Airauto Rent-a-Car Arvostelua 

Je ne comprends pas certains avis négatifs. Accueil sympa. Pas d'ajout surprise de services payants ,voiture très propre et pratiquement neuve. Inspection minutieuse du véhicule. Idem pour retour .

Eind mei 2021 een auto gehuurd bij Airauto hetgeen we al zo vaak hadden gedaan omdat we een huis in de Algarve hebben. Na 2 weken de auto weer geretourneerd, loopt er een soort van oostblok dame om de auto heen, ziet ze kleine putjes / deukjes onder de carrosserie, nog onder de deurenpoorten. Dit waren geen krassen of iets dergelijks door steenslag of zo, alleen met strijklicht was het zichtbaar. Ik wist ook niet wat het was, noch hoe het ontstaan kon zijn maar niettemin moesten we de schade betalen voor reparatie / spuiten van de auto, ook nadat de manager erbij was gekomen. Of we geen foto's hadden genomen bij het ophalen van de auto ... nee dus want tot dusver nooit dit type problemen gehad. Daar sta je dan terwijl je vliegtuig ook zo vertrekt! Uiteindelijk 251,14 betaald voor de 'schade' (ze hadden daar een standaard bedrag voor??). Wij melden dat we hier nooit meer terugkomen ondanks dat we toch een goede klant zijn geweest, geen reaktie. Typisch geval van kortzichtige oplichterij! Jammer, het was ooit een eerlijk bedrijfje!

This was the 4th time that I had rented from Airauto. The meeting point is easy to find and I only had to wait 8 minutes for the minibus to arrive. (previously it has been there waiting for us) its a 5 minute bus ride to Airautos depot. As per the booking conditions Airautos hold 1500 euros for any damage via the credit card. Their agent inspected the car with me and notes any damage. The car was almost brand new (only done 2500 km) within 15 minutes of arriving we were off on our travels. Returning the car after 8.00 am ( the depot opens at 8 am and not before) was seamless, I look after the car as if my own so no marks on it and we were at the departures terminal in 20 minutes after arriving at the depot with 4 other cars. The 1500 euros deposit was removed from my card within 2 days. I will look forward to my next visit to the Algarve and will have no hesitation to hire again from Airautos. Aucun imprévu tout s'est déroulé comme decrit dans le contrat. Pas de vente forcée d'assurance comme chez certains loueurs. Je ne met que 4* pour la qualité du vehicule.. mais l'essentiel etait là

Through a Brooker I mistakenly book with AirAuto thinking it was the cheapest option in Faro airport. In reality they are more expensive than well known brands and much troublesome and with much worst ratings and customer experience. This because as soon as they lure you into booking with then a magic 35 euros out of hours fee pops up immediately in the contract raising the day cost by 100%!!!!!!! Do you AirAuto really think these days people won't talk about in review sites like trustpilot about this little scheme of yours and cancel right away as soon as they see these reviews and your hiden fees?

Après deux semaines d’usage nous rendons la voiture dans un état de propreté normal.
Ils nous ont facturé 25 € de nettoyage.
C’est une première, ils profitent du fait que vous n’avez plus le temps et surtout vous avez une caution.
A éviter à tout prix, il s’agit des escrocs qui optimisent le prix en fin de location.

Je vous fait part de mon expérience de location de voiture chez Air Auto Faro. J'ai attendu 2 mois pour être certain qu'aucun supplément n'a été prélevé sur mon compte bancaire.
Malgré les avis majoritairement négatifs et sur le conseil d'un ami, j'ai loué en juin un véhicule chez ce loueur.
Comme vous pouvez le constater , j'ai mis la note maximale car Air Auto a répondu à toutes mes attentes :
- Rapidité des procédures (check in /out)
- Prix ultra compétitif par rapport aux autres loueurs dans l'aéroport
- Navette efficace
- Gamme de véhicule supérieure
- Personnel compétent

J'avais loué via BSP mais la prochaine fois , je louerai directement avec eux car fiable.

¡Un desastre! Tardaron en recogernos para llegar a la oficina, no aceptaban nuestra tarjeta de crédito por el límite que tenía, nos cobraron más de lo acordado por no poder dejar el depósito máximo, nos cobraron 100 euros de depósito de gasolina sin previo aviso y encima nos dieron el coche con el tanque al 80%. Para más colmo, el personal que nos atendió era bastante borde y engreído. No repetiremos nunca.

Out of hours fees are a scam. Had to pay 35 euros for returning the car 10 mins before the place opened.
Will never use this service again.
Staff drivers are very nice though.

Even though it was sold as an AIRPORT RENTAL CAR, their office was a couple blocks away from the P4.

They were supposed to pick us up with their shuttle bus in a pickup spot next to the airport but when we arrived the shuttle wasn’t there and we waited outside without any shade at 33C for over 30minutes and they never appeared. We finally asked someone where their office was located and they instructed us to walk there (took 10min with 2 super heavy bags).

Upon arrival, they treated us ungraciously because we did not rent the car directly with them but rather through a broker called WISE CARS, and when they offered the car insurance and I said that I’ve already got one through wise cars they said they would need to hold 2000 euros from my credit card. They automatically debited the whole amount right then and when I returned the car they said it will take them 7 days to return the 2000 euros.

I am super disappointed.

I used this company to rent a car for 5 days in Portugal. I Didn't have any problems at all. I had paid 30 euros for returning the car out of hours. But I ended up using it an extra day. Air Auto charged me 15 for the extra day and then refunded me 15 of the 30 I had already paid. I had no issues getting the full deposit refunded.

Overall it was a great service and I found the staff to be very helpful. I am suprised by some of the reviews on here. I would definitely use this company again based off my experience.

Lors de la restitution de mon vehicule a l agence air auto car rental aeroport de Faro j ai assiste a une mise en scene certainement bien huilee qui depasse l entendement.En effet des mon arrivee l agent de reception s est ltteralement couche sous le devant de la voiture et a trouvé une eraflure de 2cm invisible de l exterieur .2 questions se posent.Existait elle avant ou tres habilement avec les cles le réceptionniste a t il volontairement rayé la voiture?Compte tenu de cet acte malveillant j ai demande l intervention de la police.J attends encore.Resultat 153 euros.Je pense que les prochains clients qui prendront cette voiture subiront la même arnaque.Je loue des voitures dans le monde entier et jamais je n ai du me coucher par terre lors dune location.Ce procede est indigne.J avais pris une assurance supplémentaire donc je serai remboursé mais cet acte malveillant volontaire est intolerable.Je crois savoir qu aujourd’hui avec l Europe des procédures judiciaires peuvent engagées et cet acte malveillant ne reste pas impuni c est une affaire de principe et non une histoire d argent.J ai d ailleurs le prenom du réceptionniste qui figure sur la facture.En un mot quand vous prenez une voiture prenez la la journee,n hesitez pas mentionner la moindre rayures de quelques millimètres et couchez vous par terre c est certes deplaisant mais cela vous evitera des ennuis financiers

returned the car 12 days ago, and still did not receive back the 600€ deposit.

The car was great -(brand new), staff have been fast, clear, picking up and dropping: no issue at all: I also returned the car in pristine conditions, even with much more fuel.

But then, we still wait to receive the deposit back :(

Few days ago I called them, and they say "it is your bank blocking, not us" (you can imagine).

I will keep you update with the date we will receive the deposit back.

Btw: fortunately we booked with a broker (sunnycars), so they are dealing with them and I don't have to spend $$, and anger, on international phone calls.

UPDATE (3 hrs later): I just received the deposit back. This after I asked help to my bank: I am now investigating if the delay was due to my bank as Airauto is stating (in which case I will for sure remove this review, or actually I should revert the vote)

UPDATE (6hrs later): this is what my bank says: "the 31 days is a standard procedure and this time frame is set from the merchant (Airauto, ndr) and not us. They have released the payment in time, but they still had the 31 days condition. In this case the users usually have to wait out the period or provide proof for the refund, as you have done (today, ndr)".

So, we, as customer should know:
* AirAuto can keep the money for 31 days
* To have your money back sooner you need a proof (from Airauto, or from the broker - sunnycars in my case) that you should have it back, and you need to show it to your bank.

So, my review will remain negative since, mainly, AirAuto knows much better then me how things runs, and know that for a bank, to bypass the 31 days condition needs some kind of proof from their customer (not just a phone call), so their customer care statement: "we released our money, if you did not receive it you must ask your bank since they have it" is misleading.

My suggestion to customers: when you return your car, ask them a written statement that the return is OK, and they they release the money.

My suggestion to Airauto: be more transparent in communication, give or send written statement to customers so they can claim their money earlier, but, most of all, change your 31 days policy to a much shorter time-interval.

It is true they did not charge me 3/4 euro for the highway cost referred to the last day: I was ready to pay, but they know the exact amount only 24hrs later: they said that they will charge it on my card, which they did not: it has been a way to close the issue faster: I do appreciate, thanks, and added a star now.

All agents were nice enough. We returned the car 3 days early due to covid and did not get any refund.

Very helpful and flexible. No issues at all.
Only minor issue was late arrival of car being delivered.

If I could put 0 stars I would. They’re service is hands down the worst I’ve ever used in Europe. They will charge your card for anything and everything with out telling you. I’m warning anyone who reads this not to use this company.

Tout simplement des escrocs avec comme mentionné sur de nombreux avis, la méthode de l'impact déjà ancien et on vous facture la franchise.
Les réparations ne sont bien entendues jamais effectuées et chaque client se fait ponctionner.
On rentabilise vite un véhicule en mauvais état avec 43000 kms au compteur.
Des personnels dont le pseudo responsable de mauvaise fois.
Bien triste pour un pays comme le Portugal avec des citoyens si serviables et aimables.
Ce genre de comportement dessert les commerçants honnêtes.

ATTENTION! € 615.00 ripped off! ATTENTION CRIMINALS! We had booked a car for 2 days and when we returned we were charged for 3 damages that were really almost invisible. An approx. 2 cm small scratch under the license plate and a scratch on the roof that had to be wiped free by the employee - almost as if the whole thing had been prepared as a tactic. There was a mini dent on the side. You really have to look for the small dent. That culminated in the bill we were given - !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! € 615.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... and that so shortly before our departure. There one discusses, but it is pointless. So, we can only warn - NEVER NEVER NEVER rent a car there, these are fraudulent methods!
There is damage there, whether caused by us or already there. It is about the disproportionate cost of these small damages. AirAuto makes it very easy for itself and always refers to their contracts and laws. The joys of duty. I will never accept that, communication by email makes no sense, they just repeat their contracts and so on. Pointless. I can only warn everyone about AirAuto.

Lors de la prise en compte du véhicule l'employé fait un tour très rapide de la voiture. Lors du séjour nous remarquons une bosse sur le capot qui n'est pas mentionnée sur la copie de l'état du véhicule qui est de très mauvaise qualité car il appuyait pas sur son stylo. A la restitution, l'employeur ne fait pas le tour du véhicule mais saute directement sur cette petite bosse sur le capot, rien d'autre n'est contrôlé. Aucun discussion possible car comme par hasard ce jour là il ne parle plus que le portuguais....Résultat on a dû payer 276 € pour une petite bosse qui va être laissé pour que d'autres touristes se fassent avoir. Réclamation déposée auprès de Easyjet qui nous a envoyé vers ce loueur qui est très critiqué sur les évaluations Google. Nous les avions lu avant de partir et voulions annuler mais on s'est dit que les gens abusaient des fois, ben résultat on s'est fait avoir comme d'autres avec toujours la même technique de la bosse sur la carrosserie....
