One of the worst companies I've ever dealt with.
One of the worst companies I've ever had to 'deal' with.
Buying a house in Llanelli, valuer picked up damp, seller had a damp & timber report done, small patch of damp mainly coming from next door, seller got more work done than required to sort problem in his house, even next door got his chimney removed & sorted out his side. Damp & timber people provided new report after work was done & guarantee which I sent to my mortgage broker, who sent it to the mortgage company, who sent it to the valuer.
Then nothing. SDL sat on it for 3 weeks. Everyone, me the buyer, the seller, the estate agent, both sides of solicitors, the mortgage broker even the mortgage company were left twiddling our thumbs waiting for the word of god.
Myself & the estate agent kept hassling the mortgage broker for news, who kept hassling the mortgage company who kept asking the valuer to give the ok. Even the mortgage company were losing patience with the valuer.
Then after 3 weeks they said they have to do a revaluation which was going to cost me another £205 although I talked the mortgage co down to £100. Why they couldn't go by the new damp & timber report & guarantee I do not know.
I'm trying to run a business here & everyone knows time is money, 3 weeks waiting when they could have just said there needs to be a revaluation!
I will be putting in an official complaint if I can get the name of the valuer from the mortgage company.
I didn't have a choice about which valuer the mortgage company used but I can write a review here to tell everyone not to use this company.
