Usual Monday morning in Grove
Unfortunately for those who visit Grove Wellbeing on a Monday morning, early am, it always seems to be a hangover from the weekend, no paper towels, empty spray bottles, TVs not working, fire escape doors with chairs over the push bars. ....this morning it was no drinking water as the water fountain was broke, and sadly nobody can think to provide a substitute of something like jugs of water and paper cups.
Tables which used to have rolls of paper towel and spray bottles have also been removed (maybe the manager doesn't know as they never seem to do any walks around the centre), with spray bottles left on ground to be kicked about.
It also (prior to GLL taking over) used to have a staff member on duty in the gym, but again, this is a luxury.
Sad to be writing this, but unfortunately, there isn't anyone to report these issues to, as you never see management within the centre, they may be there, but they are not seen or hands on!!
I think Hazel's reply sums up everything which is wrong with GLL, I will again say...it is a luxury to have a member of staff in the gym early am. Since GLL have taken over managing council leisure centres, standards have reduced as has staff being dedicated to certain areas of centres, yes swimming pools need cover, but surely so does a gym.
Your manager in Grove spent more time answering my last review by email, than what it would have taken to meet me face to face.
Oh and thanks for reminding me this is the 3rd review, even though i was under the impression establishments and organisations liked people reviewing. I will continue to write reviews when required, especially on such issues as health, safety and environmenta.
Unfortunately you can't add pictures or I could add the one of the chair used to secure fire escape doors while people were in gym.

We are disappointed to hear that you are still experiencing issues in centre.
We wanted to clarify that all of our centres are fully manned and to get issues like the ones you continue to raise resolved; the easiest way would be to report this to a member of the onsite team so they can look into this and action at the time.
If you can not see anyone, please report to reception and if there is not a member of the team available, there may be a bell you can press for assistance.
We appreciate your feedback and would encourage you to report this to our centre team directly so they can assist you.

Facilities are past it
Gym is out of date with old and rusty equipment. The heart monitors on the cross trainers don't work. Not even a pec dec machine. Trying to find a straight barbell not there. Was A lot better when the council ran it

Truly a Better place.
Joined for adult swimming lessons. My younger son is doing there, taking up swimming lessons for over a year now. Watching him swimming I also thought to give it a go. I have been enquiring about adult swimming trainer ever since my son started his lessons. This time fortunate enough to get one now. Started the lessons last week. Just 2 week old student. But my teacher "Sean" is really nice. Very friendly and always encouraging. Needless to say about other staff members they are absolutely brilliant. I truly enjoy the place. There is a library as well. Another area you can explore. Very friendly people and atmosphere. I recommend this place to all those who wants to do something else in their life other than the usual monotonous routines.

Daily barrier never open using a card gave me by customer services. Always I've to wait for someone from customer service who open it for me.

Atmosphere is good and staff are…
Atmosphere is good and staff are friendly, however they should really invest in better equipment. Half the time stuff is missing. The D-handles that’s are there aren’t even the same length.

Great swimming facilities and very fair price
I’ve been using Better pools for the last few weeks, approx every other day and each time I’ve visited I haven’t been disappointed.
Changing areas are clean, pool is well attended and pleasant and staff are very helpful. For £25 per month it’s a bargain!

I booked a lane there was no lanes up A…
I booked a lane there was no lanes up A lady got into my lane to swim and I only had 4 lengths to go.I asked the life guard why there wasn't a lane up and he said there wasn't a lot of people using lanes.He then asked the lady to move and apologised to her for me asking.Totally unnecessary and the embarrassment of both of us could have been avoided if he had of out the lane up.

Lane swimming is available for all our members who are able to swim, and we strive to configure the lanes to accommodate different speeds—slow, medium, and fast—based on the number of bookings each day.
I’m sorry to hear that another swimmer joined your lane during your session. Please know that our lifeguard noticed the situation and was more than happy to assist by guiding the other customer to a different lane so you could continue your swim uninterrupted. Your enjoyment and safety are our top priorities, and we’re here to make sure you have the best experience possible.

Hi I have been to the Grove swimming…
Hi I have been to the Grove swimming pool 3 times this week.The changing rooms smell of urine floors aren't clean.there was a dirty cotton wool ball and muck on the floor of one of the changing rooms.It has been there since Tuesday.Pool closed at 1pm on a Thursday for staff training surely this can be done at an off peak time between 10.30 and 12.Lunchtime suits me to fit in a swim. Staff are lovely and very friendly just need to step up the cleaning rota.
