Great service and advise

We visited the Sofology store in Milton Keynes to look at sofas and found one we really liked. The salesperson told us the sofa was available from clearance as new, at a good discounted price, and that it would be delivered in about 3 weeks. Based on that information, we decided to go ahead with the purchase.

The sofa was delivered on 6 September, but unfortunately it arrived with missing and damaged parts. The recliner's back piece was missing, and the chaise base was broken. The delivery team therefore had to take the sofa back.

Since then, I have spent considerable time contacting customer service to find out what was happening. After a week, I was told they needed images from the depot to assess the damage. On 16 September, someone from customer service contacted me and said they could return the sofa and repair it at our home.

At this point, I explained that we had purchased what was presented to us as a new, clearance sofa, not a refurbished or damaged sofa, and asked whether Sofology could offer some further compensation/discount given what had happened. This was refused. I also specifically asked whether they had located the missing recliner part, but I did not receive a clear answer.

Today, when I contacted customer service again, I was told the only option was to cancel the order and place a completely new order at full price.

So after five weeks of waiting, repeated calls, a failed delivery, a damaged sofa, missing parts and considerable inconvenience — none of which was caused by us — the proposed resolution is for us to start again and pay full price.

This is extremely frustrating. The original discounted price was part of the reason we agreed to purchase the sofa, and we should not be put back to square one after Sofology's failure to deliver the product as agreed.

The issue isn't just the sofa itself; it is the lack of ownership and the time and hassle involved in trying to get a straightforward resolution.

I expected much better from Sofology. I hope someone senior reviews this case and offers a reasonable resolution rather than simply asking the customer to cancel and start again.

Please please read all reviews, you will get good service in the showroom but as soon as you sign the deal thats it. Absolutely terrible terrible quality and absolutely terrible after care customer service.

I have just ordered a sofa. Staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and didn’t follow us around like in many shops.

Malik and the rest of the team were extremely helpful and polite, nice products and great experience.

Lovely showroom and was taken through lots of different styles and sizes by a very knowledgeable sales person called Dace Valuma, she was a really lovely person. I had a very strict measurement size as my front room is quite small. Once the sofa style was chosen Dace then took me through all the colours and materials which I was really impressed with.
I ordered the swatches we had decided, once they were quickly delivered to my home I was able to choose exactly which swatch I wanted.
I Went back to store, met up with Dace Valuma again ( sales person ) and I ordered my hopefully dream sofa. Dace really helped as I am very fussy and she was really helpful. Thank you

What made our experience great was Hem, the lady who helped us. Hem was extremely pleasant, patient, helpful. Hem genuinely just wanted us to have the correct sofa for us and for us to leave with clear and precise information of the whole sofa journey and leave with smiles on our face feeling like we had made the right decision. All the sofas we viewed in the store looked really good quality tbf and had a massive variety which helped us get the exact one that we had imagined.
Thanks Hem for all our interaction together it was a pleasure.
