I've tried a number of booking plugins and I kept putting off Amelia because it looked “too much”, but I was wrong.

Yes, set up isn't quite "plug and play" - but that's because the plugin offers such robust features. Even with all of that, you do not need to be a technical person to set it up - you just need to read the steps and have a bit of time and patience. The documentation is clear, the interface makes sense, and the support team has been fantastic.

My client has found the front-end system for employees super simple and, amazingly, I am yet to get a single "but how do I do this" question. It is well worth paying for.

I used Amelia's platinum product to hardcode a unique booking engine for our fly fishing club. When this recently was hit by an API renewal, Amelia stepped in to ensure it was fixed quickly. We appreciate the human effort behind this versatile booking app.

Amelia says it has certain features that simply do not exist, and rather than update the software with new features their paying customers request, they have spent the last year making a whole new UI for the same product, so now where you could do things with relative ease, you have to click through four or 5 options and screens, just to get to the thing you want to change, where as the old version did all of this a lot more smoothly and in one click.

Recently I am seeing that as my customers grow, this software is not really fit for them, some examples

Customers like to book at unsocialble times, sending out emails and SMS's to employees past midnight for appointments, being a system built specifically to streamline bookings, you would think you could stop it processing bookings between two set times - this is impossible in Amelia, and they say I should use a third party solution to achieve it

In their materials, they allude to group SMS messages and group notifications being a thing - this is not possible without a third party workaround, at this point if I'm using so many third party work arounds to get Amelia to do what it says it can do, then what is the point of the actual software?

You can not customize Amelia through DIVI or DIVI5, Amelia ignores all settings. You can not control the size of Amelia's windows, it just ignores

You cant change text size for mobiles, you cant change text size at all

You can send notifications to one additional number, but cant control what notifications you want the additional numbers to get, it is all of them, or none of them

So if I wanted two employees to receive an appointment SMS, I have to include them as extra numbers, but this means they get copies of every message (Be it customer, or employee) so wanting one additional employee to receive one specific message and not the others, is impossible given the current setup

Their support team seems to be luck of the draw, some are amazing and will go out of their way to help you, others can be extremely dismissive and go into defensive mode, not actually solving anything

I honeslty wish I had never put my customers on Amelia. Will be migrating out by the end of the year and certainly will not be renewing anything with them. They prioritise a pretty modern UI over actually offering new features and improving what they already have

Such a shame, this could truly be the best booking sotware for wordpress, if Amelia actually listened to their paying customers and implummented features they are repeatedly asked for

Do not believe the positive reviews!

The setup of this plugin is highly convoluted, front-end is extremely locked, employee access convoluted and not mobile friendly, and support is NON EXISTENT (we have been waiting 2 days for a response to a critical issue).

Stay away from this plugin until this review is updated.

Worst support I've ever experienced with a booking software system. Very long lag time in terms of getting back to you, support given is not practical, i.e. they suggest you write the issue in an email. No live support at all. Do not recommend this product.

⭐ 1/5 - Catastrophic service for a plugin sold as professional
I am a beauty salon owner with 3 employees and I pay for the Pro license. Here is what I experienced:
❌ SMS reminders have not been working properly since installation - customers miss their appointments because they never receive reminders
❌ Support takes a minimum of 24 hours to respond, is unreachable by phone or live chat, and when they do respond they blame the cron job or DNC restrictions instead of fixing the problem
❌ Their own advice to create a custom notification “24 hours before” sent WRONG SMS to today’s customers telling them their appointment was TOMORROW - I almost lost customers because of this
❌ I had to hire my webmaster at my own expense to verify the server configuration - the problem was still on Amelia’s side
❌ I spend my evenings manually sending SMS to my customers because the automatic system does not work
A booking plugin that doesn’t remind customers is completely useless. I deeply regret switching from my previous system to Amelia. Run away if you are a salon with multiple employees.

Already regretting purchasing a PRO license. The support you get is basically AI and when a human responds, it takes more than 24 hours to get a response. They just give you the standard link to the help pages, which is not actual support. And this is happening at the most critical stage: new customer onboarding. I am seriously considering a refund. If you are considering Amelia, DO NOT BUY A LIFETIME LICENSE to begin with. Way too risky.

Amelia looks great on the surface but the deeper you integrate it, the more cracks show. The webhook system is unreliable. Webhooks for WooCommerce paid bookings simply don't fire consistently, which breaks any automation pipeline you try to build around it. Notifications have their own separate issues, often not triggering as expected depending on how the booking flow is configured. For a booking plugin at this price point, these are not minor bugs, they're core functionality failures. If you're running a simple calendar with no automation, it's fine. But if you're trying to connect it to n8n, Zapier, or any external workflow, be prepared to spend a lot of time troubleshooting things that should just work. I ended up having to route around Amelia entirely and use WooCommerce native webhooks just to get reliable triggers. Support is responsive but the fixes rarely come fast enough. Not recommended for anyone building serious automation on top of it.

Customer service lacks effort to help isolate bugs caused by new updates.

The new update is so bad...... Days Off for emplyoees doesn't actually mark them off your calendar allowing clients to still book with them. And using Amelia via phone is nearly impossible now as it doesn't let you input certain data due to the screen not being big enough... its ridiculous

Le plugin Amelia est très complet et répond techniquement à mes besoins de réservation. Son interface est intuitive et les fonctionnalités sont nombreuses.

Cependant, je suis confronté à un problème majeur : depuis plus d'un mois, je n'ai plus accès à l'interface d'administration d'Amelia dans WordPress (page blanche, erreur JavaScript). Résultat : impossible de modifier mes réglages, d'activer de nouvelles fonctionnalités ou de configurer correctement les connexions sociales.

Je possède une licence professionnelle. J'ai contacté le support officiel via le portail client store.tms-plugins.com avec toutes les informations nécessaires (numéro de licence, identifiants, description détaillée du problème). Aucune réponse depuis plusieurs semaines.

Le problème est d'autant plus frustrant que le frontend du site fonctionne parfaitement, ce qui prouve que le cœur du plugin est solide. Mais sans accès à l'admin, je suis bloqué.

Pour le prix, on est en droit d'attendre un support réactif, surtout quand le plugin ne fonctionne plus correctement. Dommage car le produit a du potentiel.

I recommend, they have improved a lot in the last year as well the support is very good!

I really like the interface — you can see a tremendous amount of effort has gone into the design and overall functionality. Like most complex software, there will always be the occasional bug, but their support is genuinely very good. It’s not always an instant reply, but they take the time to understand the issue, help properly, and explain clearly when something isn’t on the product roadmap. The fact that users have such a big wish list says a lot about how popular and capable the plugin is. In my view, it can only keep getting better.

The initial setup took a bit of time due to the many customization options, but it was well worth the effort for the final result.

I have built website for travel agency and I've tried several plugins but Amelia was number one. You can do anything you want with it. Everything is translatable, there are a lot of integrations available and it is fully mobile optimized.

But, most important thing about Amelia is support. They respond very quickly and offer great support.

Running a digital marketing agency here in Spain means I am constantly testing new tools to streamline workflows for the businesses I work with. Amelia has completely won me over and is now my default choice. I’ve integrated it into several service and directory websites, and the frontend experience is incredibly polished and modern right out of the box.

My clients absolutely love how it automates their scheduling, syncs natively with Google Calendar, and handles client reminders without them having to lift a finger. What stands out most is the rock-solid stability. Once I set it up, configure the workflows, and hand the site over, I never get frantic support calls about broken booking pages. It just quietly and efficiently does its job in the background. If you want a professional, set-it-and-forget-it booking system that makes you look great in front of your customers, this is absolutely the best option out there.

WP Amelia is clunky software that lacks incredibly important features that competing products have. Every service is treated separately, even if it's designed to be consecutively booked behind another service (e.g. there's no stacking). When you add people to a service, it counts each new person as a full charge, instead of letting you pick an upcharge amount per person. Also, the overlap between employee hours and services needs to be perfect, otherwise you have to spend time figuring out why the calendar won't show prices or availability. The fixed max width of the UI is lame. Sucks to find all of this out after I've passed the threshold for getting a refund.

No customer service. has glitches

Major issue after Dec. '25 Update....

Booking wasn't working periodically, the backend management of bookings got messed up, and still not sure if its resolved but notifications for booking were not being sent... Still not sending all of the notifications.

The support staff must be very stressed because they seemed to be rude and provided no information, days after our website manager sent login credentials and asked for an update.

Amelia has a great price point, but their customer service and update testing needs to be improved.
