. The 500€ deposit was back in my account the day after returning the car. Altogether great service which put me at ease. Would have no problem recommending Buggs!

Can’t recommend Buggs at Limoges Airport enough. Great selection of cars, always in first class condition and cleanliness. The staff are fantastic, particularly Oliver who is incredibly helpful, resourceful and goes the extra mile to help customers with even the smallest problem.

Probably the WORST rental experience I have ever had, and I travel and rent cars all year round for work.

Buggs Car Hire proudly markets itself as an English rental company operating in France: a charming concept, until you actually deal with them. It turns out their interpretation of “British service” involves all the condescension of a 70s headmaster with none of the charm or competence.
After returning their vehicle in perfect condition, I discovered that getting my €500 deposit back would require more persistence than a door-to-door salesman. When I called to inquire (quite reasonably, I thought), I was treated to a masterclass in intimidation tactics. Apparently, expressing frustration over missing money is grounds for threats of police involvement, go figure.

Perhaps they should rebrand as “Bugs Car Hire”, at least then the clear issues would be advertised upfront.

We hired a vehicle from Buggs in Limoges for just under a week. The car looked and smelt brand new which is always a good start!
The personnel on the desk were friendly and efficient-we were on our way in no time at all.
On return an employee came out to see us (as I was parking), checked the vehicle and we were again able to depart quickly.
The car was externally pretty dusty (rural France) and having read some of the reviews I was slightly nervous about this-however I needn't have been.
Lovely customer service, prompt and efficient booking (and updates if you make changes) and friendly staff-would have no hesitation in booking with them again.

They saved our trip. Excellent service. Long story short: 6 stars platinum experience. We will be back. Thanks guys!

Disappointing they allow you to enter dates , airport , times , take your money … then email to say oh sorry we don’t have that vehicle you booked !! Arrogant in there reply’s ! Says it all , wish I had read the reviews before I booked , I would have given a wide birth

I have just had an incredibly upsetting experience with Buggs Car Hire Limoges Airport, and I strongly advise against using their services.

When I returned the hire car after a week in the countryside, I was shocked to endure not one, but two irate phone calls with different staff members (Oliver and Amanda), ranting and raving about how I had 'abused' their car. Their main issue seemed to be that there was dust transfer in the boot from shopping bags and other items I had used during my trip. I had no idea that I was expected to valet clean the car before returning it, and this was never mentioned when I picked up the car.

In all my years of renting cars, I have never encountered a company with such unreasonable expectations. To be accused of abusing the vehicle for some dust is not only unprofessional but also deeply frustrating. I paid for the car rental with the assumption that the company would handle cleaning the car as part of the service, as is standard practice.

I have just received an invoice for 78 Euros for 'cleaning' of the boot. Seems steep considering it probably needed a quick hoover and wipe down. Also a rather cheeky seeing as I didn't make a fuss when told on pick up that the 'brand new' car had a fault which meant it was unable to connect to my phone for navigation etc making driving in France rather difficult.

If you're looking for a smooth and hassle-free car hire experience, I recommend avoiding Buggs Car Hire. Their staff's behaviour was totally unprofessional and frankly, intimidating. Do yourself a favour and rent from a more reputable company.

We didn't actually hire from Bugs (stupidly) however, we had major issues picking our vehical up as there was no one manning the Avis desk and then it was lunch time so we couldnt get through to anyone, Oliver from Bugs, was so helpful, found us other numbers to use, could have left at 2pm but remained until we were sorted and even sourced a car he would do for the same price just in case. We would.absolutely recommend Bugs to all our family and friends when visiting us, if we need to hire again, it will definately be with Bugs.

Great family run Car Hire in Limoges. Very efficient service with a smile and good humour.
Any small problems seem to be resolved without fuss or drama. Happy to recommend unreservedly.

Sept 2024 - First time hiring a car and Buggs car hire at Limoges airport made the process really easy.
Very easy booking process and car was ready for us when we arrived. No problems with the car for the 5 days we had it and return process was just as smooth.
Will definitely use Buggs again when visit the Limoges area of France.
Tip - make sure you know how the automatic gearbox works on the hire car before driving off (we did a tour of the carpark in first gear, before going back to Buggs area and asking how to put it into “Drive” 😂)
