Went to a competition for school in February of 2023, was given a gift card for over $50 for food - did not work at all and the balance was listed as 0. Went to customer service to resolve this issue and was told “they were working on the issue”. So I ended up throwing away the card as it was little more than trash after a couple months of “resolving the issue”.

Almost a year later in January of 2024 as the competition organizers let us know they have resolved the issue and Trucash would give us a replacement card if it wasn’t working. The customer service agent said they cannot replace the card without the digits on the card and there was no name associated with the card other than my organizations, so they cannot give me a new one. Also that sending a replacement card costs $10 to be deducted from the balance of the card. Sounds like they’re running a scam here, highly discourage any person or organization that is going to use this service, stay clear!

Update!!!! I just received my gift card!!!!

After many multiple attempts to resolve my issue, I am leaving this review for individuals to proceed with caution when dealing with resorts who provide gift cards and/or "free" trips for attending a presentation. Not only did I end up purchasing the resort package thereafter, I am still without what was promise. Last November' 23 I attended a seminar in Florida and received a gift card and trip as part of the presentation. The presentation was great which is why we purchased the program. However, upon using my "gift card" the balance was zero in which was supposed to be $100. I have been calling both the gift card customer service since November trying to resolve my issue. To no avail no one has yet to provide me a resolution in receiving the $100 gift card as promised. I did my due diligence in contacting the appropriating personnel and nothing is still not resolved. I have been very patient with those on the customer service end but this is very unbelievable. Typically, I do not leave reviews but this experience is not right for the average consumer who genuinely want what they were promised. At this point, I will count the $100 as a lost but its very unfortunate needless to say.

False advertisement that card can be used at all locations. The full balance is held hostage when used at food vendors due to a 20% pre-authortization upon the transaction.

Scam. I have 2 cards. Called in and each have >$70 balance and both are being declined everywhere. Call center keeps hanging up on me and menu options change each time you call. This is a scam company

Unbelievable ! They took $50.00 of my $250.00 refund after declining my attempts to use this bogus card - citing service charges I was NEVER told about!!! Called them and was told manager not available for a week ?
So unprofessional and even fraudulent in my opinion !!! Don't do any business with this company......
As for your reply ...you're lieing! I did call on August 20th, 2023 and was THEN informed the manager was not reachable for a week. I have 3 people who witnessed the call...I was on speakerphone. You people are scandalous!!!!!!!

Many calls. Card will not let me draw out last 20 bucks. It is a debit card that was issued by travel company for refund of deposit. What a scam

I received six $25 cards from a resort company. I paid $150 in advance for the trip which was supposed to be returned after I finished a presentation. They gave it back to me in $25 cards which I called to activate (it took days to get someone on the phone) only to have the cards denied EVERYWHERE. In essence, I did not get my money back because these things are unusable and the place I stayed in was trash. They scammed me out of $150---that's the truth.

Multi declines even after checking the balance. Interesting to read other comments. It appears to allow spot purchases and then it stops working.
Decline twice this week, then checked the balance lots of money then tried again at Tim Hortons for a whole $4.10 DECLINED.
Not sure but why should a company get away with this type of performance.

Finally got the card activated used it and then the next day it didnt work and when i called they told i had to activate the card every day to orotect the halance what kind of sense does that make why should i keep having to activate the card everyday to protect a balancenof prepaid card. I really wish i could just take. All the money off at an atm and be done with this card

The card is constantly declined, when I reach out to the chat program for help they just make me feel like an idiot because the card doesn’t work. First they say that it freezes whenever the card is declined so I have to check the balance to reset, then I’m told that they are switching systems and to just try it again. Scammers.

I received $50 gift card from Resort Vacation and I was able to use 25$ and I still have a balance of 25 but it declines everywhere I tried using it for 14.00 , 22.00 and it declines it’s so frustrating. I wanna use my money! Or at least transfer it to my account

I've called customer service 17 times... ive been calling for months. I can not use this card. They LIE and say grocery store and department store. I gave the customer service the card number and she said you can use it in 30 minutes you have $75. That was a lie!!! I have $58.77 balance from $100 I used months ago. It does not Exp until 10/23. Customer service lie after lie after lie! This company should be put out of business! Thieves!!!!!

Really poor customer service. Do not purchase this card! I am on a vacation and the card is declined everywhere after following all the prompts. Customer service keeps you on the phone over an hour without resolution. I would put zero stars if I could.

If I could give a negative number of stars I would. The company lies to you about the card when you call claiming they "reset" your card when it is declined. They claim falsely that your puchases exceeded the balance available and make any excuse to try to sound valid about why it does not work. They are thieves. DO NOT accept these cards as you will be ripped off.

Received a card from Westgate several months ago for $75. Called tru cash several times because the card does not work. The last representative stated to run that I should run the card as credit and it can only be used at a supermarket or department store. Tried everything they told me and nothing works. Based on the reviews below and my experience, I will be notifying the treasury Dept, FDIC and BBB regarding this company. These are definitely scammers!!!! I may never get back the $75 dollars but looking at even their responses tells me how unprofessional and shady this Company operates. No one needs to continue encountering this issue and it seems that these major Companies that use their services has no recourse! Enough is enough

I have one of these cards i had $50 dollars on it and now i have 20 that i cant even use due to it saying insufficient funds.

The good news is the company I work for offers a bonus incentive program, the bad news is the monies are provided through a Trucash reloadable card. To date, this incompetent bank has made it impossible to redeem monies through an ATM. I attempt to withdraw money from the ATM it declines for "insufficient funds."
THE ACCOUNT HAS MONEY!!! Each time I call it's the same song, "yes, I see the money is there but we're having technical issues with the system on our end". I've made 3 calls a day to gain access to MY MONEY! They've even told me to call ahead everytime I plan to go the ATM. Even after the calls, NO MONEY! Even after 3 trips to bank in 1 day, they asked me to return and try again. Not to mention the lengthy hold time to speak to a rep, that adds to the frustration. After reading all the reviews,
I can't believe they haven't been investigated! The company I work for has cut ties with Trucash. They continue the incentive program through another bank. As of right now, Trucash has $1660 of my money. I'm going to continue to fight to get MY MONEY. It's a shame zero isn't an option for a rating.

Regarding the response, I was asked to choose "a date" not a date range. My post was geared to the most recent experience. My issues began the week prior but I whole-heartedly thought the problems would be resolved by week 2. Sadly, they only became more difficult. I tolerated the need for phone calls the first time around. It was with GREAT EFFORT I finally withdrew the first 1000, not just a simple walk up and withdraw. By week 2, enough was enough, I decided a post was necessary. I refused to go through another week of useless trips to the bank. So yes, the initial post was focused on my most recent ordeal but that doesn't change the fact the problems began episodes prior. My phone calls began March 29 and the terms & policies were explained to me, in which case, I followed accordingly.
