Avoid Tenth Revolution Group – Unprofessional and Discriminatory Practices

I had the unfortunate experience of working with Tenth Revolution Group, and I feel compelled to share my concerns. This company works with clients that do not accept fair hiring practices. From what I’ve seen, they seem to have a troubling pattern of collaborating with clients who only want to hire young, Caucasian candidates, with an alarming preference for those named "Jack, Joe ,etc ."; you get the idea.

It’s disheartening to witness such discriminatory behavior being normalized in today’s professional environment, especially when diversity and inclusion should be a priority for any organization. It’s clear that Tenth Revolution Group is complicit in supporting these unfair and exclusionary hiring practices for clients of their own.

If you are looking for a company that values diversity and promotes equal opportunity, I strongly recommend seeking a more ethical and inclusive organization. There are many other firms that uphold standards of fairness and respect for all individuals.

After one month at my new job, I started to think I had made a mistake. It’s not as good as it seemed at first. The conditions were not as good as I was initially told, and once I started, I came across other situations that had been conveniently left out—probably because they were negative. When someone is looking for a new job, it’s important to be transparent so that people don’t get unpleasant surprises. Changing jobs is a big decision and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

They were helpful every step of the way. As soon as there were updates, the recruiter got back to me promptly. The overall attitude and demeanor were very professional.

I had a fantastic experience throughout the recruitment process. The recruiter was professional, supportive, and made the transition into my new role smooth. A special thanks to Han, who was incredibly kind, well-prepared, and genuinely invested.

So basically I got supported very very well in finding a new Job! The Process was straight forward and the communication was pretty good as well! Breaching of GDPR law wrt. data retention policy.
- They have held my data, after an application, for 2.5 years
- They stated: "From the date of last contact, we hold your data for no less than 3 years unless otherwise requested" - this is a direct violation of the GDPR law

The interview process was well orchestrated. The interviews were all communicated and set up well, and information relay went really smoothly. The actually hiring / paper work part got a bit confusing and was where I felt a lot of things should have been brought up early on and communicated better.

I was deterred from going with my LLC due to time it would potentially take to get my paper work in very last minute. When speaking with my advisor initially weeks prior the firm had already known I had planned to form my own s corp, but I didn't have specifics to give them on what I needed for insurance etc. I'd advise anyone to have everything ready and ask for all info needed for insurance up front since:

{As a sole proprietor (a "regular" 1099 contractor), you pay self-employment tax (Social Security and Medicare, currently 15.3%) on all of your net earnings. This means you pay both the employer and employee portions.

If your LLC elects to be taxed as an S-Corporation, you can pay yourself a "reasonable salary" (which is subject to self-employment tax and payroll taxes, just like a W-2 employee's salary).

However, any remaining profits in the LLC can be taken as "distributions" to you as the owner. These distributions are generally not subject to self-employment tax. This is where the significant tax savings can come in, especially as your income grows. You still pay income tax on the distributions, but you avoid the 15.3% self-employment tax on that portion of your income.}

Since I was already bummed I missed out on some tax benefits it didn't get much better as I jumped on a call with the LLC that informed me it takes 21 days or so to get your first check. Just plan for that. I guess normally for me it's two weeks.

If I could score two parts I'd give interview stage a 5 since that part was great and even if the interviews had not gone well, I think the recruiter did a great job and was really friendly and informative. The setup to work stage I'd give a 2.5 only due to the unknowns, and one large surprise where the LLC was going to take 3/hr out of the pre negotiated contract rate. Luckily that was corrected, and I'm happy with that.
