Horrible deceptive trade practices in signing up and watching two episodes of the show one signed up to watch only to then be required to "upgrade" subscription for 4 times that amount just to complete watching the series. Awful. Do not care, at all, about their customers.

I bought a gift subscription for my mother and then it was impossible to start without adding my credit card information which will be charged automatically after one year. This was not clear when trying to redeem the gift subscription so it took an hour to finally get customer service to admit that a credit card number was required. They also would never directly answer my question as to whether or not they could activate my mothers account for me since we were having so much trouble. When advertised, it was never clear to me that they would require further payment information just to open the gift! It is ridiculous and predatory and so unprofessional. It left me with a very disappointing view of BritBox, and it reminds me of a money grubbing company. Yuck.

Very disappointing to be charged for shows I already paid for. Absolutely wrong to add extra cost to subscribers who pay enough. I won’t be paying for Premium.

BritBox you suck! I paid 10.99 to join just to watch season 3 of The Hardachers 3 days ago. I watched one episode and just now when I tried to watch another one it says I must upgrade my plan to Premium for $149 for year??? Get outta town!!! Please tell me how many people are actually paying 149 bucks at one time just to watch BritBox???

Britbox is a scam. You start watching a thriller and you can only watch the rest if you subscribe for a year which is about 149 dollars. Stay away from this !

Over the past 3 days I’ve had the worst experience with a cable app. Britbox customer service is horrible. You talk to a Britbot that can’t help really, I get a subscription on Sunday to find out on Tuesday that the company that helped me setup the subscription isn’t a part of Britbox. Yet they can’t explain how Tech Services was able to get me connected. If the subscription would have continued to give me service Britbox would have never known that Tech Services was illegally giving people accounts. All they could do was tell me to do a claim through my bank. Be very careful if you want to use Britbox. Supervision named Shelia who refused to provide last name isn’t much help either. Just be very careful using their service. You don’t know who you will get.

I have had it for about 2 months. A HUGE disappointment. It's a scam to get you to fork over for a year.
1. There is basically no search function to speak of. There are 5 genre headings and the search bar only accepts titles.
2. There is basically no sci-fi.
3. So many titles are premium subscription only.

Thought it was great to receive a two-month free subscription to britbox. I started watching two series right away and they were fantastic and then all of the sudden I no longer have access to finish those series unless I subscribe to a full year at an upfront cost of $150. Needless to say I will be canceling my subscription before my free months are up.
I guess they like to entice you and then turn the tables quickly ! way to go Britbox you suck !

I have always enjoyed BritBox. I felt their programming to be a cut above. Living in the U.S. I can plainly see a disgusting monetary gouge for profits, as it is quite common here :( I can’t believe that BritBox are keeping episodes behind an upgrade demand! Yes a demand, you can’t finish watching unless you agree to an upgrade. I will be canceling.

I’m canceling. They lock the last 2 episodes of certain shows asking for more money to update your subscription in order to continue watching. The greed is disgusting. They won’t get another penny from me!

Up selling your package in the middle of a series is completely off the rails.
If you have a premium package then place the series in the premium package don’t bait and switch me. There’s nothing more frustrating and there’s no quicker way to lose my business

I used to love this channel until they asked for $149 to upgrade or else I don’t get to watch the next episode of Gone. I just might cancel period. That’s extortion!

Hid future episodes behind $150 per year paywall. Won't pay that. Now we need to find out if what we are starting to watch will end up behind that wall-alot of trouble, too many other sources of entertainment.

I subscribed to Britbox about 2 wks ago and have already decided to cancel it when the end of month come and let all my friends and family know how I feel. I was watching the TV show Gone and realized to complete the series I have to upgrade to watch the 2 episodes left. This is the most dishonest business model I have ever seen. This is practically a bait and switch. I hope this kind of reputation will prevent others from subscribing as well. I believe by this they lose more customers in the long run.

I canceled the screaming service all of a sudden they’re fancy and have a premium and they lock you out of things screw you. I don’t need you a lot of other services out there.

I have been a customer for years. Two things irritating now: They are trying to gouge more money out of us by putting the episodes out there at the rate of one a week, and if you don’t want to wait six week to watch the whole season, just pay them more money. Second: I come back to watch and I get an ad for other Britbox series thrust in my face and have to tap “skip” to stop it. Just another irritation of people trying to pull me this way and that. I am already here to watch one of your shows. I feel like saying, “Leave me alone.”

I used a free trial and canceled before it ended and was charged the full annual price. They don’t send cancellation confirmation emails. I had the subscription through Apple and have put in for a refund which hopefully will happen. I wish I had known how many people are consistently fraudulently charged by this company.

I have been a subscriber for many years and have enjoyed many of the programs on Britbox. I just began watchin Woman of Substance and the Crow Girl. All of a sudden, I am unable to acccess additional episodes, without paying $149 for a years subscription to BritBox "premium," which should be called BritBox highway robbery. My monthly subscription is $10.99, and that seems acceptable. To demand that I pay them up front for a year's subscription to see a few shows is ludicrous.

I just cancelled my Britbox streaming subscription on Amazon Prime. We started watching a new detective series called "Gone" and were three episodes into the series. When I tried to watch the fourth episode last night, I was locked out--unless I subscribed to Britbox Premier, for $149/year!! There was absolutely NO warning that we would have to upgrade to view the remainder of the series. I just won't put up with this kind of consumer blackmail.
So bye, bye Britbox. There isn't enough new content on this service to warrant a big price jump.... See less
