Watched 3 episodes of gone with my monthly subscription, then the rest were locked unless I paid an annual subscription of $150. I don’t stand for that kind of entrapment garbage so I cancelled my subscription and did a google search - got a plot summary and found out how the show ends. Take that Britbox. I’ll never be back.

Britbox you suck!!!! After watching you for a few years and now you stick this uncharged to finish a series is truly a suck thing to do!!

Aggravating need to upgrade to watch existing series. Tried to use their support which forced me to use "just answer," supposedly for a $5 refundable fee. The humans were unable to help, and my credit card was charged $95!

They get you hooked on a series and then expect you to pay 149.99 to continue watching it! Outrageous! Not worth it. I plan on cancelling.

Brit box app on TV is Horrible! 90% of the time it was either buffering or not working at all. Went to Prime and subscribed through them and the keep wanting more money to watch the final episodes of shows Brit box is so poor on their own channel that they now are mad that people don’t subscribe to. Charging more money for what’s ALREADY BEEN PAID is plain wrong!

Horrifying platform! Loved watching AWoman of Substance but BritBox forces you to pay for an entire year, $149, in order to do so. Sorry, Chaps, I will just have to cut you off. I already watched the original shows on Prime so your extortionate behaviors will not force me to give in. Nothing I really want to watch on your platform anyway. You should be ashamed of yourselves trying to extort annual fees when people can barely put food on the table and keep driving to work everyday and can’t pay their utilities. Tonight I cancelled my upgraded subscription to BritBox after only a few minutes. I was told I had to upgrade to continue watching A WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE. I had watched 5 episodes, using a special $.99/for 3 months offer thinking I could watch the remaining episodes in the series. (I had tried to cancel my subscription and this was offered to me so I took the bait, not realizing it locked me out of many of the shows!) After unraveling what was going on, I found out that the only way I could continue the remaining 3 episodes in the series was to sign up for a one year subscription! Really???? Are you kidding? You must be really hard up to think this is okay and after reading how angry others are for the same reason I think you will get the message. This has to be the worst thing you could ever do to someone you want as a customer. All you seem to offer are detective shows anyway, so you will not be missed by me. Woman of Substance was one of only a hand full of series worth the effort. Good riddance. In the future if you think you are so great and want to mislead your customers in this way, you can at least offer more content we would like to pay a year 's feefor. I watched everything you had to offer me in a few weeks, so you will not be missed. Too bad you had to use the excellent Woman of Substance in such a manner. I have to wonder if the creators of that series are aware of the way you conduct your business.

Brit Box has some colossal nerve demanding more money from subscribers in order to watch more episodes of certain series. They should be investigated and fined by the FCC for this! Good bye Brit Box!

Britbox is the most deceptive app ever! Suck you in to watch one of two seasons to find out you have to pay 150.00 for an annual subscription to watch! Absolutely disgusting!

I used to love Britbox, but now, the shows I like are on there, but I can't watch them unless I pay more for them. Months later, they gradually release one show a week or every two weeks. I've canceled my subscription because why should I pay to watch shows they won't let me watch?

Shame on Britbox for its cheap trick of letting viewers start with the first 2 episodes of “A Woman of Substance,” then, in order to continue with the series, they spring the surprise that you have to upgrade to “Britbox Premium.” Pure sleaze.

Dubious. Once you have a subscription and become invested in a show, this app likes to lock the last episodes until you level up to britbox premier with annual payment option only of $149. This is a first for me as I have netflix. hulu. amazon. hbo. peacock. paramount. None of which takes such advantage of their customers.

Horrible video quality - bad on alleged 4K, horrible on the old SD TV shows -worse than the picture on the ancient analog, CRT screens.

They advertised a "Free 7-day Trail" and then immediately charged me for a full year of the subscription. Customer service argued they didnt have a free trial despite it being advertised right on the page I signed up... That was the only reason I was willing to try it without knowing what was on it. Scammers.

I was a big fan of BritBox and really enjoyed the shows. I still do love the shows but all the annoying ad/reels for other BritBox Shows which are forced upon us before each episode of a show is enough to drive you mad. I'm not paying for a service that forces me to watch ad/reels for other shows even if it's for their own BritBox shows. I have complained and cancelled my subscription.

Used to be BritBox was great. Now they have shows advertised you can’t watch unless you subscribe to premier. What a bunch of balls! I’m English and pay for all the subscriptions just because my English shows are on there. What the hell. I thought BritBox was wonderful. But now realize they just repeat EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME. They need to DO BETTER! And stop nickel and diming us to death. Seriously thinking about cancelling.

BritBox used to be great, now they are charging a $149 dollar premium fee for content you used to be able to receive for 10.99 a month. I love watching the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and I have missed it in its entirety this year because BritBox wants me to upgrade to see it. Here’s an idea ….instead of charging a one time huge annual fee for “premium “ content why not just offer a monthly increased price for that?

On May 6th, 2025, after a Google search I saw that BritBox carried Dr. Who.
I subscribed to BritBox, which included a free 10 day trial. When I searched the BritBoxes library, I didn't find Dr. Who. Unfortunate, but these things happen. So I cancelled the subscription.
On May 16th I was by BritBox for the subscription for the next 30 days.
I went to there site and cancelled the subscription again. This time I was paying attention and realized that the subscription still wasn't cancelled.
I hit help and, after getting through the AI assistant, was connected to an agent. I told them the problem and asked for a refund. They told me that records didn't show that I had ever cancelled the subscription and asked if I ever received an email confirming the cancellation. I told them no and to cancel my subscription and issue me a refund.
They did cancel my subscription and said they would issue a refund. I asked them to send me an email of the conversation for my records. They said they would and that it could take up to an hour before I received the email. I check at 12:00 pm, and still didn't have an email, so I waited.
Around 2:45 pm I had a second conversation. They claim that they had processed the refund. I pestered them about the email. All they said is they would send it after that chat.
It is now 3:05 pm and I still don't have the email.
Although they did give me a ticket number, I still don't trust them to send the email or to issue the refund. I think this is just a ploy, hoping I will get tired of this and give up.

We really like Britbox programming but...
if you are having issues with your subscription there is seemingly no way to make human contact with anyone. Frustration is unavoidable with their ineffective chatbot.
So I paid for a month subscription and i cannot access the service.
