⚠️ Warning to other buyers – serious concerns about Troostwijk Auctions / TBA Auctions and Vegter Trading Company

I want to share my experience to warn others before doing business with these companies.

I purchased goods (a garage furniture set) through Troostwijk Auctions, part of the TBA Auctions group. The seller listed on the platform was Vegter Trading Company.

After winning the auction and arranging transport, the seller claimed the goods were “still at the port” due to a “strike” — and never made them available for collection. Despite this, Troostwijk cancelled my purchase, kept their buyer’s premium, and even retained 25% of the winning bid, claiming that I “failed to collect on time.”

In reality, the goods were never ready, and the seller clearly misrepresented the situation. This behavior is unethical, misleading, and potentially fraudulent.

When I tried to contact both companies, communication stopped — the seller disappeared, and the auction platform refused to take responsibility.

It appears that third-party sellers can misuse Troostwijk’s platform while the auction company still profits from the transaction, leaving buyers unprotected.

I have reported this incident to the Dutch Police and Fraudehelpdesk.nl for investigation.

Buyers should be extremely cautious when purchasing through Troostwijk / TBA Auctions and avoid dealing with Vegter Trading Company until proper accountability is enforced.

Eén ster. Telkens als men een auto koopt via Troostwijk kom je bij deze jongens terecht. En telkens hetzelfde verhaal, voor export naar België moet TB deel 1 van de documenten later opsturen - elke normale RDW agent geeft deze dadelijk mee - en telkens moet er gedreigd worden met advocaten, aangetekende zending en ingebreke stelling alvorens deel 1 wordt opgestuurd. Antwoorden niet op mail, telefonisch onbereikbaar.

TB auctions is het moederbedrijf van BVA, TB auctions staat ook op het bankafschrift, dochter BVA reageert niet op mail, chat en/of telefonisch contact. Defect kavel ontvangen bezorgveiling dus met consumenten rechten en wetgeving, rechtstreeks contact opgenomen met de “seller” deze was gelukkig bereikbaar, vriendelijk en meedenkend. Seller heeft retourlabel aangemaakt en BVA verzocht aanschafbedrag te retourneren, heb tevens kopie mail seller aan BVA, tot op heden geen reactie of credititering van BVA. Wanneer wordt er ingegrepen? Dit riekt naar oplichting.

Let op dit is moeder bedrijf van o.a BVA-auctions. Bij BVA is het zo’n puinhoop lees vooral de reviews daar. De klantenservice is drukker met reageren op reviews en die afdoen met reacties dat het toch vooral aan de kopers ligt, dan met antwoorden van mails en komen tot oplossingen. Het word tijd dat de moeder in gaat grijpen.
