Awful just awful, avoid. Expensive and useless.

Booked in and turned up and they did not have the tyres i `requested when I called in a week earlier to arrange this. Turned up for second time and tyres were fitted but could not do wheel alignment because the machine broken so could not do this. Charged extra for removing a wheel nut which was said to be broken so and i just paid up. This may well have been genuine but because of they did not seen to care about wasting my time you do not know if they are being straight and I feel unable to trust them. Is this an industry-wide problem or is it just me? I can't understand why these places, who ask for. your phone number, don't bother ringing you if they can't do the job so you waste your time. They don't seem to care.

Tyrespot gone down hill. Been going there for years they were always friendly nothing was too much trouble since been sold it's gone down hill. Twice I've asked for a estimate twice they weren't bothered looks like they are only interested in tyre sales, could it be they were brought by a tyre wholesaler. It's no longer family owned..

Have used Tyrespot for about 15 yrs or more. Always found good service and reasonable cost. I had a puncture repair done a few days ago at their Durham branch

The cost was £34.99 I did write a complaint and it was explained that since Pro Tyres took over they had put prices up. £30 plus £4.99 environmental charge which was explained to cover PPE a pair of disposable gloves, a seat cover and a mat to keep my car clean. They apologised for not explaining the cost prior to the repair.

I look after 5 family cars and will never be going to Tyrespot / Pro Tyres ever again 5 good customers lost in one swoop.

The old tyrespot staff still gave a good service

Left me with a dangerous car veering to the left and right got my money back but now need to find a garage that can actually align the wheels correctly gave me a printout on my second visit showing left front wheel in the red wasted my time and fuel money car not safe to drive now AVOID these clowns Houghton branch

2 years ago, I dropped my spare off for the tyre to be replaced as I was sick of the major waiting time at Tyrespot Gosforth. Told it would be ready the next day. Went 3 days later to pick it up, wheel not even touched, still sat in the corridor where they took it off me and placed it.
Same issue last week, dropped off spare wheel, told it would be ready for pick up on Friday. Friday came and went. Rang on Monday, phone just rang and rang until I was cut off. Drove down only to find exactly the same issue, wheel sat untouched exactly where it had been left.
Saved £20 (same tyre make fitted) going elsewhere.
I dont know if other Tyrespots are the same, but I would avoid the Gosforth Branch on Sandy Lane like the plague.

Attitude on the people who working in head office are horrible people. They have no time for you just want you off phone. Not nice customer service.

Took my Motorhome to Tyrespot Gosforth for a service after 15 minutes got a phone call saying the oil filter from their suppliers was not the right one and they didn’t know which filter should be fitted ( possibly a dealers special) also they couldn’t find where to put the oil in the engine, so couldn’t do the job, when I got home I found the oil filler in less than a minute.
Took it to another garage, filters where standard Fiat Ducato and they had no issue doing the job.
I think Tyre spot didn’t want to do the job because access to the engine is a bit awkward, they wasted my time.

Been here a few times now for different things and yes there are things that could be better but overall I had a good experience tyres were fitted professionally and quickly too
Guys behind the counter are courteous and it’s at a location that’s convenient for me. I know they charge more hence why I get mine from online dealer but you can’t have everything

Took my van for wheel alignment to tyre spot Darlington. Whoever did havent done it wright so I got back saying its pulling to the left. He redone it but still same! Instead of doing his job properly ive got loads of nasty advises about my van. Never again! Avoid!

The worst customer service that I have ever encountered

Absolutely appalling customer service at the Washington branch. Customers walking out because of the abrupt manner they were spoken to.

Visited DURHAM TYRE SPOT,today for a price for full brake set,on a 2021 ford focus, saved over 60% of what other prices I had been given. Told he could do it straight away, and fitted after only a short time. Excellent service and fantastic price. Well pleased, and would highly recommend.

Used TyreSpot at Houghton in Sunderland for the second time and as usual friendly manager and staff tyre fitters did a great job , they really do the job and you know everything is gonna be perfect, recommend this place to everyone for their tyre needs

I always have an excellent experience at Tyre Spot Houghton-le-Spring. They are helpful and honest - they have picked up on inaccurate information provided by other garages and saved me a lot of money. Had my most recent MOT and service done there, plus 2 new tyres and more than happy with the service.

Saturday pm called Tyre Spot Darlington as I needed 2 new tyres, tyres were in stock, drove over and had them fitted immediately, all within a 60 minute window from initial call.
Call out to Craig who gave me a great competitive price and to Gavin who fitted the tyres in rapid time, brilliant service, well done guys.

Useless and incompetent. Paid over £500 for four new tyres for my mustang, took the day off work to get them fitted only to have them tell me when I got there they don’t have the right car jack. A tyre shop, with no car jack? Literally had one job and failed. Told me they can order one in but would take weeks. I’ve had my tyres changed many times and never had this issue. The car doesn’t come with a specialised jack. Would not trust them at all.

I’ve been a customer for many years and have generally been happy with the service. The staff have always been professional, and I’ve rarely had any issues with the work carried out.

However, as the company has grown, the pricing has increased significantly. A recent example: a tyre quoted at £229 at Tyrespot was available for £169–£171 at several other local businesses. That’s a £58 difference per tyre, which becomes a substantial cost when replacing multiple tyres.

From what I understand, Tyrespot’s management company also owns distribution for certain tyre brands, which likely means an additional margin is being made on top of the retail price. Meanwhile, with the current condition of the roads—potholes, poor maintenance, and lack of sweeping—tyres simply don’t last as long as they used to, regardless of whether they’re budget, mid‑range, or premium.

I recently needed four tyres and couldn’t justify the extra cost. By going elsewhere, I saved over £200—effectively the equivalent of buying three tyres and getting one free compared to Tyrespot’s pricing.

If it’s not urgent, I’d recommend checking local family‑run businesses. They’re often cheaper, and because I was buying four tyres, I received a discount—something Tyrespot used to offer but no longer seems to.

Tyrespot still provides good service, but the pricing gap has become too large to ignore

Hence I now go elsewhere for tyres.

I popped in on a Monday morning to ask for 2 new front tyres as id recently had a puncture. They found the tyres i wanted. I agreed a time to go back and 2 lads were straight on the job and within half an hour I was done and back on the road. No complaint or issues at all and the apprentice, youngest one working there was spot on too really polite and went out of his way to help tha ks again Mr B
