We have been a verified Web Hosting Canada client since March 2025, managing dozens of active domains as a reseller. On August 12, 2026, WHC triggered an automated re-verification prompt on our account. What followed was one of the worst support experiences we have had with any registrar.

1. Sudden lockout, no explanation
Our entire Client Area was locked without warning. All domains under the account, including our clients' live business websites, went inaccessible instantly.

2. Contradictory reasons from different agents
On August 14, agent Arslen told us our account was being terminated for a Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy violation, calling it final and non-negotiable, with zero details on what we supposedly violated.
On August 18, a different agent, Nadine (Customer Care Team Lead), gave a completely different reason: identity verification failure under ICANN requirements. Also called final. Also no details.
Two contradictory official explanations for the same lockout is not compliance, it's a company that doesn't know or won't say why it locked out a paying customer.

3. Documents submitted, ignored for 5+ days
On August 14 we opened Ticket #2013493 to their compliance team, attaching passport, national ID (front and back), and live verification photos. Five days later: silence. No confirmation the documents were even received or viewable.

4. Live chat as a stalling tactic
We opened three separate live chat sessions across five days (Tickets #32823979, #32752266, #32871690). Every single one followed the same pattern: bot response, queue wait, an agent says "reviewing now," then the ticket goes cold or gets closed with no resolution. New agents kept appearing (Arslen, Amina, Nadine, Maeva, Hadil, Ovidiu) each restarting the same conversation from zero.

5. Told to stop "spamming" for asking for our own EPP codes
When we asked, calmly and directly, whether our submitted documents were viewable, and requested our Auth-Info/EPP transfer codes as an alternative to reinstatement, agent Ovidiu's response was: "Please stop spamming our support channels. Our decision was already explained in prior communications." That was the entire response. No EPP codes. No explanation. Then silence again.

6. Refusal to release EPP codes
Under ICANN's Transfer Policy Section 5, a registrar must provide Auth-Info codes within 5 calendar days of a request. We requested ours on August 14. As of August 19, still nothing, not even acknowledgment.

Where this stands now..
We have filed a formal complaint with ICANN Compliance over the withheld EPP codes, and we are pursuing further regulatory escalation. Meanwhile our clients' domains remain dark because of a decision WHC has never actually explained to us.

If you are a domain reseller or run client sites on WHC, understand that this is what happens the moment their automated system flags your account: instant lockout, contradictory justifications, ignored documentation, and agents telling you to stop asking about your own domains. Five days, three tickets, six different agents, zero resolution.

Ilef saved the day. The DNS synchronisation had failed after implementing cloudflare and so my site was down for a couple days. As soon as I was able to talk to a human, the issue was solved! Terrific customer service and a SOLUTION!
