I paid for Steve.AI, but after using it, I honestly found it to be one of the worst platforms I have tried. The website was very slow, many features did not work properly, and some of the features advertised did not match what I experienced after purchase.

I feel like I wasted my money. I hope others read this review, test the platform carefully first, and avoid making the same mistake.

​I paid for Steve.AI expecting a functional AI video creation tool, but it fails every single time. Every attempt to use the Prompt-to-Video feature results in "Video Settings Failed" and API errors. I haven't been able to render even a single proper video. On top of that, customer support leaves you on "Waiting for a teammate" indefinitely. Totally useless—save your money and look elsewhere.

Always received fantastic customer service from AI, and there offering is exactly what we need - cost-effective and quick AI video production.

Steve makes video creation feel simple, even if you have no editing experience.

I've personally liked how quickly it could turn an idea, script, or prompt into a polished video with visuals, voice, and smooth flow.

It’s a strong tool for creators, marketers, educators, and anyone who wants to make content faster without needing expensive software or technical skills.

Some of the Pros:

Cons:

3. Learning the best way to prompt can take a little practice.

Overall, I’m genuinely impressed with Steve. It saves a ton of time, removes a lot of hassle, and delivers quality results that make content creation much easier.

This is the best video generator I've ever seen, so perfect, I was feeling happy as the video is generating scene by scene

Final UPDATE: After my last review, the company fixed the refund amount and thus provided a full refund, which is why I updated my review to 3 stars.

Update 2 (Downgrading from 2 Stars to 1 Star):
After posting my original review, a representative from Steve.AI (Rufus) reached out via email on June 15 stating they were processing a FULL refund for my subscription and asked if I would consider updating or removing my review once resolved.

They explicitly admitted fault, writing: "After reviewing your case and your recent Trustpilot review, it is clear that we fell short in our response times, follow-up, and overall support."

A couple of days ago, they emailed to confirm that the refund was complete. However, upon checking my bank account, I discovered they only refunded 40% of what I actually paid.

Admitting their support fell short and promising a full refund to fix a bad review—only to quietly shortchange me at 40%—confirms everything I originally suspected about their business practices. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Beware. Do your due diligence and research before paying for a subscription. I purchased a paid subscription on April 9. Based on the marketing on their website, it appeared it could meet my needs so I was excited. Just an hour after using it, it was evident that the capabilities I needed for my business couldn't be met. I immediately reached out, probably within the hour after I paid for the subscription explaining my situation and asking for a refund. After many emails, some of them taking more than 3 weeks to respond, they agreed to give me a partial refund and access to another of their product offerings. I accepted. They explained that "they don't have a refund policy" whatever that means, as the reasoning behind it. Weeks passed and the refund was never processed. I followed up again, and after 3 weeks after I sent that follow up email, they replied saying refund was "in process". The refund never came. I had to file a complaint with my bank, right before the time limit. It is possible they were delaying everything with excuses so I would miss the window to submit a complaint with my bank.

Steve AI is AI video generator which is extremely easy to use . I created AI videos for Instagram channels less than half hour and the quality was amazing

Steve.AI is a good site for people new to ai video / image creation its a nice simple layout so you can navigate easy
try it yourself it will make you happy i am sure

Steve AI does what it promises, it gives you quick, professional-looking animated content at a reasonable price. It's got practical features, the interface works well and the scripts are created pretty fast. Overall positive experience.

Updated Final Review: 11 May 2026:
After numerous emails (19 emails in total) going back and fro, Steve.ai eventually refunded the full amount I paid which I can confirm I received back in my bank account. Some of their emails were vague, however, in the end the staff did acknowledge they would refund and that is exactly what they did. They did state that they do not normally process refunds, however, the option of free trials were limited, and it would be a great idea if Steve.ai allowed for the free trial to be applied to all subscription levels. I updated my experience from a 1 star to 3 stars since communication was lengthy and at one stage was being treated as a joke. In the end, they did come good on a refund. The app designers need to take into consideration the users feedback.

I am in the early process of writing a review. In this review I will be transparent, neutral and professional. This review is not limited in any way to just merely a written response, and as social media is rampant, other social media platforms will also highlight the process of this enquiry and how it has been dealt with. The public will be able to then form an informed opinion based not on bias but on facts. Steve.ai response to my request will form the opinion of the public in a positive or negative light. Once the request has formally been dealt with, an update status will also be posted to this review to highlight overall customer feedback with a rating of 1-5 sliding satisfaction scale. My review is based on requesting an immediate refund within a 24 hour time frame due to the app not being able to perform certain tasks, and at this stage, no definite answer from Steve.ai has been given as to whether the refund will be actioned. I am awaiting a response and will update you all in due course.

The videos generated are best. Just the UI/UX needs improvement. Seems to have lot of error in API frontend integration

If I could give 0 stars, I would have. Unfortunately, the minimum is one.

I bought this Appsumo LTD plan (Tier 2) with a lot of confidence, as I am rarely disappointed by the deals I find on the Appsumo platform. Now it's so disapointing in terms of generation quality compared to modern AI video generation platforms that it is absolutly unsuseful and total scam. It's a shame and an insane disgrace.

However, for this Steve and AI application, I have no choice but to express my disappointment, my dissatisfaction. I almost want to say my anger, so much do I feel like I have been scammed.

With the evolution of AI models in video generation currently underway, notably Google VO3, this software seems completely useless.

Worse, AppSumo buyers absolutely do not have access to Steve AI's updates. And it seems that the platform remains stuck on old models and outdated generation algorithms, completely obsolete and useless.

The promise made in the AppSumo LTD offer, claiming that we had access to all future updates, is a lie.

I contacted Steve AI during a so called demo call showing new features and was told that I had to create a new account and abandon my AppSumo LTD account if I wanted access to the latest product features. A disgrace and a total scam!

As I said, they're not consistent. They told me they'd refund me, but so far, nothing, just another lie. Trustpilot should provide a way to respond to comments. They replied to me in the review I recently wrote on Trustpilot that they'd refund me immediately—I repeat, immediately—but after I provided my credentials, they disappeared, so that response is false! As are the rest of the (false) comments they've made I think so now. If anyone reads that they're offering refunds, it's incorrect because it's only in the comments; in reality, they don't do it. Be careful! I'd suggest Trustpilot provide a way to respond to false comments for greater transparency.

I paid for Steve AI expecting real script-to-video, and it’s a complete scam. They let you paste a 10-minute script in a 32,000-character box, then give you a 40-second slideshow with 8 scenes. The rest of the script is ignored to make you upgrade more. The zoom effects are glitchy, buggy, not smooth. The voice-overs are ugly, robotic, and unusable. Nothing sounds human. They advertise long-form video creation but deliver only short social-media clips disguised as “full videos.” This is false advertising, and they are tricking people into upgrading. Save your money. Use real tools instead.

I purchased the Steve AI Pro Plan for $59 and it has been an absolute nightmare from the start.

The first video I tried to create from my own script didn’t work at all. Instead of generating an animated video like their website promises, Steve AI created one single picture with background music and nothing else.

I reached out to support and received this message:

“Hi Damon,
I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with Steve AI.
I’m sorry to hear it hasn’t met your expectations so far.
Your feedback helps us improve… You can always customise the video with the advanced edit option…
Please check it out and let us know.
Regards,
Kishore, SteveAI”

This response ignored the issue completely. I wasn’t having trouble with “customizing” a video — I couldn’t even get one to generate.

I tried again… and again… and again.

Every time I attempted to create a new video, Steve AI would get halfway through processing and then stop with the same error:

“Asset fetching failed.”

I contacted support again and was told this:

“Hi Damon,
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please share the Project ID so I can check…
Regards,
Bala, SteveAI”

I sent them the Project ID. I tried a total of 12 times to create a video. Every single attempt failed with the same error.

Then I received this message from another rep:

“Hi Damon,
Please cancel the subscription to initiate the refund.
Regards,
Ashik, SteveAI”

At this point, I had wasted hours trying to get one functional video out of a service that advertises effortless AI video creation.

Don’t waste your money.
The platform simply doesn’t work, the features don’t match the claims on the website, and the customer service responses feel copy-and-paste and disorganized. Three different reps, three different answers, zero working videos.

Steve AI is a scam of a website and absolutely not worth the $59 I spent. I cancelled and will be pursuing a refund.

Save your money and look elsewhere.

I have received your multiple emails asking me to remove or edit my Trustpilot review.

To be clear, my review accurately reflects my experience with Steve AI. I paid $59 for the Pro Plan, attempted over a dozen times to generate a video, and every attempt failed with the same “Asset fetching failed” error. I contacted support repeatedly and received inconsistent, copy-and-paste style responses from multiple representatives, none of which actually resolved the issue. The platform did not perform as advertised, and I wasted a significant amount of time trying to make it work.

While I appreciate that a refund was eventually processed, that does not change the experience I had with your product or support team. A refund does not erase the frustration, lost time, or the fact that the service failed to deliver what was promised.

Your continued requests feel less about understanding or fixing the problem and more about improving your Trustpilot score. Reviews are meant to reflect real customer experiences so that others can make informed decisions. For that reason, I will not be removing or editing my review unless there is a genuine reason to do so based on a materially different experience.

If Steve AI wants better reviews, the solution is to fix the platform so it works as advertised and ensure customer support actually addresses issues instead of deflecting them.

Please consider this my final response on this matter.

The customer service agent, Kushore, was extremely helpful and patient. He answered all of my questions in a way that a non-tech person could understand.
