Airauto Rent-a-Car Arvostelua 

This Company does not even deserve 1 Star but it is the lowest I could give. When booked chose the option to include full insurance. When we arrived I was charged an extra 40 Euros as the flight was delayed 50 mins. I was then charged a further 1300 Euros deposit despite paying the extra for insurance. The car seat was an extra 40 Euros and I think you could have brought 2 for that price. The car seat was dreadful and no right minded person would choose a seat like this. It was a plastic bucket with no padding at all. The attitude of the staff at the desk was appalling, just loving ripping us off! The driver who took me back to the airport was good. If you book with this awful company expect to hand over at least double what you were quoted or prepaid.

Everything was fine until I was charged 40 euros for additional cleaning. The attitude of the staff made it feel like an absolute money making scam - and I’m even more convinced of it now reading the other reviews where people were charged a different amount for cleaning.
We are talking about a bit of sand - nigh on impossible to avoid on a beach holiday. I do not recommend this company at all and would encourage anyone to avoid them.

For the first time ever, having rented cars for over 35 years I was charged by Air Auto an additional cleaning fee of 30 Euros on returning the car. This was supposedly because there was some sand on the seat. Not a lot, and certainly no more than you would expect having rented a car on the Algarve, with beaches galore. Clearly this is just their way of extracting additional money from clients. Every hire car is cleaned between rentals and I have never been asked to pay for the cleaning. Avoid this company at all costs. If you do use them, don’t be fooled by a low initial price, they will do all they can to get extra from you.

Lors de la réception du véhicule, le loueur a vérifié très sommairement celui-ci et dans l'obscurité.
De plus quand nous voulions intervertir pour signaler un défaut celui ci n'y pretait pas attention.
Le fait qu'on soit arrivé après 20h nous a été facturé 40€.
Le plus grave c'est quand on a déposé la voiture celui ci a trouvé des dommages alors que ceux ci y étaient déjà certainement car nous n'avons pas eu de problèmes lors de l'utilisation.
Ils nous ont facturé 430€ pour un pare choc et une réparation de bas de caisse, alors que nous n'avions rien vu et lors de la réception il n'était pas possible de voir de tels dégâts.
Ils ne parlent pas français et n'essaient pas de faire des efforts pour que l'on comprenne. Il me semble que  tout cela est bien orchestré pour arnaquer les clients ! Plus jamais je ne louerai des voitures chez eux !

Keeps charging me after i enden my rental.

Van 24 juni tot 9 juli 2022 bij Air Auto een auto gehuurd. Pas na boeking de slechte reviews gelezen, niet zo slim. Maar een uitermate vriendelijke ontvangst. Alle benodigde formulieren keurig ingevuld en de Fiat Panda op deuken en krassen gecontroleerd waar de medewerker keurig aantekeningen van maakte. Met een volle tank terug op de locatie van Air Auto en de auto gecontroleerd door een medewerker met de voormelde deukenlijst in zijn hand. We hadden geen schade of deuken veroorzaakt dus geen enkel probleem gehad !
Alles verliep professioneel en zonder gedoe !

I never write a negative review but I wouldn’t want anyone else to be subjected to the shoddy service of Airauto from Faro airport. do not book with this company especially in the current climate with delays at passport control at Faro.

They leave you stranded early hours in the morning, even when you request a late collection and have confirmation of this service. The Company was shocking to deal with the following morning. Greedy, unreliable, my advice from someone who has hired cars for over 28 years at Faro pay the extra and go with one of the bigger companies, All the other hire companies had checked on the flight arrivals and the situation with passport control at Faro. Other car hire companies waited for their clients to hand the cars over, unlike Airauto!
Other competitors companies provided an out of hours phone numbers for clients to contact after 8pm ( unlike Airauto- no number after 8pm)
they didn’t bother to check what was happening in the airport they just closed up and went home to bed. Turned out a very stressful & expensive car hire in the end…
Avoid….

Reading the reviews here was a bit afraid in returning the car since we unfortunately caused damage to the car. We rented the car from Airauto via Sunnycars.
All went well, we were treated all good and the damage we caused handled all according to the rental agreements. We did also rent a Garmin, the maps were outdated so don't recommend to do that, google maps really is much better and fantastic.

Je suis très mécontente de ce loueur.Le véhicule roulait correctement,certes, mais avait déjà plein d’impacts et de coups sur la carrosserie, qui n’avaient jamais été réparés.Lors du retour, alors que nous n’avions eu aucun dégât et que tout nous semblait ok, après avoir fait le tour , l’employé nous a demandé d’attendre et est allé chercher son patron.il nous a montré un éclat de peinture de la taille d’une pièce de 2 € à l’avant ,au niveau du pare-chocs et nous en a imputé la responsabilité, nous disant que « comme nous avions une carte gold cela ne nous coûterait rien! » Nous aurions eu une carte de crédit ordinaire,je suis sure que rien de cela ne se serait passé.Quand le temps presse car on a un avion à prendre, on ne peut se lancer dans des discussions….méfiance donc, ce loueur est à éviter.

Car rental from April 27 to May 4 at Sunnycars. Paid €1300 deposit by credit card. The money is still not back!!!!! This is a damn shame. This is no small amount.

Grosse grosse arnaque a fuir !! Bloque la voiture pour que vous tombez en panne et vous envoie des facture de 1000€ ! Une fois sur place vous fais payer des taxes et des suppléments qui n'était pas prévu ! Attention à éviter a tout prix !!! Ils sont désagréable et agressifs !

I do not have any option to give 0* the initial rental seems cheap however dont be fooled ! €80 in out of hours fees is scandalous. That is completely unreasonable and no other rental company i have used charged anything near to that. It was nearly the price of the total rental Also had to pay a daily fee for the rental of the transponder for driving on the motorways. We arrived to hand the car back 15 minutes early and the staff member shut the gate on us stating he wasnt open until 4 however the time of drop off was decided by us. Awful company

AVOID ! Really bad customer service and they will rip you off. I returned the car and they pointed at a tiny scratch on the wheel that was hardly visible and they accused me of causing the damage and they charged me $270. I told their manager that the scratch wasn't caused by me but they wouldn't believe me. I wouldn't trust this company at all and it almost appeared like they have some type of scam going on. As I read all other reviews here I can see that I'm not the only one they have ripped off, they have scammed many other customers the same way. Avoid at all costs.

Avoid at all costs. When we arrived we were kept waiting outside the office, which incidently is off airport. Firstly double charged for additional driver (£40) in spite of having included this in pre-booking. I noticed that my credit card had been overcharged and was told it was a "back office problem" and would be sorted out when I returned the car. The car was a fairly new Ford Puma (even though I booked a Ford Focus). It was the cheapest model ever with only a 1.0 litre engine and even had limited adjustment of the passenger seat but was one of their "premium" cars that I had to leave a credit card excess of 2500 Euros. I put up with this just thinking that I probably would never buy a Ford car. However, the problem came when we got a puncture in a tyre. We took the car back and to give them some credit they changed the car immediately but only on insisting that I pay over £300 for the tyre. A tyre that would cost less than a third of that amount. I had no choice but to pay but again bought to their attention that I had been overcharged £40 earlier. When I finally returned the car I was refunded but it was not easy. My advice to avoid.

I brought back the car and the guy found three minimal dots on the windscreen, each about 1mm. He charged me 886 euros for replacing the windscreen, while a repair by for example carglass would cost only 135 euro. Total rip off!

Attention probable arnaque lors de la restitution du véhicule avec supplément de plus 880€.
Location d’une voiture pendant une semaine.
Nous avons réceptionné la voiture de nuit, la personne qui s’est occupée de nous a rapidement fait le tour de celle ci j’ai donc vérifié attentivement avec elle et je lui ai d’ailleurs fait remarquer quelques défauts qu’elle n’avait « pas vu ». Tout s’est merveilleusement bien passé durant l’utilisation du véhicule, absolument aucuns problèmes. Mais lors de la restitution nous avons eu la même personne de chez Airauto. Celle ci a vérifié le niveau du carburant et le kilométrage puis s’est directement dirigé vers le pare-brise sans faire le tour du véhicule et nous fait constater un minuscule impact au niveau des essuie glace. Impossible à voir lors de la réception du véhicule ni lors de l’utilisation. Nous n’avons eu absolument aucuns impacts durant le l’utilisation du véhicule. Rien a faire nous devons régler un surplus de plus de 880€.
Je déconseille ce loueur.

Un loueur indigne !

Nous avons eu un véhicule au bout de 100 mètres le le cash du levier de vitesse se baladait autour du levier! Nous avons fait demi tour et restituer non sans mal ce véhicule. Le loueur Air Auto arguait que cela était une défaut de fabrication Fiat connu et qu’il ne pouvait pas changer de véhicule. Nous avons réussi à prendre un autre véhicule après un long échange !
Le ponpon c'est lors de la restitution du véhicule prévue avant 8h du matin à l’agence Air Auto, nous nous sommes présentés à 7h30 pour laisser ce véhicule à l’agence notre heure d’embarcation du vol pour Paris était à 8h15.
Une personne agressive d’Air Auto nous indique qu’il ouvre la grille du parking Air Auto si on lui laisse 45 euros ! Nous avons dit que notre heure de restitution est à 8h et que l’embarquement vers 8h15, et que nous laissons le véhicule à la grille s’il n’ouvrait pas. Ils n’ont rien voulu entendre, ils étaient quatre personnes à ne rien faire derrière la grille et à attendre bêtement 8h pour l’ouverture !
Je n’ai jamais vu un loueur pareil, pitoyable, je suis portugais et je n’ai pas eu de souci à me faire entendre.

I've only given one star because there is no option to give none. I was stung by this company in the past when the needle on the fuel gauge didn't move when I filled the tank. When I took the car back and showed them the receipt they said not to worry, and I foolishly believed them. I later received a 69 Euro charge on my credit card. I arrived in Portugal last week to discover I had mistakenly booked them again, I thought I'd booked Autorent, I went ahead with the rental. I was charged 18.95 to use the motorway, which is normal, however, that turned out to be for the use of the transponder and I was charged a further 24.95 when I returned the car. Obviously, I was furious until the unpleasant attendant announced that there was damage to the bumper, that had happened whilst I was parking, when he showed me I had to move my face about six inches to the bumper to see the two 5 millimeter black marks that would have come off with Brasso, or the very least T Cut. Needless to say, I'm beyond furious, I was charged 169.95 for something that will cost cents and take seconds to fix. The whole thing cost twice as much as it would have if I'd gone with my usual rental company, Travelrent.
I've been looking to rent for my next visit and I'm very pleased to say that the reputable search companies have dropped Air Auto, which speaks volumes

Nous avons réservé 2 voitures que nous avons utilisé les 2 et 3 octobre 2021 .Les voitures nous ont été livrées le1er octobre vers 16h car ça arrangeait Airauto . 3 semaines après notre retour nous avons reçu une facture pour les frais de péage autoroutier . Normal de payer ce qui est dû mais ils nous ont envoyé 2 factures différentes alors que mon copain a fait la même route que moi . Ensuite ils nous ont compté des frais d'administration dont nous n'avons jamais entendu parlé . Facile de se servir puisqu'ils avaient nos coordonnées bancaires .
Nous avions été averti par des touristes habitués qui eux aussi on fait les frais de la malhonnêteté des loueurs de voiture .Donc futurs clients si vous allez en Algarve ,redoublez de vigilance ! Nous étions 8 amis Normands basés à l'hotel Alvor Baïa .
