Very slow support and lack of communication

I start a domain transfer 3 days ago
I couldn't enter my transfer codes myself because my TLD isn't supported. I had to contact support, but it's been a nightmare between the lack of communication and the slow response times.
It's still "In progress"

Update: After posting this review, someone else from the support team, Nadine, picked up the case and did everything she could to get things unblocked. Both domains have now been successfully transferred. I appreciate her follow-through in getting this resolved.

Update 2026/09/15:
They use a subcontractor (Key-Systems GmbH) to manage certain TLDs that they offer, which prevents me from being able to manage and view my contact data.

I'm forced to go through their support to make changes, and my ticket has been sitting for 4 days without any update.

They finally made the change. It's a shame that I had to write a negative review to get things moving.

I was soooooo unhappy when I got on this support call - the process before was frustrating - I didn't feel like the first stage of support ticket had bothered to read what the issue was. WHC offers highly competitive pricing, fast servers and a very reliable hosting service. I have generally had no issues, and when I recently faced a problem, the support was amazing. Elyes was patient, professional and took the time to investigate everything carefully. Excellent service and highly recommended.

Always awesome. I love this company. Service can be a little slower now that the world is falling apart, but compared to other companies I have to deal with in the hosting world, these folks are the best. And the site speeds are high.

I have been hosting with WHC for years now and they are the best. I have tried many hosting companies over the years but nothing has compared to them. I am a customer for life!

The customer service team is absolutely the best.

Customer experience is not the clearest, and support is very slow. The way support emails work is also confusing, like I get an email that says I got a response, and it ends up being a request to evaluate support that did not even happen yet :D

I'm was on a shared hosting plan and initially everything was great, while in several weeks my website became either extremely slow or non working at all. Support was responsive, while whatever they fixed lasted for a day or two and then whole thing repeated again. After several cycles of such troubles I decided to move away

It is becoming rare to find a company that will take the time to help you work through a problem. Not only did WHC do this but with real people the whole time. I am not a big company or even a small company, just a hobbies, but that didn't matter. All of my questions were answered quickly and correctly. Add to this Canadian based servers and it is a service that is hard to beat!

VanRamblings would like to thank every WHC rep with whom we have interacted over the past week: Haivey, Achres, Zied, Nada, Ahmed, Maeva, Elyes, Nadia, Dan, Miller, Abir, Matthew, Ziad, Diya, Nesrine, Ren, and every member of the Web Hosting Canada team who dedicated themselves to getting VanRamblings back on the ‘Net, configured VanRamblings’ WordPress, and enabled both account e-mail addresses so they forward to my primary home e-mail account.

I first went looking for a Canadian supplier for business email addresses, and that's what brought me to WHC. The support experience was strong enough that as other needs came up, I kept expanding what I used them for: domain name registration and transfers, then full web hosting migrations when I needed to move off two other providers entirely.

Since then, I've moved eight of my own and my clients' domains onto WHC hosting, purchased business email packages for four of them, and helped three additional outside clients migrate their accounts over. That's a dozen domains and multiple email setups all handled through WHC support without a single migration falling apart.

What I liked:

- Genuinely Canadian since data residency and support based here mattered to me
- Support team was responsive and solved problems, not just scripted replies
- Their toolset (DNS management, cPanel, FTP access) is straightforward enough to work with directly
- Confident enough in the experience that I've now recommended and migrated other clients' accounts over

What could be better:

- Some of the more advanced DNS/zone changes took a bit of back-and-forth to fully sync, though support stuck with it until resolved

Overall: If you're looking for a Canadian host or email provider that won't leave you stranded mid-migration, WHC has earned my repeat business and my referrals.

I have been a corporate client for many years since WHC incorporated Sibername into their company. The transition was seamless and all of the web page changes and server assignments were well handled.
