I have placed a few orders with approved foods and it's always been great. I just love the range of random stuff you can get and I've discovered some great products that I would be reluctant to buy at full price. There are some real bargains sometimes, it's well worth a thorough browse.

The delivery is good too, usually quick and well packed.

But the cherry on top is that it's all stuff that won't end up in a landfill so it reduces waste to a certain extent.

ORDERING PROCESS & WEBSITE
Website was alright to use, easy to sign up to, good that you can edit some preferences and wish lists etc. Order history is very useful compared to some other sites.

ITEMS & PRICE
Items are okay, I was expecting some things to be past their best before date but 5 years seemed a bit extreme for some, considering the price. Many of the items could be bought elsewhere for a similar price and still be in date.

I was however looking forward to the 2021 £1.50 box, the Refreshers and Twirls made it worth the £1.50, but very disappointed in the quality and the sticky packets of crisps and the mass of tartar sauce sachets. Optimum drink had EXPIRED not even best before, a milk type drink posted without any refrigeration, curdled and lumpy.

POSTING & PACKAGING
£3 for up to 25kg is a very good price for shipping. Free if over £55 order.

I had a 3 boxes in one big box, weirdly the middle box had some sticky residue on it, which is odd as nothing in my box has leaked or on the outside. They all felt very thrown in the box. Also very confused as to why the 6 heavy glass bottles of non alcoholic rose was packing in the top of the box, it was crushing the boxes below.

Certainly not delivery with a smile, I opened the door and got greeted by a guy who said 'okay' and walked away.

CUSTOMER SERVICE
I haven't been in contact, I will take this as a lesson learnt, I've been wanting to order from here for years.
So I can't comment on their service.
But they really need to check their items. Best before is fine. Expired or past its use by, pretty sure legally, that's not okay as it isn't even deemed as safe.

Will be deleting my account.

The contents of my first purchase were good but the person delivering left the goods outside the apartment building, not bothering to call the intercom to alert us that the delivery had arrived. I was only alerted to
the fact that a delivery had been made by picking up the tracking information.

Ordered on 23/10.
Money taken from bank shortly after.
No updates.
Chased by contacting customer service on 29/10, asking for tracking number.
Response was "parcel lost in transit", with no tracking number given, so given credit back.
Immediately asked for refund to original payment method, as I would not want to spend with this company again, as how do I know they actually sent the parcel?!

Saved a bit of cash on the SIS sports gels/bars.
The 1p 2020 box went straight in the bin so I’ve effectively managed Approved Food’s waste management commitment. Don’t waste your pennies on the really old stuff as it’s simply inedible.

One of my products was substituted with another. I contacted customer services and they were quick to respond. The products were very well priced and delivery was quick. I have no hesitation in using this company again and have already recommended to my friends.

Whats the point in using this company any more?
Its like they have forgotten their purpose and think theyre a supermarket now, out of date food almost the same price as Tesco or in some cases more expensive!, 10p off most items that are probably stale is ridiculous.
Joke of company that used to be ok, food past its SELL BY DATE should be 50-80% off not 5-10%.
Lost a customer and anyone i know that used you has noticed too, clubcard prices are better than this terrible company.

I never usually have a problem but this time I did, the St Pierre French Brioche Buns had not kept well and had an odd vinegar like taste which was most unpleasant.
One tin of Princes Strawberries in light syrup was so badly dented thaf the contents had started to ooze out around the top thus rendering the contents inedible because air had got into the tin and they were mouldy.
An odd small dent on a tin is ok but when the tin has a large dent through the middle then it is obvious that the contents will be compromised then those tins should not be sold at all, the packers must realise this and use some commonsense - would they have a tin that is almost bent in half and oozing in their food cupboard?
Other than that everything else was fine.

Wonderful reasonably priced Assam teabags. Bought a couple of hundred. Yorkshire Tea eat your heart out these top posh quality teabags take the biscuit!!!

Good selection and excellent value

It seems the prime items to tempt you in are either removed before you check out or as it is being dispatched. No option to cancel the whole order as they cannot complete it and the difference given as a credit to your account rather than a refund. There is no point of reserving your basket if items then get removed.

The package was well packaged a lot of boxes it felt like a birthday everything was great and super value will use again

Great if you're a runner, cyclist and/or use the gym - plenty of high energy/protein gels, snacks, Soreen, shakes and hydration items at the moment. Love that it stops some of the food waste.

I've made 8 orders in the past month (gulp). All delivered quickly, very well packaged and no breakages. Standard delivery seems to take two days to dispatch and one day to arrive for me. I tried fast track delivery once and it arrived next day (ordered before 2pm). Really great for a small company.

I've had a couple of items that were out of stock after ordering, these were refunded to my Approved Foods account. I've had two orders with missing items, the first I didn't report as it was just two little Milky Way bars, the second time it was a larger item. I emailed after delivery on a Saturday (out of hours) and received a reply Monday morning with the options for it to be sent out or refunded. It was all sorted quickly, fantastic service - shout out to Beth!. I will definitely be ordering again.
