Southwest water say we have to safe water , but we have had a main water leak for 5 days and nothing has been done about it.
Water pouring down road. Don, t tell customers to safe water , when you just waist it yourself. Looks like southwest hasn't replied to my review.

I called South West Water today to try and sort out my account, and the experience was genuinely uncomfortable and unacceptable.

While I was confirming my personal details with the call handler, I could clearly hear a woman laughing in the background at my responses. I politely said, “Sorry, but I don’t appreciate somebody laughing at this call when I am trying to sort something serious out.” To my disbelief, the laughter continued.

I was so uncomfortable and angry that I ended the call.

I understand that people may work from home, but that is no excuse for such unprofessional behaviour. I was trying to deal with a serious account matter, and I should have been able to do so without feeling like I was being laughed at.

It also left me concerned about the confidentiality of my call, as I was providing personal information and could clearly hear somebody else in the background.

Customer service should be about treating people with respect, professionalism and basic courtesy. Unfortunately, that was completely lacking in this experience.

I will be making a formal complaint and expect South West Water to investigate what happened. This experience has seriously undermined my confidence in the company.

Turned up unexpectedly stating they had to fit a new water meter. I let the woman in to change the meter. A little while later she told me she had finished and said i made a bit of a mess but have mopped the water up. She then informed me that the stopcock was not working now. I said it was working fine before as i turned the water off recently when I went to hospital.
She then told me someone would be calling later to rectify the stopcock.

That was over 6 months ago and in spite of messaging South West Water on Facebook my stopcock still is not working.

As my home and the home below has been at risk of flooding during this time I am now opening a resolver case against South West Water and will seeking substantial compensation.

I will also be leaving another review relating to the very poor chemical tasting tap water that is not fit for Human Consumption and the extortionate charges for water and sewage treatment.

Yesterday two vans, two workmen outside my front door, Mill Road , Okehampton. ‘Here to repair your leaking water pipe. Unfortunately it’s been leaking. So you need to contact SWW if you want a readjustment’ Seriously? I have to request a readjustment? If l hadn’t been here and spoken to the workers SWW would have got away Scot free!

Absolute pee takers!!! What a joke this company is, I think I'm just going to stop paying my bill and go to court, any judge would laugh them out the room, couldn't organise a piss up in brewery as I doubt it would have any water!!!!

My water bills for many years were c.£400 a year. In the past two or three years they have increased exponentially and have been in the region of £250 to £300 a quarter. My summer water bill was about £650 - and apparently the property is using more than two and a half times what would be expected. When I got in touch to report a possible leak, the company did put the bill on hold. They said I must have changed my water usage and said it was down to me to check for leaks including external leaks which could have cost in the region of £1000+. They rejected a plumber's report (for which I had to pay £250) and the representative thought it was OK for me to travel down to Cornwall from London to do a leak check myself. I came to the same conclusion as the plumber. In the end I paid the bill, having engaged another plumber to check for any internal leaks and fix what seemed to be a running toilet. The next bill was slightly less (£550) but still excessive. I feel they are just prepared to charge whatever they want while providing no help or care to customers.

Received an estimated bill that’s very inflated and well above my actual usage. Unable to provide an online meter reading for an adjustment billing as they’re making “changes”. Can’t phone them as I’m deaf and WhatsApp customer services don’t reply. Have emailed, so awaiting their reply. South West Water has a rotten reputation for over charging and this feels like yet another manoeuvre to squeeze more money from their unfortunate customers. They pump sewage into the sea and rivers, poison us and over charge us. Is it any wonder people are angry with them???

Absolutely terrible company

I bought land and stables at auction. SWW couldn’t tell me where the meter was and then when i found it, I contacted SWW to send out someone to turn it on as it had a red cap. Three times they have told me someone will be out to remove the cap and get it going. Each time they go out, no one gets back to me and nothing happens. I have been without water for months and it is becoming a huge problem as my 5 horses have no source of water and it is not easy to transport 1200 litres of water every morning.

Diabolical customer service. They have a captive audience and they just don't care. Probably prioritising pumping excrement into water ways instead of helping people.

I have received a letter threatening me with a debt recovery agency if i do not pay my latest bill , yet it clearly states on the bill i am on a payment plan and next payment is due in October.
It’s a waste of time trying to talk to customer service because it never achieves any result.

I would give zero if possible. Awful service. Useless agents unable to respond to basic questions. Insane charges for a disgustingly poor offering.

Live on an old farm. Surrounding fields sold off and water connections to troughs cut and plugged. New neighbour asked for a new metered supply. SWW installed saying they had connected to the main. They hadn’t. They connected to an old supply which
was connected to my meter. My bills increased by over 500%, my neighbour had 20 horses. Long story short- SWW said problem was mine as neighbour had connected unlawfully to my supply ( remember SWW connected and metered the supply) would not accept liability. The senior complaints person Ms A Bond did not understand the situation, refused to accept responsibility and now refuses to reply to my protestations. A total disgrace. The stress this caused my wife and I over 10 months - SWW aka Ms Bond could not care less. No one is accountable.

after going on holiday I missed my last months bill from SWWater. this was followed by a reminder which I paid on line the day that I returned. 10 days later I received a final demand THREATENING RECOVERY ACTION IF I DIDNT PAY UP. Needless to say I contacted SWW's Customer service ( in the phillipines). The operator who answered was totally incomprehensible, couldnt offer any explanation as to why SWW is sending out unjustified threatening letters to customers--She did however manage to log a formal complaint on my behalf-- but I am am not confident that will go anywhere.
In the 5 years that I have had the misfortune of residing in SWW's supply area I have found them to be the most untrustworthy and dishonest company that I have ever done business with. Leaving aside that they routinely pollute our rivers and beaches and even on one occasion not too long ago poisoned its own customers in Brixham with Cryptosporidium contamination.

How can you increase my bill by nearly £50? Nothings changed. I’m still working all the hours God sends so not here to use the foul tasting warm, TCP smelling tap water you have the audacity to call water then supply and charge for.

Waste water £82. Is that for all the rainfall we’ve not had since May?

Absolutely disgusting. The sooner all utility companies are taken back - without paying your debts - the better.

Just had an email from them telling me that I have been 'opted into paperless billing' to help save the environment by using less paper?
South West water want to start fixing their leaking infrastructure and stop pouring their effluent into the sea.
Don't patronise me by using the "we must reach net zero" rubbish.
If you cared about that you would fix your mess.

Had letter saying starting work 17th August in front of our drive never turned up. Come home from work one day and there doing it 3 weeks later.
After they completed the work they washed all the mud down our drive and blocked the drain.
They have turned around and said it’s not their responsibility as it’s considered private drainage. Not happy
