Firstly viewings were a shambles. Vast majority of viewings either cancelled last minute or didn’t turn up, greater vetting procedure's needed. When we did finally sell they recommended in house solicitors Conveyancing Direct which was the worst mistake we ever made, it took 5 1/2 months to sell a six year old house. The lady dealing with our sale left half way through and nobody told us, so nobody was looking after our case or chasing solicitors for an update. Very poor communication and service all round.

Murray & Lucy at Bridgfords in Swinton are a great team. They took on a retirement flat I own and immediately found a great tenant. They handled everything, the viewings, the interviews, referencing, absolutely everything was done to an excellent standard! I would definitely recommend them, brilliant service!

If you're a landlord considering working with this agency, do not ignore the reviews. Run in the opposite direction because it will be very painful.

Bridgford placed a tenant in my property who, over the course of 12 months, failed to pay a single penny in rent, caused serious damage, and had to be removed via court proceedings and bailiff enforcement. The financial and emotional toll has been overwhelming.

In my opinion, the most shocking part was the complete lack of professionalism and accountability shown by Alia and the entire team at the Leeds branch. Throughout the tenancy, I found them to be non-communicative, disinterested, and entirely unresponsive to the escalating situation. No inspections, no proper vetting, no updates — just silence, until I was left to handle the legal and physical fallout entirely on my own.

In my experience, this agency has no effective screening process, no aftercare, and no genuine duty of care towards landlords. I’ve had better outcomes self-managing my properties with a simple £20 vetting than I did trusting Bridgford's — who ultimately cost me thousands.

Landlords — avoid Bridgford's like the plague. If you value your property, your peace of mind, or your bank balance — stay far away.

Contacted to arrange viewing-tenant in property they were going to contact to arrange appointment. I said I was not interested in viewing if tenant wanted to stay but was assured they didn't. Heard nothing about that then get a call asking if I wanted a valuation on my current home! Keep getting "no reply" emails - all I want them to do is get lost!

Bridgfords Withinton did our conveyancing a year ago. Some of the team were inexperienced (and in one case a bit lazy) but Richard Taylor made up for that by going the extra mile in helping us out. So this positive review is for him. Thank you.

Put house on market with bridgfords after very impressive sales pitch promising a high level of service. Big mistake!!! Told them I wanted them to do viewings but they repeatedly turned up after the viewers so I had to start viewings and they took over towards end.( so embarassing) most of viewers were time wasters and not in a position to proceed with sale. Staff at office getting times and dates wrong.When I took it off market because they were making it so stressful they showed no interest at all. They then sent me a letter with names of all the viewers to give to any future agents so they could charge commission if I sold to any at a later date and reminding me of all the ways they could charge me commission. Would not recommend this company at all !!!

Received an invitation through the post for a valuation. Booked time and date. I took 2 hours getting the house ready for visit and valuation. When they didn’t turn up at the allocated time I checked my phone to ring tgem and noticed two missed calls. After calling them was told that because I hadn’t picked up they would need to reschedule the visit. I am angry that they have not turned up and expressed to them that if I knew that I needed to have my phone with me for a confirmation call I would have arranged that. Very disappointed as wanted this to move forward. I will now be going to another local estate agent to move forward and leave Bridgefords in future.

I spoke to Mitchel(?) with a wish to get Bridgfords to sell my property. He could not answer my question and promised to get the branch manager to call me the next day.
For a business that relies on good communication, one massive FAIL

Bridgefords Manchester - Moved into the property only to find no heating and hot water upon arrival, aswell as a broken oven. Reported these issues plus others to 2 property managers. My initial property manager Gemma refused to help me in writting and the other Sabrina makes me wait weeks for a single responce. 2 issues were deemed necessary by thier contractor upon visiting my apartment but Bridgfords have since decided against carrying out the work. I was at one point contacting them daily for help but the property manager you want is never available and does not call you back.
I will be reporting the company to the Property Ombudsman next week for their assistance.

They rented me a house at 26 Jefferson Walk ST16 1WF and I listened to construction noises for 1 year and they forced me to sign an additional contract for 1 year even though I told them before. They tried to rent me this house above market prices. When I left, they had no other choice so they rented it to others at a lower price. They are not honest and try to rip people off. Also, do not trust the zero deposit system, they work together and try to get money from you

The agent moved my personal belongings, including my bin, and didn’t return them to their original place. Even worse, a fitting near my front door was damaged during the viewing and nothing was said or done about it. No explanation, no apology, and no attempt to fix it. Very poor experience — completely lacking in respect and responsibility.

I honestly can’t believe anyone would choose to buy or rent through this company.

If I could leave no stars I would, Ali the branch manager is the least helpful person I've ever dealt with...someone attempted to break into my flat on Saturday night and she had absolutely no sense of urgency or care for us what's so ever, speaking over me on the phone, saying it's our fault and also thought that now would be a great time to mention my cat tree that she can see on the photo, of my smashed in window....Asif the cat tree is what matters right now
We pay these people ALOT of money and have zero support from them in times like this....absolutely foul

We have recently purchased a house in Whitby from Bridgfords estate agents and wanted to say thank you to Maddie and Zuzanna who have made the journey very pleasant. During the viewing process Zuzanna was very kind and informative and helped us make the right choice. Both Maddie and Zuzanna were always available to talk on the phone or would always return a message when not available. Whilst the legal process took longer than expected the girls at Bridgefords made every effort to smooth the process as best they could. So a big thank you and hope to see you again on our future visits to Whitby.

I recently rented an apartment at la salle Leeds, I needed to move in asap alia and the team made sure my checks and stuff came back within days of me visiting the office, I was literally in my new apartment within 2 weeks👌🏼I sadly found a new job which meant I had to move out of Leeds and come out of my tenancy earlier than I should of done, but as above alia made sure it was done quickly and professionally,, I would definatly use bridgfords again!
