Pioneermountaineering Arvostelua 

We used Pioneer Mountaineering as our leaders for a charity walk I was organising. They were professional throughout, but also personable, friendly, knowledgeable and very supportive. Three ascents of Snowdon in daylight in a single day was a tough ask and they guided all of us through it across the full 14 hours on the mountain. Luke and Nathan really did a fantastic job and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to anyone.

I booked onto the Carneddau range hike because I didn’t want to do such a long hike alone. It was a fantastic experience with a small group of strangers (I was the only woman but that didn’t matter at all) Nathan was very attentive and walked with all 5 of the other hikers - he never left anyone alone at the back and had a good knowledge of the mountains and the area. I look forwards to booking with Pioneer again.

Pioneer Mountaineering gave me the opportunity as a trainee mountain leader to shadow their very experienced, knowledgeable ML on a group walk.

Not only was was Nath a fantastic mentor, who passed on lots of his knowledge and wisdom, but he made sure the entire group had a great day throughout. It's great that the company are committed to supporting and developing new leaders, and are so enthusiastic about helping people of all experiences have a great time outdoors. The Pioneer Mountaineering Team organised a half-day hike in the Peak District National Park for a group of 44 students from Poland. Based on my request stating the desired length and level of difficulty they prepared the whole plan, sent me a detailed description of the activity together with a map, list of necessary things to pack and an emergency response plan in case anything goes wrong - super professional. They have an AALA Licence which makes them the right people to organise and lead such projects. On the day of the hike the group was welcomed with great enthusiasm by all the 4 leaders - Nathan, Ben, Matt and Geraldine, and set off for the hike in smaller groups. The leaders were fantastic with the children, taking the time to talk with them, answer their questions, and keep them engaged throughout the hike. Their passion for the outdoor was contagious, inspiring curiosity and helping create a memorable experience for the students.

I took part in a hill skils walk during the BMC Big Hiking Weekend, led by Luke from Pionner Mountaineering. We learned navigation skills and then put them into practice. Luke also showed us what we should always pack and take with us on every hike. We also had the opportunity to try out some rescue equipment. It was a very interesting and informative hike. Luke is a great leader with a wealth of knowledge and passion. I highly recomend Pionner Mountaineering

I went on a Hill skills day with Luke from Pionner Mountaineering. Over the day we went over navigation skills; use of map and compass, features on the map, taking a bearing and micro navigation. We all got to try out our skills and Luke ensured we understood what we were doing. Another part of the day was use of emergency equipment, what to pack and how to use it. I have carried round some of this and had not thought about trying it out to make sure I knew what to do with it.
Great range of knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching us these skills. I certainly feel more prepared for my next hikes. Absolutely brilliant day.

I attended a hill skills day workshop with Luke in the Peak District and it was such a brilliant day, learning some of the basics of navigation and important safety & survival skills for when things go wrong on a hike. Really enjoyed the day, and definitely feel more prepared for days out in the hills now 🙌
