Run ! This is not a scam with all artists but mostly it will be a fight to get a vinyle with some labels but they will keep your money.

So, be careful if you buy things, use paypal and if any problems, don't forget to use your claim.

I tried to write to bandcamp for 3 weeks without getting any answers... before to write to paypal and get finally a sign of life of bandcamp and label.

I'm struggling to get others answers and refund, but let's avoid bandcamp and find some others platform more serious and also honest with artist

Bandcamp an sich finde ich eine gute Seite. Hier kann man Künster finden, die man sonst wohl kaum entdeckt hätte. Ich habe sowohl sehr gute als auch schlechte Erfahrung gemacht. Ich selber kaufe nur physische Tonträger, vor allem Schallplatte und Kassetten.

Aufgrund der hohen Versand- und Zoll Kosten bestelle ich nur bei Band im EU Innland. Es macht leider keinen Sinn etwas aus den USA oder ähnliches zu kaufen. Hier scheint jedoch der Großteil der herzukommen. Entsprechend groß ist das Angebot dort.

Nicht desto trotz habe ich schon sehr gute neue Musik von deutschen Bands gefunden.

Ein weiterer negativer Punkt ist leider aktuell der Support. Vor allem bei Bestellungen die nicht ankommen. Das ist bei mir leider schon häufiger passiert. Besonders, wenn es sich um Alben von Künstler gehandelt hat, die schon länger nicht mehr bei Bandcamp neue Sachen veröffentlich haben.
Dies Profile scheinen von den Künstlern wohl nicht mehr aktiv genutzt zu werden, bieten aber weiterhin die Produkte an.
Entsprechend kommt die bestellte Ware nicht an und auch Rekation auf geschrieben Nachrichten bleiben aus. In der Vergangenheit war dies bei der Rückerstattung auch kein Problem seitens Bandcamp.
Aktuell scheint der Support aber überfordert. So warte ich bis heute noch auf 2 Rückerstattungen aus dem Dezember und Januar.

Leider scheint auch im Nachgang nicht weiter gemacht zu werden. So sind die Seiten der Künstler weiterhin online, dass es bei anderen Kunden zum selben Problem kommen wird. Bandcamp sollte hier eine bessere Strategie fahren und solche "toten" Profile löschen, dass Nutzer nicht das Problem mit Rückerstattungen haben und der Support entlastet ist.

Ansonsten finde ich Bandcamp eine schöne Möglichkeit neue Musik zu entdecken, leider nervt es bisweilen mit den oben genannten Mängeln.

Ordered an item from an artist that goes by Homeshake nearly a month ago. I had not received any shipment notifications. I reached out the the artist and all I got was, "I will investigate". I requested a refund with no response. I then reached out to Bandcamp's support, also no response. Pretty shady tactics here. Be careful spending money with this group.

My order never arrived and no one answers emails.

  
Don't order any physical media through this platform, as there's no guarantee you'll receive them. I've ordered from them a couple of times, and the records arrived, but I've been waiting for my last order for 3 months now, and I think it won't be delivered. It wasn't a pre-order, as the records have been in stock for a long time. Neither the label nor Bandcamp support responds to my emails. They simply remain silent and don't respond. I'm currently working with my bank to decide how to get the funds back and make a chargeback. This is the worst customer service I've ever encountered in my life.

I ordered a CD from a Bandcamp vendor called, Sixteen Frets. It was promised to be delivered no later than Feb. 24. It is now Feb. 26 and no CD. Neither Sixteen Frets or Bandcamp have responded to the numerous messages I've sent requesting shipping status and, eventually, cancelation of and refund for non-arriving order. With such lousy service and no response to communications, I'd never try to use Bandcamp again.

Ordered an album. Reached out SEVERAL times. Never got a response and never received my album. Don’t use this stupid website

Da soll man sich als Künstler registrieren, tut das und hat aber absolut keine Möglichkeit eine Emailanfrage zu stellen. Man verbunkert sich hinter einer miserablen FAQ und miserablen Suchfunktion. Ich mache mit Sicherheit keine Geschäfte mit einem Unternehmen, dass den direkten Kundenkontakt verweigert. Das ist rundum unprofessionell und braucht kein Mensch! Es gibt zig andere digitale Musikvertriebe!

Ich bin schockiert, wie respektlos und willkürlich hier mit Künstlern umgegangen wird.
Mein Konto wurde ohne nachvollziehbare Beweise gesperrt, mit der Begründung, meine Musik sei angeblich „KI-generiert“. Das ist schlicht falsch. Jede einzelne Aufnahme, jede Spur, jede Produktion stammt zu 100 % von mir persönlich – komponiert, eingespielt, produziert. Kein KI-Tool. Kein Generator. Nichts.
Trotzdem wird man behandelt, als würde man betrügen.
Ohne transparente Prüfung.
Ohne klare Beweise.
Ohne echte Kommunikation.
Einfach Account weg.
Für unabhängige Artists bedeutet das: 👉 verlorene Verkäufe
👉 verlorene Fans
👉 zerstörtes Vertrauen
👉 monatelange Arbeit gelöscht
So geht man nicht mit Kreativen um.
Statt Künstler zu unterstützen, scheint hier ein automatisiertes Verdachts-System zu entscheiden, das offensichtlich Fehler macht – und am Ende leidet der Musiker, nicht die Plattform.
Besonders bitter: Man investiert Zeit, baut sich eine Community auf – und wird dann grundlos ausgesperrt, als wäre man ein Betrüger.
Ich werde rechtliche Schritte prüfen, weil ich mir diese falschen Anschuldigungen nicht gefallen lasse.
Für Indie-Künstler absolut nicht empfehlenswert.
Wer Wert auf Sicherheit und Fairness legt, sollte sich gut überlegen, ob er hier seine Musik hosten will.
Sehr enttäuschend.

I ordered a vinyl from the band THE BEST PESSIMIST. After months of waiting for the delivery, I made repeated attempts to contact the seller and bandcamp customer support - zero response from either.

I can't even dispute the transaction, because the Bandcamp website doesn't send you an email with Complaint acknowledgment.

Please avoid buying anything from this website, waste of your money!

Dreadful Customer Service

Ordered 2 Yard Act T Shirts due for delivery on 2/1 . No tracking provided, just email saying shipped. Still not received as of 17/1 . 3 requests sent to ‘help desk’ and not one acknowledgement.

Maybe they are good for bands to promote music but don’t ever but any associated merch through them

Bandcamp permanently terminated my artist account for alleged “AI-generated music” even though my catalog consisted of human written, human authored original works, by me and none of the material had even been publicly released yet.

No warning.
No specific track identified.
No opportunity to correct or clarify.
Just an immediate termination notice and a vague appeal instruction with up to 6 months to wait for an answer.

I am an independent songwriter, lyricist, and producer. My work is authored, written, arranged, and curated by me. Like most modern musicians, I use digital tools and production software but that does not make my music “AI-generated.”

Bandcamp currently hosts large volumes of openly self-described AI and AI-assisted content, yet my private, unpublished drafts were singled out and my entire account was removed without explanation. This feels inconsistent, opaque, and procedurally unfair.

Independent artists rely on platforms like Bandcamp to safely host, distribute, and sell their work. Losing access to your own catalog without clear reasoning or due process is extremely damaging and erodes trust in the platform especially with me.

Until Bandcamp implements transparent review standards, meaningful human moderation, and fair correction opportunities, I will not recommend them to independent creators and suggest other outlets be suggested for your content.

I will not use bandcamp even if they reinstate my account as I have zero trust in their ways of business after this.

Once a big fan of the site and its concept (big share for the artists, deep insight into labels and a great chance to discover new artists), I see it different now. There seems to be no more customer service. I made a paid preorder for an mp3 album, but the link didn't work when it came out. No answer from bandcamp, no answer from the label - for months and up to this day. Unlike in the older days, there seems to be no more customer care.
Like this you don't care for the customer plus for human labor. It doesn't suit a company who wanted to be fair. You grow too fast, you lose your roots.
Solution: Buying the inevitable on bandcamp, using fair and clean alternatives wherever it is possible.

I uploaded 40!!! AI created albums and today they remember that ai generated is not allowed with result to delete everything after spending many hours. At least should not be allowed from the start to not lose my time. This shows that they didn't respect my time.

I ordered a cd on 20th December 2025 from a group called the Onlies in the US supposed to be mailed by 27th. It wasn't. It was overlooked by the artist and their family who were supposed to be dealing with it.
I had to chase it and hopefully I have a refund. This is not a good way for an artist to conduct business. If you can't be bothered with your fans you don't deserve to make any money from them. Now I have no faith in this system, I can't be bothered following the artist and it has put me off buying CDs in this way.

I’ve never had such a frustrating experience with a online store. Krunk’s Bandcamp customer communication is practically nonexistent – emails go unanswered for weeks, and when they do respond, it’s vague and unhelpful. Shipping was painfully slow, far beyond any reasonable timeframe, and there was zero proactive communication about delays.
To make matters worse, their customer service is awful. Instead of resolving issues, they deflect responsibility and leave you hanging. The final insult? They charged me for Duty and Tax payments that they should have covered. This is completely unacceptable and feels like a scam.

Bandcamp bietet hervorragende Bands (CD,Vinyl,Download) an. Viele, oft die Besten nur per PayPal bezahlbar. Aus bestimmten, wichtigen Gründen lehne ich PayPal ab. Schade

Ordered "LOST - 1st Press - Limited Edition" from Kalax back in May of 2024. Paid $70 and change and never received it. Kalax not answering any messages. Contacted Bandcamp support several times (last time in December of 2025). Bandacmp support is useless. They telling me that they "Just a marketplace" and they not responsible for anything. They just forwarding my request to Kalax and walking away. No help, no support, no protection whatsoever.

CD im September bei Bandcamp bestellt, aber seit über 3 Monaten keine Lieferung. Auf mehrfache Anfragen bei Bandcamp und der Band keinerlei Reaktionen. Sehr enttäuschend. Einmal und nie wieder.
Ergänzung: CD ist heute am 7.1.2026 eingetroffen. Musste noch 13,30 Euro Zoll an den DHL-Boten bezahlen. CD wurde ausweislich Poststempel erst am 19.12.2025 in den USA abgesandt, sollte aber bereits spätestens im Oktober 2025 abgesandt werden. Mit zwischenzeitlicher kurzer Kommunikation würde sich viel Ärger vermeiden lassen.

Band Camp is een muziekportaal waar je bij artiesten en recordlabels zelf muziek in digitale vorm (MP3, etc.) en als fysiek product (elpee, CD, cassette) kunt kopen.
Veel muziek die ik mooi vind is exclusief op Band Camp beschikbaar en de afgelopen acht jaar heb ik ruim 70 maal een LP of CD bij hen gekocht.

De snelheid van levering van een LP of CD en communicatie hieromheen is sterk afhankelijk van het recordlabel. De grote jongens die hun waar ook via normale platenwinkels leveren zijn snel en correct; de kleinere labels - en dan die vooral in het buitenland - laten in hun doen en laten nogal eens te wensen over: Mijn laatste vier bestellingen hadden het probleem dat ze niet werden geleverd en dat het recordlabel niet op mijn mail regeert.
Interventie door Band Camp biedt soms uitkomst: een tweede versie van product wordt alsnog nagestuurd of het geld wordt teruggestort. Band Camp's helpdesk is ofwel onderbezet of er zijn veel gevallen met leverproblemen, want het kan maanden duren voordat ze de zaak voor jou hebben opgelost.

Waar het bij een levering misgaat is meestal niet duidelijk, maar ik vermoed dat de lange weg die een product moet afleggen van het ene land naar het andere land - met al haar douanes en transportbedrijven - hier debet aan is. Wees met name op je hoede bij bestellingen in Canada, US en UK.

Band Camp zou iets kritischer mogen zijn op de verschillende aanbieders: als een recordlabel keer op keer niet in staat blijkt een fysiek product in één keer correct te verzenden en Band Camp telt een behoorlijk aantal incidenten met het label, zou het label geen fysiek product via Band Camp mogen verkopen.
